Chapter 2919 Clues and Evidence
Qin Feng opened his mouth, but didn't say anything. He lit a cigarette and smoked it. After a long while, he asked, "Didn't you want revenge? Didn't you want to take over the Lixin Group?"
"How do I apply? How do I get Lixin Group?" Yang Yuxin asked again with a smile.
"Do you remember the question I asked you on the day Shao Hongli died? I asked you if you could bring down the Yang family this time, and you said no. I asked you how long it would take, and you said you didn't know."
Qin Feng thought back and realized that it was indeed true; it was this sentence that made Yang Yuxin completely lose confidence.
"That was before. Now I can tell you, that day is not far away," Qin Feng said firmly.
"It's too late, I have no chance now." Yang Yuxin shook her head.
"Why? Are you afraid Yang Zhijie will retaliate against you? Don't worry, I can guarantee your safety," Qin Feng said.
Yang Yuxin shook her head again: "I'm not afraid of death, and I don't need anyone's protection. I'm just tired, and I don't want to pursue revenge anymore, these vague and meaningless things."
"I've made up my mind, and you don't need to try to persuade me anymore. I came here tonight to tell you about this," Yang Yuxin said, standing up.
"When are you leaving?" Qin Feng asked.
"It's not clear yet. I'm still waiting for the visa. I'll leave as soon as the visa is issued. It should be soon," Yang Yuxin said.
Qin Feng opened his mouth again, and finally said, "Okay, since you've made up your mind, I won't try to persuade you anymore. Just let me know when you're sure you're leaving."
"Okay, I will." Yang Yuxin nodded and then walked outside.
"By the way, do you remember when I told you last time that I studied Jiangnan cuisine with the head chef for several months?" Yang Yuxin suddenly turned back and asked Qin Feng as she walked to the door.
Qin Feng paused for a moment, then nodded.
Yang Yuxin had previously hired a chef specializing in Jiangnan cuisine at her Western restaurant, and then spent several months learning how to cook Jiangnan dishes from this chef. Last time, she carefully prepared several Jiangnan dishes for Qin Feng, but Ding Wenbo suddenly showed up, and the dishes didn't taste very good at all.
"When you have some free time, I'll cook a few dishes for you to try. It won't be a waste of the months I've spent learning," Yang Yuxin said.
"Okay!" Qin Feng nodded.
Yang Yuxin gave Qin Feng a smile, pushed open the door, walked out, and closed the door.
Qin Feng watched Yang Yuxin close the door for a full cigarette before returning to his study, where he plugged the USB drive into the computer and began to examine it carefully.
The next day at noon, Qin Feng received a research team from the province and had lunch with them before returning to his office. However, Qin Feng did not rest at noon. After returning to his office, he sat down and started reading documents. Normally, Qin Feng would take a short nap.
Qin Feng had barely sat down when someone knocked on the door, and Zhang Xinming led Jiang Yunpeng in.
Zhang Xinming poured Jiang Yunpeng a cup of tea, then closed the door and left.
"I'm taking the afternoon flight to Xidu to report to Secretary Zhao of the Provincial Party Committee. This work includes the Shao Hongli case, as well as the evidence for the true cause of Qi Yaqiu's death that you've been secretly investigating. You've been investigating this for almost three months now, so you should have made some progress by now, right?" Qin Feng asked directly.
When asked this, Jiang Yunpeng's expression turned somewhat grim: "Mayor... we have indeed made some gains, but we can't say we haven't made any at all. We've found quite a few clues, but none of them can be considered real evidence. What we have now can be used to suspect the Yang family, but it can't prove that the Yang family was involved."
“That means there’s no evidence. What the higher-ups want is evidence, not clues. Why? It’s been several months already.” Qin Feng said seriously.
"Mayor, the subjective reason is my lack of ability, and I apologize to you." Jiang Yunpeng said sincerely.
"What are the objective reasons?" Qin Feng asked.
“There are many objective reasons. First, the other party did a very clean job. They left some clues, but destroyed all the evidence that could directly prove that Qi Yaqiu was killed by a car. Chang Yunbing did a very professional and thorough job in this regard.”
"Secondly, for the same reason, if we want to keep it secret and not alert the Yang family at all, our investigation can only be carried out in secret, which is very difficult and inefficient."
"Third, there are too many things to handle, making it impossible to concentrate our efforts on investigating this matter. There were several projects causing trouble before, and then there was the Shao Hongli case..." Jiang Yunpeng explained.
This time, Qin Feng wasn't angry because what Jiang Yunpeng said was true, and he knew that Jiang Yunpeng wasn't the type to shirk responsibility.
"Stand behind me, I'm going to show you something," Qin Feng said.
Jiang Yunpeng found it strange, stood up, and walked behind Qin Feng.
Qin Feng turned on the computer on the table, took out a USB flash drive from the drawer, plugged it in, and then started playing the video inside.
Upon seeing the content played, Jiang Yunpeng's eyes widened, and he said with a trembling voice, "This...this...this is Qi Yaqiu's car's dashcam?"
"Take a close look, and then you can speak," Qin Feng said casually, lighting a cigarette for himself.
Qin Feng had already read it, even repeatedly, so he didn't look at it again. However, Jiang Yunpeng, who was standing behind him, looked at it very carefully, his eyes wide open.
Qin Feng didn't play the video continuously, but only played the parts he considered important, skipping over the rest of the irrelevant parts.
Even so, the video took a full half hour to watch, and Qin Feng smoked two cigarettes.
After the video finished playing, Qin Feng turned off the computer and unplugged the USB drive.
Jiang Yunpeng slowly walked back to his desk and sat down, still completely dazed.
"Tell me your thoughts," Qin Feng asked Jiang Yunpeng casually.
"Where...where did this come from? I tried everything to get my hands on this dashcam, but no matter what information I get, the memory card has already been destroyed by Chang Yunbing's people." Jiang Yunpeng asked incredulously.
"I don't want you to interrogate me; I want to know what your thoughts are after reading this," Qin Feng said with a smile.
"With this, although we can't directly prove that the Yang family caused the car accident, we can conclude that the driver was the traitor who betrayed Qi Yaqiu by informing the other party of Qi Yaqiu's itinerary through the last record inside. At the same time, we can determine that this was a deliberate murder by recording the path and speed of the oncoming truck."
"Therefore, this video can completely overturn the previous judgment that Qi Yaqiu's death was a traffic accident. This is a completely intentional murder case, and it can be overturned."
"At the same time, although we cannot directly prove that the Yang family planned it, the fact that the driver's son went to work at Lixin Group and received remuneration that was inconsistent with his actual work content can reasonably lead to suspicion or even corroboration that Yang Zhijie and Lixin Group are directly related to this case."
"In addition, through the video content before and after, we can grasp multiple directions for the investigation..." Jiang Yunpeng said, somewhat excited.
