Chapter 1707 Kidnapping Grace
It was a bite, no doubt, but this bite was way too big!
"If there are any more good things like this in the future, come to me again, okay?"
Clone: “…”
The next day, early in the morning.
Olena knocked on the clone's door: "Sister Yu'er, the cleansing of the mark is about to begin. Hua Ling was taken there by the King a long time ago, so I couldn't tell you in time."
The door opened, and the clone rubbed his heavy eyelids. "Oh, okay."
Very sleepy.
She couldn't resist falling asleep in the early hours of the morning, but unfortunately, she only slept for a little over an hour.
Olena was startled by her dark circles: "What happened to you... Didn't you sleep well last night?" That shouldn't be the case. How could a cultivator who has reached this level still feel sleepy?
"Hmm, a bit weak," the clone said.
So much blood was drained, and even after taking two blood-replenishing pills, she was still deficient in qi and blood. In addition, half of her life force was transferred out, making her recovery ability even worse. How could she possibly fully recover?
"Can you still go see it?" Olena asked, somewhat worried.
"It's alright." The clone yawned and beckoned Olena to come over together.
"Then I'll help you." Seeing that her steps were unsteady, Olena's heart jumped, and without saying a word she ran over and took the clone's arm.
By the time they arrived, the ceremony was already halfway through.
The Elf King sat on the high platform, while the Flower Spirit stood on the next step, her gestures devout and her eyes closed.
Today she was wearing an off-the-shoulder dress, which conveniently revealed the traitor's mark on her shoulder.
The Elf King picked up a bottle of unknown liquid and muttered incantations. He then opened the bottle and dripped a drop of the golden liquid onto the Flower Spirit's shoulder.
In an instant, a great golden light shone forth.
"Hiss..." The excruciating pain instantly overwhelmed Hua Ling, and she gasped for breath in pain.
The sound was very soft, almost imperceptible.
But the voice clearly reached the ears of everyone present.
Time ticked by, second by second.
Hua Ling's consciousness was struggling with the pain, but it was no use; the pain came from her soul.
She couldn't hold on any longer and fainted.
The golden light vanished, and the Elf King glanced calmly at Hua Ling's shoulder.
The traitor's mark has disappeared, but a faint red mark remains. "She has been marked for too long, and the mark has become one with her flesh and blood. It will take some time to completely remove it. Do not use divine power for the next month."
The Elf King looked toward the location of his clone and Olena.
He then vanished from his spot in a flash.
The elves dispersed in groups or teams.
"Flower Spirit!" Olena pulled her clone onto the stage and helped the weak Flower Spirit up from the ground.
Grace walked over and put a pill into Hua Ling's mouth.
A moment later, Hua Ling opened her eyes: "Has the mark been erased?"
Every inch of her flesh and bone ached faintly. But she didn't care; all she wanted to know was whether the mark of her traitor remained.
Olena repeated the Elf King's words.
Hua Ling first gave a pale smile; the nightmare that had plagued her for years was finally about to end. Then, her eyes widened in surprise, and she belatedly looked at her clone: "No, I still have an unfinished promise."
If she can't use her divine power for a month, then she won't be able to keep her promise to her sister.
She didn't want to be a person who broke their promise.
The clone patted her hand and comforted her, "It's alright, I can wait."
Nothing has happened to the main body for the time being. A month... should be fine, right?
"No, you are..." Hua Ling was extremely anxious. She almost revealed the secret of the clone, but thankfully she shut her mouth in time.
Olena, Grace, and Orles blinked, puzzled. "What's wrong with her?"
"Hua Ling, tell me, what is my master?"
Is there anything we cannot know?
“Everyone has secrets, so let’s not ask any further,” Olena smoothed things over. “Go back and rest first. You can discuss anything else later. But the king specifically instructed that you are not allowed to use your divine power for a month, and you must follow that.”
Olena paused halfway through her sentence, her gaze falling on the red mark on Hua Ling's shoulder. She said earnestly, "Otherwise, I'm afraid this mark will be impossible to remove."
"..." Before Hua Ling could say anything, an unbearable pain swept over her like a raging storm.
She fainted again.
Olena immediately picked him up and carried him back.
Orles went back with them.
"Master, is there anything I can do to help?" Seeing that his clone hadn't left, Grace tried his best to suppress his urge to go back and chat with the Gu worms.
“There really is one.” The clone stared at Grace and smiled slightly.
"Why do I feel... Master, your smile is so terrifying?" Grace couldn't help but shiver.
"You are the number one alchemist among the elves, so your alchemy skills should be superior to Hua Ling's, right?"
"Probably..." Glass was unsure.
He had never competed with Hua Ling.
Who knows if Hua Ling has learned any extraordinary alchemy techniques from the human race over the years?
He couldn't guarantee anything about that.
"It's okay, let's give it a try," the clone said.
"try what?"
"You'll find out soon enough," the clone said mysteriously, without giving a clear answer.
She grabbed Grace's wrist. "Come on, let's go back to the human realm."
"Huh?" Grice was completely dumbfounded.
Go to the human race?
No way! He's never been far from home in his entire life! Of course, he's never even been anywhere nearby.
He, a socially awkward person, wasn't curious at all about what the outside world was like.
"Master, can I not go?" Grice protested softly in a weak voice.
But it didn't work: "No."
“But the king forbids people from going out; only traitors are forced to leave the elven realm,” Glass tried to make a final stand.
"Is it really not possible?" The clone stopped and frowned.
"Yes."
Hope was rekindled in Grace's heart.
"Alright then." The clone sighed heavily, as if making a great decision: "How can I become a traitor to the Elven race?"
Grace: "???"
"Master, you wouldn't be thinking of making me...?"
The clone nodded.
Grice almost knelt down before her: "Please don't mess with me, Master! I'm begging you. Actually, it's not like there's no way to leave the Elven Realm. Those who make significant contributions can make any request to the King, as long as they don't harm the Elven race."
“And I happen to be a major contributor, so I’ll go and discuss it with Wang.”
"Alright, I'll wait for your good news, my good disciple." The clone couldn't suppress the smile on his face.
See, we can still find a way.
It was unclear how long Grace would discuss things with the Elf King. After returning to the Or family with his clone, he glanced at the still unconscious Flower Spirit, greeted Olena who was guarding Flower Spirit, and went back to his room to fall asleep.
