Chapter 1172 The opportunity has come
Hunter could not be relied upon at all, but he suggested that Vincent should ask Eric. Retired SAS soldiers were scattered across the country's major intelligence departments, and perhaps they might be able to find out some solutions, such as the Queen and the Prime Minister's schedules.
The sudden appearance of the projection screen scared William, and his big head was suddenly filled with doubts.
After waiting for nearly two minutes, Eric finally connected to the video call.
The picture was a little dim, and he seemed to be in a bad mood. "What's wrong? Your mother and I are having a candlelight dinner."
The old couple really knew how to enjoy life. Hunter, who was sitting next to them, was so jealous that he drank three glasses of whiskey in a row.
Vincent was quite tactful. "It's nothing important. Please continue."
After hanging up the phone, he satisfied William's curiosity as if nothing had happened.
Hunter was not interested in the difference between magic projection and holographic projection. He called the hotel front desk to arrange dinner.
20 minutes later, room service arrived.
Traditional British cuisine is indeed not that good, but the Ryan Hotel is an international star hotel chain after all, and it has its own unique understanding of the innovation of British cuisine.
Fish and chips are usually served with a sweet and sour tartar sauce, but here they are served with a spicy cheese sauce.
There is also Thai mango sticky rice that combines Southeast Asian flavors, beef bone, white radish and mushroom soup cooked in Chinese style, and onion juice poured over ice cream that is eye-catching.
After dinner, Vincent put on his coat and seemed ready to go out.
Hunter's nerves tensed instantly, "Where are you going?"
"Go home and see."
Hunter breathed a sigh of relief, but he was still a little worried. "Let me drive you there."
"Okay." Vincent did not refuse.
William stayed in the hotel, and in just half a day, his worldview was overturned several times in a row. It was good for him to be alone and quiet.
As soon as the Land Rover SUV drove into Oxford Street, Vincent in the passenger seat felt a familiar magical aura.
The corners of his mouth rose slightly as he looked at the bustling streets outside the car window.
"We're here." Hunter parked the car on the road opposite Wayne's house.
He handed the sunglasses to Vincent, "Put these on quickly, there should be wizards from your Ministry of Magic around."
“No.” Vincent unbuckled his seatbelt and opened the car door. “I know her. Do you want to say hello to her?”
Hunter took back his sunglasses and put them on himself, "Forget it, I'm not interested in witches."
Vincent smiled, got out of the car and walked a few steps along the road when a voice came from behind him.
"do not move!"
He felt something hard pressing against his lower back and raised his hands obediently.
Hunter, who stayed in the car, was extremely nervous.
Where's the acquaintance we agreed to have? Why did you just...
Wait, why does this witch's hair change color?
Outside the car, Tonks, who was pressing her wand against Vincent's lower back, suddenly burst into laughter.
"Hahahaha—I've caught the famous Dark Lord of the New Age!"
Vincent turned around and curled his lips, "Tonks, why do you always get assigned such boring tasks?"
Tonks slapped him hard on the back. "What a boring mission! I've already caught you."
Vincent spread his hands towards her, "Are you sure?"
Tonks's hair color kept changing, finally settling on black.
She put away her wand and said, "Alright, even the German Ministry of Magic can't do anything to you, so I, a small Auror, will just turn a blind eye."
"Thank you."
"Go quickly before the shift changes."
Vincent opened the door and found nothing had changed.
He went up to the third floor and found his room filled with gift boxes.
He picked up the magic communicator belatedly and realized that today was July 7th and his birthday had passed three days ago.
There are a lot of gifts, and it will take a lot of time to open them now. I'd better take them back and open them slowly.
Vincent specially picked out the gifts from his friends. Their gifts were not much different from previous years. Fred and George were still as funny as ever. They actually gave him the autobiography of a student who failed to get into an art academy - "My Struggle".
He put the book away and opened Hermione's gift.
Inside was Michael Jackson's signed album "History" released this year, and underneath was a set of light blue Fat Blue pajamas.
Vincent smiled, put away his pajamas, and stood in front of the wall in the room with concert posters, holding the signed album.
If I remember correctly, Michael had a scene at this year's MTV Awards in New York that went down in pop music history.
"What day in September is it..." He muttered to himself as he turned on the projection screen and wrote down the schedule.
Put away all the gifts, it's almost time.
When he saw Tonks again, Vincent found that she seemed to be in a particularly good mood.
"What good thing happened?"
"Huh? Am I being obvious?"
"very obvious."
Tonks actually blushed, a rare occurrence. "Uh—it's nothing, actually."
Vincent understood instantly that the reason this silly girl was so happy was either because of a promotion or because of Lupin.
He smiled knowingly, "Professor Lupin finally got it. Remember to send me the wedding invitation when the time comes."
Tonks's face and hair turned red. "What do you know, little brat? It's almost time for the shift change. You better get going."
She pushed Vincent all the way to the Land Rover SUV.
Not long after getting in the car, he suddenly opened the door and looked at Tonks, who still had a shy face.
"What, why don't you leave?"
"I'd like to ask, is Dawlish still responsible for secretly protecting the Queen?"
Tonks, who thought he was going to tease her again, breathed a sigh of relief, "No, this guy is still in the hospital."
A month has passed. It seems that even with rubber bullets, Pandora's anti-material sniper rifle form still has terrifying destructive power.
"Is Dawlish okay now?"
"I felt like I was dying in the first few days, but now I'm much better. I think I'll be able to jump around again after lying down for another half a month."
"That's good." Vincent nodded gently. "Who is responsible for secretly protecting the Queen now?"
"Muggle Queen? Kingsley."
"What about the Prime Minister?"
"It's that big, stupid guy, Wales."
They are all old acquaintances, and the opportunity has come.
Vincent winked playfully at Tonks. "Thank you for the information."
Before Tonks could freak out, he quickly got in and closed the door.
"Uncle Hunter, let's go back."
In the blink of an eye, only the bright red taillights of the Land Rover remained.
Not long after the car drove out of Oxford Street, Eric sent a video call request.
Although Vincent said it was not a big deal, as a father, he was very aware of his child's temper.
If it was just a small matter, Vincent wouldn't contact him at all.
"Tell me, what do you want me to do for you?"
In front of Hunter, Vincent said that he wanted to know the Queen and the Prime Minister's schedule for the next few days.
"Okay, wait for my news." Eric noticed Hunter's ugly expression.
He jokingly said, "Tsk tsk—old man, you're not that great a colonel."
Hunter immediately responded with an international friendly gesture, "You know the relationship between the army and the royal family, so why are you so proud?"
Eric's smile widened. "I heard that you and my son are going to form a new unit? Work hard and strive to be promoted to major general within two years."
Just promoted to colonel, and promoted to major general within two years? Even riding a rocket can't be that fast.
"Get lost! It's my bad luck to have to deal with you two!"
