Chapter 1102 Star Wars 6
"Marshal! Unknown signal appears in the rear!"
The sudden sound of an alarm drowned out the tactical officer's words.
Space was twisted and torn behind the Death Star formation, as if the universe itself was torn open by some force.
Thirty-seven Hive Battleships swarmed out of the Warp rift, their shells still bearing the burn marks of traveling through the Warp dimension, and acid continued to seep out of the cracks.
"All ships at level one combat readiness!" Custer's roar exploded in the communication system, "The defense array is fully activated!"
But it was too late. These hive warships had obviously undergone special evolution - their volume was only one-third of that of regular warships, but their folding accuracy was amazing.
The nearest ship is only 700 kilometers away from the Death Star code-named "Executioner", which is almost face-to-face distance in space warfare.
The Hive Fleet showed its terrifying coordination as soon as it appeared. Twelve warships simultaneously ejected tens of thousands of spore drop pods from their bellies. These organic containers, which were tens of meters in size, were covered with spikes on their surfaces and were shot towards the surface of the Death Star at subsonic speeds under the action of propulsion glands.
"Close-in defense systems, open fire!" The defense commanders of each Death Star gave the order almost at the same time.
The dense laser cannons wove a gorgeous web of death, vaporizing thousands of spore pods along the way.
The escorting frigate demonstrated excellent air defense capabilities, with its anti-aircraft turret firing at a rate of 1200 rounds per minute.
But the number of insects was too large, so large that no matter how hard we tried, we couldn't stop them.
When the first batch of spore capsules hit the surface of the Death Star "Purifier", the surveillance footage plunged the command hall into silence.
The pods burst like ripe fruits, spewing out sticky green liquid and swarms of Zerg vanguards, including gigantic executioners, heavily-shelled Tyrannical Beasts, and even several Hive Tyrants directing the attack.
"Surface defense forces will be dispatched immediately!" Custer punched the console, "Initiate internal isolation protocol!"
Armor plating on the Death Star's surface began to shift, revealing hidden turrets and machine gun positions.
Garrison troops in heavy protective suits poured out of the lift platforms, their plasma flamethrowers drawing bright lines of fire on the metal surface.
At the same time, the battle in space was already intense. The escorting Imperial Star Destroyers formed a defensive circle, and the turbolaser cannons blasted the three Hive Battleships into pieces.
Squadrons of TIE fighters shuttled across the battlefield like a swarm of bees, the blue flames of their ion engines drawing complex trajectories in the darkness.
"Avengers Squadron, pay attention, concentrate your firepower on attacking their thrusters!"
The flight commander's voice rang out over the communication channel. Twelve TIE fighters formed an assault arrowhead, accurately penetrating the defensive firepower of a Hive Battleship, and the proton torpedoes directly hit its biological thrusters.
The battleship immediately began to spin like a drunkard and eventually collided with another of its kind.
But the Zerg strike back is just as fierce. A new type of spore fighter detaches from the mothership, these living aircraft can spray corrosive spikes.
Three TIE fighters were hit, their cockpits melted into liquid metal in seconds.
On Custer's tactical hologram, red dots representing the invasion were spreading inside the Death Star.
What is most worrying is that the red dot in the seventh zone of the "Purifier" has penetrated deep into the periphery of the reactor.
"Call up the surveillance of District 7!" the marshal ordered.
The footage showed a group of Crusher using their reinforced forelimbs to tear apart the protective door.
What's even more terrifying is that they are followed by several Zerg units that have never been seen before. The surface of these creatures is covered with crystalline substances that seem to be able to absorb attacks from energy weapons.
"Damn it! Send in the Death Soldiers!"
..............................
The piercing sound of alarms echoed through the Death Star's inner passages, and red emergency lighting dyed the metal corridors bloody.
Clone Commander CC-4472 rested his DC-15A blaster rifle against his shoulder, his Phase II armor helmet display showing the bio-scanner flashing wildly with hostile orange dots.
"All units, attention, activate the defensive formation." He ordered through the clone-only channel, "Stormtroopers are responsible for fire suppression, death troopers guard the intersection, and the clone teams are free to hunt."
The pressure door at the end of the corridor suddenly twisted and deformed, and some acidic substance was corroding the titanium alloy door frame.
With a sharp scream of metal tearing, the first wave of insects poured in like a tide.
The E-11 blaster rifles of the Stormtroopers opened fire first. Dozens of red plasma beams cut through the darkness of the corridor, burning holes as big as bowls in the charging Tyranid warrior worms.
But the number of insects was too large, and the fallen bodies were immediately trampled under the feet of their own kind.
"Switch to plasma grenades!" shouted the stormtrooper lieutenant.
Three MG-7A ion grenades flew over the front row of soldiers, blasting blue energy waves in the center of the swarm.
The shells of more than a dozen Tyranid warrior insects were ionized and shattered in an instant, and the muscle tissue under the shells twitched and carbonized.
CC-4472 seized this opportunity and led the clone commandos to attack from the flank.
Their DC-17m blaster sniper mode fired accurately, and every shot hit the Zerg's neural nodes.
A knifeworm that was pouncing on a storm trooper suddenly froze, and its compound eyes were pierced by three energy beams at the same time.
At the T-shaped intersection, the death soldiers formed the last line of defense.
These robots dressed in heavy black armor silently set up the DLS-12 heavy blaster cannons, and dangerous light began to gather at the muzzles.
“Fire.”
Following the commander's cold command, twelve heavy artillery pieces roared at the same time.
The fire net formed by the high-energy plasma beam directly evaporated the swarm of insects in the corridor. The metal on the wall was melted into liquid by the high temperature and dripped onto the ground with a hissing sound.
A Tyranid Leaper that managed to avoid a direct hit was shot dead by a Death Soldier's SE-14r light blaster pistol as soon as it leaped up, exploding into a ball of acid fireworks in mid-air.
Only 20 dead soldiers blocked the offensive of thousands of Tyranid Knifeworms, Samurai Bugs, and Von Ryan Leapers.
As more and more Zerg swarms approached, the Death Soldiers were forced into close combat.
Fortunately, close combat is also one of the Death Troopers' strengths, and their strength is no weaker than any Space Marine.
In this small space, the death soldiers quickly divided into small groups to deal with the Zerg attack.
I saw a death soldier pulling out a VB-78 vibrating dagger with his left hand. The high-frequency vibrating blade made a piercing sound and slashed across the abdomen of the samurai worm from bottom to top.
The shell was torn like thin paper under the molecular-level vibrations, and the green internal organs poured out like a waterfall.
At the same time, his right hand had completed the reloading, and the butt of the gun smashed the compound eye of another Zerg.
