Chapter 1186 Corvus Glaive's Operation: When the Monster Crashes into the Temple
Thor's heart sank, and he finally realized that he seemed to have made a huge mistake.
The key factors that could trigger Ragnarok are only the Eternal Flame and Surtur's Crown. However, since the Eternal Flame is in Asgard, Surtur's Crown should be kept as far away from Asgard as possible.
Leaving it in Muspelheim, entrusting it to someone else for safekeeping, or even just throwing it into some spatial wormhole is much more reliable than bringing it directly back to Asgard.
"How about that? Now you realize you're an idiot, right!" Rocket sneered. "Not only is your combat power inferior to Hela's, but you don't even have a brain."
"Putting aside their positions, it's not necessarily a bad thing that the goddess of death sits on the throne of Asgard. She may be a tyrant, but she certainly won't be a foolish one."
If Odin only had the three of you as children, I would definitely vote for her.
“Loki,” Thor skillfully changed the subject, “he’s half to blame. When I brought Surtur’s crown back, he was dressed as Odin watching a play.”
"He could have reminded me, but he didn't say anything."
He did it on purpose, he must have done it on purpose.
"That's a bit of a stretch to shift the blame!" Rocket rolled his eyes at him speechlessly, then changed the subject, "But fate is truly amazing. The absurd thing you did just happens to be our chance to escape from prison."
“We can’t do that,” Thor said immediately. “Now that we’ve figured out the key to starting Ragnarok, we might be able to stop this disaster.”
Thinking of this, he pounded on the cell door, "Guards, guards, I have a very important report to make."
Let me go see Hela, let me go see the Goddess of Death..."
"Don't waste your energy." Proxima Midnight sneered disdainfully. "The dungeon guards are all Hela's undead soldiers; they can't understand what you're saying."
"There's still a chance." Rocket crossed his arms, his relaxed tone giving Thor a glimmer of hope.
"what chance?"
"Your mother, Queen Frigg."
"She'll definitely come to visit you in the dungeon, and then..." Rocket clapped his hands, "Why don't you just tell her?"
"Yes, yes." Solton breathed a sigh of relief, his anxiety lessening. "Rabbit, you're so clever! How come I didn't think of that!"
"Believe me, that's normal." Rocket said hurtful things as if it were perfectly normal. "If you had half my IQ, we wouldn't be locked up here."
“You have no chance,” Proxima Midnight interjected with a mocking tone. “Thanos ordered us to infiltrate Asgard and steal the Space Stone.”
We all tacitly agreed that we'd only have a chance when Ragnarok arrives, but we didn't expect Ragnarok to be so simple; it saved us a lot of trouble.
"What does she mean?" Thor frowned. "Is she deliberately trying to spoil the mood?"
"That's really baffling." Rocket shrugged, then poured cold water on Thor's mood. "It's probably a warning not to get too excited too soon."
"You do have a chance, but it's not a big chance."
The prophecy of Ragnarok was not unfounded; everything that happened in Asgard during this period was both foreshadowing and omens.
"And who knows when your mother will arrive? If Ragnarok happens before she arrives, that would be a real problem."
But it's not a complete loss; at least we got a chance to escape.
Upon hearing this, Thor's face twitched involuntarily.
Whether Ragnarok arrives or Asgard is destroyed has little impact on outsiders like them, but it's a different story for him. No one wants their home, on which they depend for survival, to be destroyed.
call!
Thor took a deep breath and silently squatted down by the wall to pray for the fate of Asgard.
“Odin, Allfather, I know you are watching over us from Valhalla.”
May you protect Asgard and safeguard the land where your people dwell...
“That’s how people are,” Rocket shook his head. “When they feel powerless, they always place their hopes on something vague and unrealistic.”
......
Hela returned to Asgard, and her undead army gradually returned to their posts.
No one noticed that Corvus Blade, who was nailed to the wall and should have been dead, suddenly began to breathe faintly.
The weapon 'Peerless Blade' beside him, ignored by everyone, emitted an extremely faint pale white light, which sometimes burst forth and sometimes receded, as if corresponding to the breath of Deathblade.
This 'Peerless Blade' has a powerful function: it can house souls.
Corvus Glaive's soul resides within it, and as long as the blade is not destroyed, he can be resurrected an infinite number of times.
Not many people knew this secret, but his wife, Proxima Midnight, was not among them, so she retained a sense of faith even while in the dungeon.
In present-day Asgard, with Thor captured and almost all of his people having fled, the so-called 'rebellious traitors' pose no threat whatsoever.
Hela's vigilance will decrease to some extent, and that's when Corvus Glaive's opportunity will come. Who would believe that a dead person could come back to life?
After a long while, Corvus Glaive slowly opened his eyes.
A sharp pain shot through his chest, and he instinctively looked down, seeing the black longsword. His memory returned to the moment before Hela nailed him to death.
Although he was a highly professional assassin, he couldn't help but shudder when he recalled Hela's sword strike.
He died before he could even react; the difference in strength was simply an insurmountable chasm.
Dead Blade gathered his thoughts and forced himself to calm down.
He first carefully observed his surroundings, making sure no undead soldiers were patrolling before gently pulling the Night Sky Sword from his chest.
Blood flows from the wound, and the pierced skin and organs slowly wriggle and repair themselves.
Corvus Glaive staggered, tossed the Night Sky Sword aside, and then picked up the 'Peerless Blade'.
"We can't wait any longer; we must act as soon as possible."
"I am dead," thought to himself, and then carefully crept toward the direction of the Celestial Palace.
......
Outside of Asgard.
On the Monster returning from Bohart, Loki and Banner listened, bewildered, to Wanda's account of what had happened in Asgard while they were away.
"So... Thor got captured? The last of Asgard's people were also sent away by the Rainbow Bridge?" Loki was bewildered for a few seconds, but quickly revealed a gloating smile.
"That's fantastic! Double happiness!"
My dear brother finally got to experience the "pleasure" of being in jail.
“Loki,” Wanda said, looking at him with annoyance, “Thor is truly blessed to have a brother like you!”
“I was adopted,” Loki said with a self-righteous laugh.
“As expected.” Banner shrugged. “The unexpected did happen. I had a feeling it would happen, but Thor did make the choice he would have made.”
"Master, what's next?"
"Wait, wait for Ragnarok, for the end of the world." Aaron rubbed the emerald ring on his thumb, then pulled up his sleeve to look at the family mark on his arm that shimmered faintly, as if it had come to life. "This might be the last job I do in this universe before I go home."
"Just wait?" Loki asked tentatively. "Aren't we going to try to save Thor? I bet he desperately wants someone to save him right now."
“He chose this path himself, and I always respect other people’s choices,” Aaron said casually. “Besides, I don’t think he needs any emergency treatment.”
"Alarm! Alarm! Alarm!!!"
The Monster's AI, 'Prophet,' suddenly issued an alarm. A red exclamation mark appeared in the center of the large screen, and the lights in the control room suddenly switched to red, creating a strong sense of unease.
Hey!
Aaron couldn't help but swear, "Are you kidding me?"
"Saul and the others were just put in jail, and we're already in trouble?"
"Prophet, what's going on?" Banner asked calmly.
"A spatial node has been detected opening, right in front of the monster."
"Ok?"
As soon as the prophet finished speaking, everyone turned to look ahead.
Suddenly, a grid composed of regular hexagons appeared in the deep universe. The center of the grid rapidly receded, and a spaceship more than ten times larger than the Monster flew out from it and stopped a few hundred meters away from the Monster.
“Thanos.” Loki pursed his lips and said, somewhat reluctantly, “The Sanctuary ship, Thanos’s personal vehicle.”
"You're saying this is a spaceship?" Banner exclaimed, his mouth agape. "This is clearly a moving planet."
“That’s not wrong,” Loki said noncommittally. “At least that’s how you describe it in terms of size.”
"Isn't this a coincidence?" Aaron chuckled. "I never expected we'd meet in this place and in this way."
"As expected, he came for the space stone."
I think we have no conflict with him for the time being; we're all waiting for Ragnarok.
“But that’s not necessarily what he thinks,” Wanda said. “He might worry that we might get in the way of his plans.”
“That’s for sure, but there’s nothing he can do about it,” Aaron said calmly. “Both of our ships are outside Asgard.”
If he dares to launch an attack, Hela will definitely notice the flames of the explosion.
“I think we should activate defense mode first,” Loki said sullenly. “Just because he’s not attacking now doesn’t mean he won’t attack after he achieves his goal.”
"Prophet, activate defense mode," Banner immediately ordered.
"Okay, Captain."
"Wait a minute," Aaron waved his hand to interrupt, "Defense mode consumes a lot of energy, so it's better to activate it at crucial moments."
"Yes, revered Creator."
Activate pre-defense mode; the monster will activate its shield before the enemy launches an attack.
Meanwhile, Thanos was also somewhat bewildered as he looked at the relatively tiny spaceship opposite him.
According to the intelligence sent back by Corvus Glaive and Proxima Midnight, this spaceship was likely a refugee ship transporting Asgardians to Borhart.
But the current situation is clearly not right; the spaceship is just sitting there quietly, showing no sign of moving.
And this is such a coincidence!
He ran into them as soon as he arrived, making it hard not to suspect that the other party was deliberately waiting for him to come.
The Space Stones cannot be lost, and this spaceship probably doesn't want to attract Hela's attention.
But what if? He didn't think he could compete with the Goddess of Death with just the three Infinity Stones he had.
"Whether intentional or coincidental, it must be erased," Thanos murmured, then slowly clenched his left fist, and the Reality Stone embedded in the Infinity Gauntlet emitted a red light.
"Gift crab!"
A few seconds before Thanos used the Reality Stone, Aaron foresaw the spaceship turning into foam and instinctively stood up from his seat.
"Damn it! They have absolutely no sportsmanship!"
"What happened?" Wanda asked, puzzled.
I'll explain later.
Aaron scratched his head, his thoughts in disarray, feeling utterly helpless.
He could stop Thanos's attack, whether by using his mental dimension or by directly confronting it with magic.
The problem is that once he does that, Hela will be able to spot them in the next second.
What should we do? Should we abandon this spaceship?
But why? He's been in this universe for so long and has never suffered such a loss.
He would tolerate it if it were a powerful being above even the Heavenly Father, for a small act of impatience could ruin a great plan.
But does Thanos deserve it? He wants to turn them into dust in the universe without even saying a word. If he backs down today, he'll be so frustrated.
Suddenly, a bright idea flashed through Aaron's mind, and a playful smile appeared on his lips.
"Prophet, activate all weapon systems, target Asgard."
"Yes, great Creator."
The moment the words left his mouth, all thirty-two energy cannons turned and aimed at Asgard.
The magic cluster cannon also began to accumulate energy, and a dark purple energy ball rapidly expanded at the muzzle, devouring the surrounding light.
"Wait! What are you doing?" Loki asked in a panic.
"Shut up."
Thanos was about to alter reality and erase the spaceship in front of him when he noticed this scene that broke his defenses.
If this attack had landed in Asgard, he would have faced the wrath of the goddess of death.
He has erased the culprits, and no one else can take the blame but him.
Without a second thought, Thanos hastily changed his attack target, using the power of the Reality Stone to intercept the launched projectiles and turn them into dust particles.
call!
After doing all this, Thanos breathed a sigh of relief.
Before he could react, the temple received a message from the monster:
I understand what you want to do; our goals are not conflicting, and we are wary of the same things.
You don't bother me, and I won't bother you.
"Funny little devil."
Thanos chuckled softly and slowly loosened his clenched left fist.
He could tell from those two sentences that the person in charge of the spaceship was a young man, but to threaten him in such a way that was almost mutually destructive was quite remarkable.
Since that's the case, let's maintain a non-aggression pact for now!
Gulu!
Loki swallowed hard, looking at Aaron who had just sent the message, and asked, "Was Thanos trying to wipe us out just now?"
Aaron didn't answer directly, but pointed to his temple. "Precognition magic. I saw a glimpse of the future and how unreasonable Thanos and the Reality Stone are."
