Chapter 929: A Terrible Day
After breakfast, the fourth grade lion cubs walked out of the castle.
After passing through a wet vegetable patch, we arrived at the third greenhouse where we would go for this herbal medicine class.
Sprout arrived early and was examining a bunch of black plants that looked like slugs.
After all the students arrived, she turned around and introduced them to everyone, "This is the Babo tuber, a plant with extremely high value."
After studying pharmacy for so long, it has become a consensus that the weirder the appearance, the more valuable it is.
Sprout took off his dragon leather gloves with a smile, "The most valuable part of the Babo tuber is its pus, which needs to be squeezed by hand. You have to collect its pus."
"What?" Seamus asked in disgust.
"Pus." Sprout answered his doubts with a smile, "You heard it right, Finnigan, it's the pus of the Babo tuber."
She put the gloves she had removed into her pocket. "Listen, you are going to collect the pus in these bottles. Don't forget to wear your dragonhide gloves. Undiluted babo tuber pus can cause unusual damage to the skin."
Although the process of milking the tubers is disgusting, it also gives people a strange sense of satisfaction, just like milking a cow.
When each bulge was squeezed, a large amount of sticky yellow-green liquid would spurt out, along with a pungent smell of gasoline.
The students collected the pus in bottles as instructed by the professor. By the end of the get out of class, the students who made the most progress had already collected a bottle.
Vincent, who had just collected the first bottle, looked at the two full bottles in front of Neville in surprise.
"Merlin, you're progressing too fast."
Neville picked up another tuber a little embarrassedly, "It's the best I can do."
After saying that, he squeezed it gently with great skill, and a large amount of pus flowed into the bottle through the small hole.
Vincent was stunned.
Whether it is the control of strength or the choice of angle, it is impeccable. It seems that Neville has a high talent in this area.
With a look of satisfaction on his face, he picked up a tuber, looked at it for a few seconds, found the most suitable angle, and then squeezed it gently with the appropriate force.
No one is a waste all their life, everyone has things they are good at or not good at.
Sprout came over just as Neville finished collecting the third bottle.
She nodded, then clapped her hands, "Okay, everyone stop.
Madam Pomfrey will be particularly happy. The pus of the barbo tuber is the best medicine for treating stubborn acne. With so much collected, she can finally stop those students who use radical means to remove acne. "
Hannah from Hufflepuff House lowered her voice. "Like poor Eloise Midgen, who used a spell to remove the pimples on her face, and the result was... well..."
Sprout also sighed, "Silly girl..."
She shook her head. "But Madam Pomfrey finally put her nose back on. I hope she won't do something stupid like that again."
A deep and rich bell sound rang out from the castle, across the damp ground, and into the third greenhouse.
Sprout announced the end of get out of class, and the Hufflepuff badgers returned to the castle for Transfiguration class.
The little Gryffindor lions walked along the lawn towards the wooden house on the edge of the Forbidden Forest.
Hagrid was waiting outside the cabin for the students to arrive.
The oversized moleskin coat he was wearing had many holes in it. In his left hand he was holding the collar of the large hunting dog Fang, and at his feet were several huge open wooden boxes.
"Woo woo--" Yaya kept trying to break free from the collar and seemed to be very interested in the things in the box.
After hearing the subtle "bang bang bang" sounds, Vincent looked at Hermione beside him in tacit understanding.
During the entire school year last year, the two of them spent most of their time in the Forbidden Forest.
Hearing the familiar explosion, the two men smiled knowingly and walked over quickly.
"Good morning!" Hagrid greeted the little lions. "We still need to wait for the Slytherin students. They won't want to miss the blast-tailed skrewt."
"Huh?" Ron came forward curiously, "Say it again?"
Hagrid pointed to the open crate.
"Disgusting!" Lavender screamed and jumped behind Ron.
She was right. No matter who saw the blast-tailed skrewt, the first word that would come to mind was "disgusting".
They are grayish white and look like large, deformed lobsters without their shells.
The head could not be seen, and many legs were sticking out in all directions, looking very scary and sticky.
Each crate contained about a hundred skrewts, each about six inches long.
They climbed on top of each other and kept hitting the inner walls of the wooden box.
In addition to its ugly appearance, it also emits a strong smell like rotten fish and shrimp.
Every now and then a few sparks would shoot out from their tails, and then with a soft "pop" they would move forward a few inches.
"They are all freshly hatched." Hagrid said proudly, "You can raise them yourself. This is a big project!"
The little lions retreated subconsciously, including Vincent and Hermione.
A cold voice came: "Why do you want to raise them?"
The Slytherin snakes arrived, with Draco strutting in the lead.
"I mean, what do they do? What are they good for?"
Hagrid was confused by the question and opened his mouth wide, thinking hard.
After a few seconds, he said gruffly, "Malfoy, that's for the next class, just feed them today."

His big hands tightened the collar that bound Yaya, "Okay, I've prepared ant eggs, frog livers, and green snakes. Everyone try a little of each and see if they'll eat it."
Hermione frowned and looked at Vincent, "Those things last year couldn't be..."
Vincent swallowed. "Obviously, the blast-tailed skrewt is another new species."
Hagrid is really capable of making a fuss. The species that could make explosive noises last year haven't appeared yet, and a new species has just been hatched.
Hiding behind the two men, Seamus muttered, "First the pus from the tubers, then this. What a terrible day..."
Harry, standing nearby, trembled as he turned the club badge into a glove.
He walked to the barrel filled with frog livers and grabbed a handful despite his nausea, then went to the wooden box.
Out of deep affection for Hagrid, he carefully placed the frog liver in the corner of the wooden box and tried to lure the blasting-tailed skrewt over.
"Pah——" They had no reaction at all and continued to spray forward randomly.
The same situation happened to Vincent on the other side.
Hermione looked closely at the skrewts in the crate. "I'm pretty sure they don't have mouths."
"Not really." Vincent, wearing gloves, reached out and grabbed a blasting-tailed skrewt.
Just as he was about to turn over, a crisp explosion suddenly sounded.
The flames sprayed on a transparent magic barrier, and Hermione was so scared that she hugged his arms tightly.
"Ah!" A scream sounded.
Hagrid ran over to Dean with a panicked look on his face.
"Its tail exploded!" Dean raised his burned arm, "It hurts so much!"
"Uh..." Hagrid nodded, "Yes, that's exactly what happens when they explode."
Vincent quickly put the skrewt back.
If he hadn't reacted quickly and activated the defensive barrier of Flamel's ring in time, that one blow would have burned at least a small tuft of his hair.
Hermione loosened her arms around him with lingering fear, "Hagrid should have told us in advance."
Vincent grabbed a handful of ant eggs and put them into the wooden box. "I finally know why his clothes have so many holes."
