Chapter 618 Next time, could I touch you just once more? Just once.
The day of Fu Xing's full moon arrived in the blink of an eye, and the house was filled with family and friends who came from the moon to offer their congratulations.
Kiana☆'s gaze swept across the crowd before she belatedly slapped her forehead:
"Oh dear, I forgot about Dad!"
A faint glint appeared in her eyes, and her thoughts stirred slightly.
On the other side, under the starry sky of Forlos, Siegfried was sprawled on the grass, sighing and groaning.
Greta sat beside him, holding a paintbrush in her hand, earnestly sketching his lifeless expression onto the canvas.
Suddenly, a purple light enveloped Siegfried without warning, and Greta tilted her head slightly:
"It seems Mr. Siegfried is leaving."
Before Siegfried could react or even utter a cry of surprise, he landed sprawled into the room with a thud, instantly becoming the center of attention.
Seeing his disheveled and comical appearance, everyone couldn't help but fall silent.
"I...I'm back?!"
Siegfried's loud voice had barely begun when Kiana swiftly covered his mouth.
Siegfried immediately fell silent, nodded hastily, and when he pried her hands away, he even breathed very softly and slowly.
He tiptoed and scrambled to the crib, cautiously peering at the little one in the swaddling clothes. Seeing the faint smile on her delicate, rosy face, he softened his voice, his tone filled with lingering fear:
“My dear, Grandpa thought he would never see you again.”
In a corner unnoticed by anyone, Yulandel stared intently at Fu Ming, her gaze constantly shifting between his head and back, as if she were searching for something.
Fu Ming felt uncomfortable under her gaze and spoke first:
What are you looking at?
A faint blush suddenly spread across Durandal's cheeks. She hurriedly looked away and asked in a low voice:
"Hmm... Ah Ming, where are your cat ears and tail?"
Fu Ming: "...That's all."
Durandal blinked, a hint of regret in her eyes. The question she was about to ask was swallowed back, and she only muttered softly:
"I thought... I thought it had always been there."
Upon hearing this, Fu Ming caught a glimpse of her slightly disappointed expression out of the corner of his eye, and the corner of his mouth twitched slightly.
The next second, two pairs of fluffy cat ears suddenly appeared, their soft tips twitching slightly.
Durandal's eyes lit up instantly, like stars that had been lit. She subconsciously reached out and carefully touched the soft, velvety texture with her fingertips, her voice filled with undisguised surprise:
"Hmm...it's still so soft."
Fu Ming's body stiffened, his ear tips instantly turning bright red, almost bleeding. He awkwardly turned his face away and gave a nonchalant hum.
"Hurry up, don't let Kiana☆ see this."
The two were frozen in place when a questioning voice suddenly came from the side:
What are you two doing in the corner?
The one who spoke was Alicia, who was holding a small cake, followed by Klein carrying a fruit basket.
Alicia's gaze swept around before quickly settling on the two soft cat ears atop Fu Ming's head, her eyes curving into crescents:
"Oh my, let me touch it too!"
Fu Ming's face flushed bright red instantly, and his furry ear tips trembled violently.
No sooner had she finished speaking than Rosalia's scream came from not far away. The two sisters had somehow gotten close and were now peering over from behind the potted plant, their eyes wide open.
"Lilia, you saw it! Cat ears! Cat ears! That's amazing!"
Rosalia jumped around excitedly, almost knocking over a vase next to her, but Lilia grabbed her arm.
The commotion quickly attracted the attention of others. Fu Ming immediately composed himself, and with a flick of his finger, the cat ears silently retracted.
Alicia's fingertips hovered in mid-air, watching as the soft cat ears disappeared from Fu Ming's hair. She blinked, feigning regret:
"Oh dear, so stingy, won't even let you touch it!"
Klein, carrying the fruit basket, gently nudged Alicia's arm and whispered a reminder:
"Lady Alicia, stop fooling around, everyone's looking over here."
Sure enough, everyone's eyes were drawn to this side, and even Siegfried temporarily forgot to sit by the crib and play with the little one, craning his neck to look into the corner.
Fu Ming grunted and turned to walk towards a less crowded area, but Rosalia suddenly blocked his way.
"Big brother, big brother!" Rosalia shook his arm, her eyes shining like stars. "Transform again! I haven't seen enough! Lilia wants to see too, right?"
Lilia crossed her arms, nodded with a stern face:
"Hmm, let's change it again. Lilia wants to touch the cat ears too."
Fu Ming was cornered and then noticed Durandal and Alicia standing to the side, their eyes filled with anticipation. He sighed helplessly.
Those two pairs of fluffy cat ears quietly popped out again, their tips trembling slightly, so soft that you couldn't help but want to touch them.
"Wow!" Rosalia cheered.
The commotion finally drew Kiana's attention. Looking at the cat ears on Fu Ming's head, she smiled and tilted her head, asking:
"Ah Ming, I thought you didn't like cat ears, but what are you trying to do by showing them to your sister~"
Fu Ming: "..." Oh no, there's murderous intent!
He was about to put his cat ears back when Kiana☆ reached out and pressed his head down, gently rubbing the soft cat ears with her fingertips, commenting:
"Feels good to the touch, but... hurry up and change back..."
Before I could finish speaking, the little one in the crib suddenly babbled and waved his little hands, as if he had also been attracted by the commotion.
Siegfried quickly turned around, picked up the little guy, and shouted to the crowd:
"Come quick, come quick, Xiaoxing is awake!"
Everyone's attention was instantly diverted, and they all rushed to the crib.
Fu Ming took the opportunity to hide his cat ears and breathed a sigh of relief, but then felt his clothes being gently tugged.
Turning around, I saw Durandal standing behind me, her cheeks slightly flushed, whispering:
"Um... next time, could I touch you again? Just once?"
Looking at her earnest and expectant expression, Fu Ming felt a strange sense of guilt and awkwardly hummed in response.
Rita then walked slowly over carrying an exquisite dessert tray, her hair swaying gently with her movements, a hint of probing flashing in her eyes.
His gaze fell on Durandal's flushed cheeks, and then he caught a glimpse of the two figures standing very close together. His fingertips unconsciously gripped the edge of the tray, and his heart immediately sirens blared.
'Oh no, what happened while I was away? Why is Lady Durandal looking like this? Could she have been bullied by Mr. Fu Ming?'
She still wore a polite smile, but her tone carried a hint of tentative gentleness:
"Lady Durandal, Mr. Fu Ming, please try the freshly made macarons and mousse. They are the sweetness you prefer."
As he spoke, he gently handed the tray to the two of them, but his gaze kept shifting back and forth between them, never letting his eyes wander.
Upon hearing this, Durandal naturally picked up a light blue macaron.
Fu Ming also noticed Rita's scrutinizing gaze and felt uncomfortable all over. He picked up a piece of chocolate mousse, whispered "thank you," and tried to avoid the gaze by eating the dessert.
Kelita's gaze remained fixed on him, her eyes practically brimming with wariness, as if she were guarding against some heart-stealing thief.
