Chapter 1290 The Noisy Visitor
The peaceful days did not last long, or rather, the "peace" of this world was as fragile as paper.
First, there was the complete failure of meteorological monitoring agencies and global panic. In Singapore, an equatorial region, the temperature plummeted from 35 degrees Celsius to minus 20 degrees Celsius in half an hour. Marina Bay froze instantly, glass curtain walls shattered due to rapid thermal expansion and contraction, and tropical plants were covered with icicles.
Almost simultaneously, in the central region of the Sahara Desert, a thick, lava-like "fire rain" fell from the sky without warning, melting the sand sea into large swathes of glassy crystals.
The super hurricane Minotaur, which formed over the Pacific Ocean, had a diameter of more than 2,000 kilometers. It carried chaotic energy turbulence and swept across a quarter of the coastline of Oceania with a trajectory that defied all meteorological models. Wherever it passed, it caused not just simple wind disasters, but buildings were "disintegrated" and the landforms were "reshaped".
The most chilling thing is the geological changes—the East African Rift Valley is expanding at a rate of several meters per day without warning, and shallow-focus strong earthquakes are frequently occurring on the west coast of the Americas, as if the plates are being manipulated at will by an invisible hand.
This is no longer natural; rather, the "rules" themselves are in disarray.
Eyewitness reports flooded in to authorities around the world and the two major organizations. Some claimed to have seen enormous, indescribable eye outlines in the aurora; others glimpsed outstretched, light-formed wings in the fire clouds; blurry human figures seemed to be dancing in the eye of the hurricane; and inhuman, planetary-like groans echoed from the abyss where the earth had split open.
"The gods have descended!" "The Last Judgment!" "This is purification and blessing!" Various extreme statements spread wildly across the global internet and streets, with panic, despair, and fanatical religious sentiment spreading like a virus. Social order teetered on the brink of collapse under the impact of this extraordinary natural disaster and cognitive shock.
Top scientists and paranormal researchers from the fields of Destiny and Anti-Entropy urgently collaborated. After analyzing all the anomalous data, Einstein reached a chilling conclusion: "This is not collapse, nor even an 'attack' in the usual sense. These phenomena... are closer to the 'friction' and 'rejection' reaction between the 'law field' carried by a higher being approaching or 'projecting' and the Earth's native physical rules. It's like a giant beast walking across a pond; its body doesn't even actually touch the water's surface, but merely approaching causes ripples, eddies, and splashes of water."
“Based on the diffusion model of ‘friction’ intensity and ‘rejection’ phenomenon,” Einstein’s voice carried an unusual solemnity during the holographic conference, “we may only have a one-month buffer period. After a month, if those ‘beings’ truly focus their attention entirely on this, or attempt to make more direct ‘contact’… the physical rules of the Earth may undergo permanent, irreversible distortions, or even collapse altogether.”
Just as the higher-ups of all humanity were racking their brains over this dimensional reduction crisis that far exceeded the threat of "the end," Amethyst's seemingly ordinary residence near St. Freya Academy welcomed a pair of visitors with strikingly different styles.
Without knocking, the space was gently lifted like a curtain, and two figures appeared abruptly in the living room, as if they had always been there.
Leading the group was a young girl wearing a half-red, half-white fox mask, with her black hair tied in twin ponytails. She wore a gorgeous deep red outfit with yukata elements, and the hem of her skirt was adorned with golden bells that jingled crisply as she turned gracefully. She tilted her head, her beautiful eyes seemingly surveying the room's layout with a sense of curiosity about her new surroundings.
Following behind her was a tall man with dark blue hair and an infectious smile. He rubbed his hands together, his eyes scanning the furniture in the living room as if assessing their value or how interesting they were.
"Oh my, so this is 'that person's' residence? It's more...simple than I imagined." The girl spoke, her voice clear and melodious, with a hint of playful laughter.
“Hey, don’t say that.” The blue-haired man chuckled, walking over to the sofa and sitting down as if they were old friends. He patted the seat next to him. “Simplicity has its advantages; at least the tea for guests won’t be too complicated, right? Oh, I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Sambo Koski, and this is Miss Fireworks. We come from… well, a place that values ‘joy’ and ‘surprise’. Don’t worry, we’re not like those stern-faced guys outside.”
Zijing stood at the other end of the living room, her face showing little surprise. She simply looked at them calmly and said, "Is coming uninvited your way of having 'fun'?"
"Don't be so serious~" Hanabi lightly jumped onto the coffee table and sat down, swinging her legs. "We came with 'good intentions,' you know? Our 'fun god' has taken a great interest in you~ He thinks you're a particularly interesting 'variable' in this dull script."
Sambo nodded in agreement, his tone exaggerated: "Yes, yes! Our god has spoken! If you're willing to join us, become His 'playmate,' and have some fun in the universe, play some harmless pranks, and experience infinite possibilities... then, He'd be happy to 'solve' Earth's current 'little trouble' for you, okay? For example, making the other enemies sneeze a few times to distract them, or something like that~"
He winked and added, "We Masked Fools, while we enjoy having fun, don't take lives lightly, especially not lives that are interesting. How about it? Think it over? Compared to being dealt with by those big shots outside, following Lord Aha at least guarantees that you and those you care about can have fun and live a wonderful life~"
These remarks sounded like a stand-up comedy routine, but the two of them were clearly serious, and they were trying their best to coax Zijing into doing so.
Zijing listened in silence, without answering immediately. He could sense that the two "masked fools" were not extremely powerful, but their way of being was very special. They seemed to have arrived here in a peculiar way, and the "God of Fun" behind them had indeed set his sights on him.
“I appreciate your ‘kindness,’” Zijing finally said slowly, “However, I need time to consider it.”
"Wise!" Sambo slapped his thigh and stood up. "No rush, no rush! Something this interesting deserves careful consideration! We won't bother you any longer, and we look forward to your good news~" He gave an exaggerated farewell.
Hanabi jumped down from the coffee table, giggling, "Don't keep us waiting too long, you interesting gentleman. You'll regret it if you miss out on the fun~" After saying that, the two figures gradually blurred like a faded oil painting, and finally disappeared into the air, as if they had never existed.
