Chapter 1202 This is a school, not a wizard court
The first class in the morning was Divination. Hermione, who had no classes, sat quietly in the auditorium watching videos.
The British wizarding community has openly banned all products related to Wayne Enterprises, but Prongs and Nobili brands are not among them. Unlike the German Ministry of Magic, it is determined to completely cut off everything related to Wayne Enterprises.
There hasn't been much major international news recently, but there have been a number of individual anchors who broadcast live discussions on the order of events.
Some of them believed that the Order of the Ordination was the second Wizarding Party, some believed that Vincent, who was born in Muggle, would not have the same extreme ideas as Grindelwald, and others tried to analyze the next target of the Order of the Ordination through two meetings in Berlin and the International Confederation of Wizards.
Time passed quickly. Hermione liked several comments supporting Vincent and the Order Society, and the bell rang for the end of get out of class.
The second period was Transfiguration class. She turned off the projection screen in front of her, got up early and went to the Transfiguration classroom on the second floor.
A few minutes later, students who had finished their divination class walked into the classroom one after another.
A few minutes later, Professor McGonagall, who could transform into a cat, finally arrived.
She came to the podium, looking very happy. "This year is the year of OWLs. I hope everyone can take the heavy course load seriously. It will be of great help to your future."
The fifth-year Transfiguration class was no longer like the past four years where they produced some small gadgets. The Vanishing Charm that McGonagall taught today was to make something disappear from nothing, which was something that could never be learned without a lot of practice.
Hermione succeeded as usual. As early as her third grade, she had completed the courses from fourth to seventh grade with the help of a time-turner. OWLs from existence to non-existence was not difficult for her at all, and she could even pass .s from non-existence to existence with ease.
"A very perfect Vanishing Charm, Miss Granger. I must give you five points."
Mag showed a rare look of relief.
Although Vincent is gone, the equally excellent Hermione is still here.
Gryffindor will definitely win this year's house cup.
Just as Mag was observing the little lions' progress in their studies, an uncomfortable sound of heels hitting the floor came from outside the corridor.
The tightly closed door of the Transfiguration classroom was opened rudely. Umbridge, wearing a pink spotted scarf, glanced around the classroom. Her cold eyes turned hot when she saw Hermione.
McGonagall's good mood disappeared instantly. She asked in a deep voice, "Professor Umbridge, is there anything I can help you with?"
Umbridge tilted her large head slightly towards her, pretending to be affable. "I'm terribly sorry to interrupt your class, Professor McGonagall."
You know it's class time but still come to disturb us. It's not your good intention.
McGonagall's face was expressionless, her lips pressed into a stern thin line.
Umbridge had a sticky fake smile on her face, and her voice was high and sweet, like spoiled syrup, "Professor McGonagall, in your decades of teaching career, have you ever seen a vicious incident of students attacking professors?"
The students all looked at Hermione, worried like they had been yesterday.
McGonagall walked down from the podium and slowly came to Umbridge, her body straight as a solid fortress.
Her voice was as hard as steel, "Professor Umbridge, I sympathize with what you went through yesterday, but I don't agree with what you said.
Assault means knowing that an act may cause harm and actively pursuing or allowing that harm to happen, and the act of aggression is characterized by a specific—"
"Ah—" Umbridge made a stilted sound, like a kitten whose tail had been stepped on. "I'm not here to attend your lectures, Professor McGonagall."
McGonagall raised her chin slightly. "At Hogwarts, we act based on facts and evidence, not on conjecture or... personal bias. Professor Umbridge, do you have solid evidence that the student's attack was intentional?"
If not, any accusation and punishment would be an abuse of power, and I believe even Cornelius Fudge himself would agree that the law should be interpreted based on its text."
The atmosphere suddenly froze, and Umbridge's stubby fingers clenched tightly together.
If there was evidence, she would have arrested the person as soon as she woke up last night.
"Very good, Professor McGonagall. Your stubborn attitude will not help in implementing the Ministry's educational reform policy. I will include your words word for word in my weekly report."
Mag's eyes were fearless. "Of course you have the freedom to write a report, but I think it's necessary to remind you that the basic requirement of a report is to restore the facts and maintain objective rigor."
Umbridge's big pink toad face turned a little purple, and her voice was panting, as if her disguise had been torn apart.
"I am the special education committee member appointed by the Ministry of Magic. I encountered an unknown attack on the night I entered the school. There was even a vicious incident of attacking the professor in the first class. I have reasonable reason to suspect that all this is related to Miss Granger."
"What reason?"
Umbridge glared at Hermione with malicious eyes. "She is very close to Vincent Wayne. How can a student who is associated with a wanted criminal be selected as a model student? I will take her back to the Ministry of Magic for investigation now."
Mag's expression froze, as if he had thought of something terrible.
"Dolores…this is a school, not a wizarding court."
Umbridge grinned triumphantly, "As the Special Education Commissioner, it is my duty to prevent another criminal from appearing among the students."
She walked past McGonagall and went straight to Hermione, "Miss Granger, as long as you accept the investigation of the Ministry of Magic, you can prove your innocence."
Her sinister and vicious face was exposed in front of the students. "Are you afraid? Is it because you feel guilty?"
Hermione stood up, trying to be polite, "Scared? Don't be ridiculous, Professor Umbridge."
She looked down at Umbridge, as if she was despising her existence. "The quill I used for copying seems to be inconsistent with the regulations. Since you want to investigate, please investigate thoroughly."
"You--" Umbridge's face changed drastically, and her whole face turned purple with anger.
Even the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor cannot bring items related to the Dark Arts without permission, not to mention that she is the Senior Undersecretary of the Ministry of Magic.
She originally thought that the students were ignorant and could not tell what dark magic items were, and even if they knew, they would not have the courage to expose the matter.
But Hermione is different. Since she can change the target of the black feather pen, she must know that it is a dark magic item.
Gryffindor has many brave students, and Umbridge didn't dare to take the risk. Once the matter was exposed, the good days she had fought so hard to regain would be over.
"I will...keep a close eye. Next time, Miss Granger, your little clever tricks from the book won't work."
