Chapter 798: Mutual Devotion, Two-Way Journey
The Wayne family has Chinese food for lunch today.
Under Vincent's extremely surprised gaze, Hermione, wearing an apron, walked into the kitchen with Evelyn.
He asked Eric blankly, "Dad, when did their relationship become so good?"
"We should go to a Chinese cooking class together in the next few days."
"Ah?" Vincent was surprised. "Did they go together?"
"You didn't know?" Eric showed an expression of sudden enlightenment, "Tsk tsk - you are quite lucky."
Vincent realized it later.
It turns out that Evelyn started cooking Chinese food because of Hermione.
Giving to each other and running towards each other is the most comfortable relationship between people.
Eric patted his shoulder and said, "Cherish her. She's a good girl."
Vincent looked at the busy figure in the kitchen and smiled foolishly unconsciously.
Maybe it was because the softest part of his heart was touched, and now he felt like a child who got two pieces of candy, feeling extremely satisfied and happy.
Eric walked away, shaking his head.
The silly son in the family is so lucky. His father is so envious.
After a simple and warm lunch, Vincent drove Hermione out for a ride.
In June, the streets of London are crowded with people, and with tourists from all over the world, traffic jams are common.
What's the problem with driving a Bugatti? The Rolls-Royce and Mercedes-Benz in front of me are still stuck in traffic.
No matter how good Vincent's driving skills were, he was still stumped by the dense traffic.
He looked at the cars lined up in a long snake in front of him and said, "Mr. Weasley's idea is really practical. I want to have a car that can not only fly but also become invisible."
Hermione thought of the metal boots he had held that morning, "Wouldn't flying boots be more convenient?"
Vincent gripped the steering wheel tightly. "Mechanics are the romance of men. I will definitely build a dream car that can go to the sky, into the ground, and into the sea."
His eyes were shining, and Hermione was stunned for a while.
She shyly looked away, "Yeah, flying boots are too conspicuous, cars are much more practical."
Vincent nodded silently. "The living standards of wizards are too low. If there were no restrictions of the Statute of Secrecy, I would never have been able to invent these things."
Even Muggles can imagine holographic projections through technology, and wizards can only imagine more imaginative ideas through magic.
However, due to the restrictions of the Statute of Secrecy, these creative ideas that would expose the magic world have all remained unknown, or even completely disappeared in the long river of history.
Until Vincent showed up.
But sooner or later, he will also be restricted by the Statute of Secrecy.
Just as Hermione was thinking about what he would do in the future, the traffic jam ahead finally began to move slowly forward.
Vincent stepped on the accelerator lightly and followed closely behind the Rolls-Royce.
The royal blue Bugatti slowly drove out of London.
He glanced at Hermione who was still in deep thought, and considerately lowered the car window to let the air circulate.
Perhaps because her breathing had become much smoother, she quickly finished her thoughts and quietly looked at Vincent who was concentrating on driving.
Repealing the Statute of Secrecy is as difficult as Brexit, and even if the Ministry of Magic takes the lead, it will require the consent of the majority of wizards.
Grindelwald once wanted to abolish this law by becoming the president of the International Confederation of Wizards, but unfortunately his overly unscrupulous approach ultimately led to failure.
Although Vincent's character is not as radical as his, he is not as gentle as Dumbledore.
It is conceivable that the wizarding world will usher in a change, but Hermione, as a witness and even participant, said nothing, but just looked at Vincent quietly.
As if in response to her burning gaze, he suddenly stepped on the accelerator and sped down on the highway.
The corners of Hermione's mouth rose slightly. She didn't feel any danger at all and even enjoyed the excitement brought by the speed.
From the nervousness she felt when she first followed him on a night tour to the worry-free and enjoyable life now, she knew that in the future she only needed to do one thing, and that was to trust him wholeheartedly.
It was almost evening when the royal blue Bugatti, which had been racing all afternoon, finally returned to London.
The fine is probably not going to be small, but Vincent has no psychological pressure at all.
The car is registered under his father's name, so he cannot be fined.
After returning from Nurmengardberg, his mentality and behavior had obviously changed a lot.
Hermione, who gently took his hand and got out of the car, felt that everything was fine now.
There is no need to consider external factors too much, and try to live according to your own most comfortable ideas.
I just feel sorry for Eric as a father.
Last time it was a credit card bill, this time it was a traffic ticket, and I don’t know what it will be next time.
Hermione couldn't help but smile.
She walked into the Eggplant Restaurant holding Vincent's hand.
The lobby manager JP recognized the two people at a glance.
Today, the young couple are dressed casually and look quite relaxed.
He stepped forward and greeted them warmly, "Welcome, Mr. Wayne, Miss Granger."
Under his guidance, the two of them went to the second floor and sat at the same table near the floor-to-ceiling glass window as last time.
"Should we let Chef Ramsay decide on tonight's dinner?"
Hermione nodded at Vincent.
JP smiled bitterly, "What a coincidence, our chef is off today."
"I see..." Hermione felt a little regretful.
Vincent winked at JP, motioning him to come over and have a private chat.
My girlfriend is so thoughtful and has learned how to cook Chinese food. As her boyfriend, how can I not show some appreciation?
"Mr. Wayne?"
"I would like to borrow your kitchen."
JP readily agreed.
To maintain the mystery, Vincent made the excuse that he wanted to visit the kitchen before deciding on tonight's menu.
Hermione, who was sitting alone at the table, was not left out. JP arranged for a pianist and a violinist to play music.
The chef of Eggplant Restaurant is the famous Hell's Kitchen God who is known for his strictness. Even in the kitchen he maintains his usual high standards.
Clean, tidy and efficient, this is Vincent's first impression when he walked into the kitchen.
Even when Chef Ramsay is not there, the chefs can still serve meals in an orderly manner under the leadership of the sous chef.
It was a pity not to hear the characteristic sarcasm of the British accent, but he had rolled up his sleeves and put on his apron, ready for a big fight.
Blanch the fresh mushrooms in boiling water, then take them out and quickly slice them with a knife.
Pour the cream into the pot and bring to a boil, then add the chopped onion, corn kernels and mushroom slices.
While waiting, pick two tomatoes and cut them into extra thin slices along with the buffalo cheese. Then place the tomatoes, basil leaves, and cheese on a plate in that order, and finally drizzle some balsamic vinegar on the surface.
The simple salad has just been completed and the cream of mushroom soup in the pot is ready.
It took less than 5 minutes in total. Although they were just two ordinary appetizers in the eyes of the busy chefs, Vincent's smooth cooking was very beautiful and as pleasing to the eye as their chef.
