Chapter 1197 Loki's Magic Exhaustion, His Bug-Level Ability to Modify Reality
Tear it apart!
Thanos ripped off his shattered armor, leaving him with only a tattered shirt on top.
"I'm suddenly feeling a bit fortunate now. I'm fortunate that you're not the new Sorcerer Supreme, and I'm fortunate that the Ancient One didn't give you the Time Stone. Otherwise, I think collecting all six Infinity Stones would have become extremely difficult," Thanos said sincerely.
“You’re right.” Aaron nodded noncommittally. “If the Time Stone were in my hands, I could outplay you in a heartbeat.”
"But I have no desire to be the Sorcerer Supreme!"
They were given the mission of protecting the Earth and the Time Stone, but they didn't receive any reward whatsoever.
This isn't the worst part; the worst part is that you gradually become deeply bound to Vishanti, and in the end, you might even sacrifice your soul.
"I don't have such noble virtues as to sell myself into servitude and do unpaid work to protect the Earth."
Strange: ......
boom!
A dull sound suddenly rang out, and Aaron and Thanos looked in the direction of the sound, only to see an incredibly tall fire giant fall to the ground.
Hela?
"No, it's not Hela." Aaron noticed the shadow disappearing rapidly on Surtur's ankle and raised an eyebrow in surprise. "Was it Loki?"
"Loki." Thor, back on the Rainbow Bridge, stared incredulously at his pale-faced brother. "You did that?"
“Shadow magic, that’s my signature move,” Loki said proudly, though the cold sweat on his forehead and his constantly twitching eyelids showed just how exhausted he was.
"Are you alright?" Thor asked worriedly.
"My magic is exhausted, I just need to rest for a while."
"You don't look like you've run out of magic."
"I'm overdrawn, seriously overdrawn," Loki cursed, barely managing to stay awake.
"Nonsense, your body won't be able to handle it."
“If I hadn’t been fooling around, you would have been killed by Surtur’s sword just now.” Loki finished speaking and lay down on the giant wolf’s back, his voice becoming weak. “Believe it or not, I’m out of strength. From now on, you’ll have to rely on me.”
puff!puff!puff!
Hela, the goddess of death, seized the opportunity when Surtur fell, gathering all the spikes under her feet and smashing them down on him.
In just a moment, dark green spikes pinned Surtur's limbs, and the massive trunk pierced his chest like a spear.
Although these 'weapons' melted away at a visible rate under the burning of the eternal flames, they temporarily sealed Surtur's movements.
......
"All they've done is in vain; they can't stop Ragnarok," Thanos said with a meaningful smile. "Today is the end of Asgard."
"None of your business," Aaron snapped impatiently, but he was also getting anxious.
Loki is finished, and although Surtur is temporarily under control, his power continues to grow.
With the situation shifting, Hela will be in real danger once he escapes.
"It has nothing to do with me, but it definitely has something to do with you."
"Heh!" Aaron sneered. "I don't mind letting you experience the thrill of the past again. This time, you won't even have a chance to escape with the Infinite Stones."
"Do you think I would give you such an opportunity?" Thanos raised his clenched left fist, and the blue light on the Space Stone shone brightly. A layer of light blue energy wave spread rapidly outward from him.
"Seal off space?"
"To be precise, your space is locked. Unless you can leave this area, you can't use the portal or the mirror space."
There's no other way; you really can't play without locking down the space.
The reason he suffered such a great loss before, and almost fell into Aaron's hands, was largely because this mage could manipulate the mirror space and even use the mirror to affect reality.
In Thanos's memory, the last sorcerer who could achieve this level was the Ancient One. It's hard to imagine that such a powerful sorcerer wasn't the Sorcerer Supreme.
No, looking at it from another angle, it might be precisely because he was powerful enough that he didn't take the position of Sorcerer Supreme to heart.
Aaron frowned slightly, looking thoughtfully at the dimly lit Space Stone in Thanos's left hand. "You can't use it in this area either, right?"
“But the power to undo this is in my hands,” Thanos said nonchalantly. “That’s enough.”
“Furthermore…” Thanos’s Reality Stone on his left ring finger began to shine, “I can not only manipulate space, but also influence reality.”
As soon as he finished speaking, a red energy wave was released from the Reality Stone.
Suddenly, in the infinitely desolate universe, a large number of suspended meteorites, several huge gray planets, and a fiercely burning star appeared.
The place where they stood had become a cold, icy plain, with a biting wind and large and small ice blocks floating on the frigid sea like cracked slabs.
"Is this the Reality Stone?" Banner stared in disbelief. "Although it's not permanent, the ability to alter reality is practically a bug."
"Can you handle it?" Wanda asked worriedly.
“It should be fine, but…” Aaron’s voice came to their ears, “the magic in Kamar-Taj might not be enough.”
"Master wouldn't be thinking of...using other magic, would he?"
"That's not necessarily the case, but I won't have time to take care of Asgard right now. If Hela can't hold on, you need to let me know immediately."
Wanda's heart skipped a beat. "To what extent exactly?"
"Severely injured and dying."
The goddess of death cannot die, but reaching that point proves she has also reached her limit.
Impossible, absolutely impossible.
Wanda immediately rejected this rescue standard in her mind. If anything happened to her and her child, she would feel guilty for the rest of her life.
“You know what, it actually looks pretty convincing.” Aaron caught a snowflake in his hand. “But it doesn’t seem to make any sense.”
Thanos remained silent, only clenching his left fist tightly.
As the red Reality Stone shone, the glaciers, large and small, seemed to be drawn together and hurtled toward Aaron at great speed.
"What's the use?" Aaron sneered disdainfully, raised his leg and swept out a huge blue slash that shattered all the glaciers in sight.
But before he could catch his breath, more glaciers came crashing in from all directions.
"mean."
Aaron unleashed his slashes, shattering the glaciers, while angrily cursing under his breath.
He realized that Thanos knew he couldn't defeat him in a short time by fighting head-on, so he planned to fight a protracted war.
He only has half his magic power now, so he can't afford to fight a war of attrition.
Unless the thought body is withdrawn or the faith of the divine kingdom is converted, but doing so would be no different from revealing one's identity.
He didn't know how many people were paying attention to Ragnarok, but he was certain that there were powerful beings at the level of a Heavenly Father, or even the level of a Universe.
Gaius's bloodline would be exposed, and he didn't even dare to think about what would happen next.
Fortunately, he still had a strong enough physique, and the energy that his Thought Entity had accumulated over the years on Planet Bohart using the ability 'Eat Up' was enough to support him in fighting a protracted battle without using magic.
The problem is that victory is not guaranteed, and worse, Ragnarok is still ongoing. Being held up here by Thanos makes it difficult to rescue Hela in time.
As Aaron shattered yet another of his attacks and rushed toward him, Thanos calmly swung his left arm.
As a red light disappeared into the ground, an insurmountable chasm appeared between him and Aaron.
The seawater, carrying a large amount of ice, poured in, but it was like a bottomless pit that could never be filled.
Thanos has learned his lesson this time, not giving Aaron any chance to get close. If he hadn't managed to control the space in time, he might have been killed here.
"grass!"
Aaron cursed and unleashed a massive blue crescent-shaped slash at Thanos with all his might.
Thanos's left index finger shone with a purple light as he unleashed a purple energy shockwave.
boom!
The slash sliced the shockwave in half like cutting a cake. Thanos continued to channel energy to slow it down, while raising his arm to direct the slash diagonally upwards.
A blue slash flew overhead, heading straight for a gray star hanging in the sky.
Rumble!
The slash left a long, hundreds-of-meters-deep gash on the planet's surface, as if it had been whipped hard, leaving the skin torn and bleeding.
"Is this still a human being?"
Thanos mentally ranted, cold sweat trickling down his forehead.
In his memory, no one could do such a thing with physical strength alone, not even the supreme god-king.
Fortunately, it deflected the attack; if it had taken the blow head-on, it would probably have been split in two.
call!
Aaron was slightly out of breath. In his anger, he had pushed his physical body to its limit, but he could also clearly feel that the energy stored in his body had decreased.
Not much, only about one percent.
But what we need to fight now is a protracted war. If we continue to squander our energy at this rate, it will be completely depleted in just a few minutes.
No, we must change our strategy; continuing like this is too passive.
While thinking, Aaron suddenly recalled the image of being pulled into the water by a hand. Without thinking, he jumped up almost instinctively.
The next moment, an arm made of seawater reached out and grabbed the spot where he had been standing.
Aaron stomped down hard, splashing water all over the arm.
"Not only is it despicable, it's fucking shameless!"
They even resorted to such underhanded tactics as sneak attacks.
Aaron looked at Thanos from afar, his eyes filled with disdain.
Thanos remained unmoved, the Reality Stone on his clenched left fist continuing to flash red.
Wow!
Suddenly, the roar of the ocean reached his ears. Aaron instinctively looked in the direction of the sound and saw a giant wave hundreds of meters high crashing towards him.
The blue sea obscured the view and blocked out the dim light, as snow-white glaciers crashed down from all sides.
"Gift crab!"
Aaron cursed, and then he was swallowed by the sea.
"Not enough." Thanos clenched his fist and unleashed a beam of red light at the sea. "Far from enough."
Aaron, who was sinking in the sea, suddenly opened his eyes and stopped sinking.
At this moment, the icy seawater felt incredibly familiar to him. After all, he was a 'water demon' who could control water elements, and the ocean was, in a sense, his home.
Suddenly Aaron sensed something amiss with the water flow. He turned his head and saw countless megalodon sharks made of seawater lunging at him.
"presumptuous!"
He opened his mouth and let out a silent shriek.
Countless megalodons seemed to sense an irresistible divine power, and after a violent tremor, they completely dissipated.
Aaron took a deep breath and then accelerated upwards.
But just as he saw the light and was about to burst out of the sea, his body was uncontrollably pulled into a huge whirlpool.
Aaron managed to steady himself before noticing three enormous whirlpools on the sea surface, each capable of swallowing everything.
In addition, there were dozens of waterspouts that connected to the sky.
"Fuck Fuck!"
Aaron couldn't help but curse, then let out a helpless sneer, his pupils flashing with a crimson light.
"Stop it."
As the words fell, the vortex shrank at a visible speed, and the waterspout also weakened rapidly.
Thanos stared wide-eyed at the scene in disbelief.
Words become law? Are you kidding me?
Aaron stood on the water as easily as if he were standing on solid ground.
"You, what kind of monster are you?"
"Don't put it so harshly. I just have some talent," Aaron said casually. "I stand here, and water is my most loyal servant."
"A talent?" Thanos murmured, as if he understood something. "So that's it, the talent to control water."
"But even the greatest talent has its limits; you can never control all water."
"That's true, but water-based attacks will probably be much less effective against me."
"Then let's try another one."
A red light flashed across the ground, turning the boundless white ice field into a red wasteland. Large and small rocks were scattered irregularly on the ground, and clusters of volcanoes spewed out thick black smoke.
The distance between Aaron and Thanos did not change much; only the chasm between them had turned into a crimson river of lava.
"Beautiful." Aaron's face twitched slightly. "They didn't give him even the slightest chance!"
"I'll give you a chance, but who's going to give me a chance?!" Thanos retorted, a rare occurrence, before clenching his left fist and unleashing a red beam of light at Aaron.
boom!
Aaron immediately summoned an enlarged version of the Ring of Raghadore to block the red light.
"It would be troublesome if this thing hit you."
"You'll become a toothless tiger," Thanos said with some disappointment. It was almost impossible to hit him head-on, so he would try a relatively unsolvable method.
The next moment, the power stone on his left index finger shone, and purple energy swept across the half of the wasteland where Aaron was.
Rumble!
The earth shattered instantly, and scorching hot magma seeped out from the broken cracks.
Giant volcanoes erupted one after another, and the appearance of towering pillars of fire accelerated the rate at which lava covered the ground.
Aaron watched as his foothold shrank, but he wasn't nervous at all. Instead, he gave Thanos the middle finger and revealed a mocking smile.
