Chapter 1087 Lucius and Eidolon
"Alien!"
"Feel the power of the Emperor's Children Legion! In the name of the Emperor and his Primarch!"
The moment the countdown of the melta bomb reached zero, Eidolon turned sharply and rushed towards the nearest fleshy passage.
His power boots stepped on the slimy inner wall, splashing fishy digestive fluid with every step.
Behind him, a blazing white explosion glowed like the sun, and a heat wave swept over, instantly vaporizing the pursuing swarm of insects.
Eidolon did not look back.
He crashed directly into a narrow fleshy passage, and the shock wave of the explosion followed closely, squeezing and twisting the flesh walls of the passage.
Green insect blood gushed out from the cracks, dripping onto his power armor and corroding it into hissing white smoke.
The filter of the helmet barely managed to filter out the foul-smelling air, but the rotten smell still penetrated into the nasal cavity through the breathing valve, making people feel sick.
"Commander Eidolon? What's the situation over there?"
The auspicious instrument suddenly sounded, and the voice of the communications officer seemed particularly clear in the dead silence of the maze of flesh and blood.
Eidolon spat out a piece of Zerg flesh that had exploded into his mouth, and sticky green liquid dripped down his chin.
He raised his power sword and forced back a knife worm that had poked its head out from the folds of the flesh wall, and then responded: "I am now in the belly of this alien! Emperor!"
The communication channel was silent for a second, and then a new response came: "We will find a way to rescue you, Commander Eidolon."
“Stop talking nonsense!” Eidolon chopped off the Tyranid warrior worm that was charging at him with his sword. “This damn place is full of—”
Suddenly, the entire chamber shook violently, and it looked like some huge monster was approaching.
"boom!!!!"
A few seconds later, the chitin armored belly of the biological battleship suddenly exploded.
A blazing white beam of molten light penetrated through layers of flesh and blood, and the high temperature instantly carbonized the hive tissue.
Then, a purple-gold painted Thunderhawk gunship pierced in like a sharp sword, and the rotating gunship armor directly tore open the mothership's internal organs, plowing a burning channel in the flesh and blood.
Eidolon narrowed his eyes, focusing the vision enhancers on his helmet.
The hatch of the gunboat was opened before it landed, and a slender figure jumped out. He was holding a power sword with the emblem of the Emperor's Children Legion and had short, neat silver hair.
"Lucius?"
"You really know how to choose a place for your vacation, Commander Eidolon." Lucius' voice was full of his usual mockery, but the sword in his hand was as fast as lightning.
Lucius raised the power sword and slashed it horizontally with a standard move, cutting the three warrior bugs that were rushing towards him in half, and green blood splattered on the flesh walls.
Then he added a second strike with the sword, Lucius stabbed the tip of the sword accurately into the eye socket of a tyrant guard, crushed the brain and then pulled it out.
Then Lucius turned around like dancing, his sword blade drew a perfect arc, and cut off the heads of five knife worms at the same time.
At the same time, the swarm's reaction was extremely quick.
The damage to the mothership triggered some kind of biological alarm, and more Zerg units poured out of the flesh tunnels.
Genestealers crawled across the ceiling on all fours, warrior worms' bone blades split apart the flesh that blocked their way, and the roars of tyrant guards made the entire chamber tremble.
Lucius smiled, and he held the blade in front of himself and said, "That's more like it."
And Eidolon stood beside him, holding his power sword and storm shield in a fighting stance.
"Kill out."
The two sides looked at each other, and at the moment the swarm of insects pounced, they both moved at the same time.
Lucius' sword dance was like a violent storm, and every strike accurately found the weak points of the Zerg's joints.
He leaped up on the bone blade of a warrior insect and slashed down with his power sword viciously, cutting the head of another tyrant guard into four pieces.
Lucius spun as he landed, piercing the spine of a Tyranid warrior worm with his sword, and then he picked up its corpse and smashed it into the swarm.
Eidolon pushed forward like a battering ram, his storm shield smashing through the bladeworm's carapace, his power sword slashing with thunder with every blow.
The bone blade of a warrior worm was stuck in his shoulder armor, and he charged directly at the opponent, slamming it into the flesh wall and crushing it into a pulp.
"Left!" Lucius shouted suddenly.
Without even turning his head, Eidolon swung his storm shield backwards, smashing the Genestealer's brain into pieces.
The two men fought with their backs to each other, and the insect corpses soon piled up into a mountain.
"Should we go? Lucius!"
As Eidolon shouted, he chopped the warrior bug that was rushing towards him with his sword, and green blood splattered on his breastplate, making a hissing sound.
He dodged another pureblood Genestealer's claw attack and slammed his storm shield, smashing the opponent's head into his chest.
"Lucius!" Eidolon continued to roar.
Then, the power sword pierced through the abdomen of a knife worm, knocking it away and knocking down three of its kind that were rushing towards it.
"Oh, my dear Eidolon."
He flipped in the air and landed, and his power sword cut the throat of another warrior worm. "The engine of my Thunderhawk exploded when it just rushed in."
"What?!" Eidolon smashed the Zerg's shell in front of him with a shield strike, then turned his head and glared at Lucius.
Lucius dodged the bone blade and stabbed the attacker's nerve node accurately. Then he turned around and asked, "How do you think I got in?"
At this moment, a Tyrant Guard suddenly broke through the swarm of insects and stabbed Lucius in the back with a bone blade.
Eidolon took a quick step forward and slashed with his power sword, cutting off the bone blade and the monster's forearm.
"So you're saying..." Eidolon panted, stabbing the Tyrant Guard's chest with his power sword, "Our only means of evacuation is an iron coffin that can't even glide?"
"That's not the case. We've called for backup."
"They are on the other side, the gunboat is thirty meters away!" Lucius shouted in between the fights, "but we need to clear a path!"
Eidolon looked in the direction of the Thunderhawk gunship - it had been overwhelmed by the new swarm of insects.
The gunship's turrets were still firing, and each roar of the melta cannons was clearing an area, but the swarm was too great.
"I'll lead the way and you cover me." Lucius turned his head and said.
"Same reckless plan as always."
Eidolon said as he activated the overload protocol of the power armor.
The servos screamed, pushing his power to the limit.
He rushed out like a cannonball, with the storm shield in front, and crashed directly into the most densely populated area of the swarm.
boom! boom! boom!
Each shield strike shattered several Zergs. The power sword's decomposition field had overheated.
Lucius followed closely behind, his power sword stabbing out like a venomous snake, taking out those enemies who tried to attack from the side.
His steps were as light as a ghost, and every dodge was just right, as if he could predict every attack of the swarm.
Five meters, three meters, one meter...
"Jump!"
The two men leaped up at the same time and landed in front of the hatch of the Thunderhawk gunship. The gunship's turret immediately turned around, and the hot melt cannon evaporated the pursuing swarm of insects.
The moment the hatch closed, Eidolon slumped on the deck, his power armor scarred and his breathing heavy as thunder.
Lucius gracefully shook off the insect blood on his swords and sheathed both swords.
"Welcome aboard," the pilot's voice came from the cockpit, "We recommend you fasten your seat belts, we are going to perform some...intense maneuvers."
