Chapter 1743 Exchange of Information
Li Luo didn't reply, but focused on thoroughly cleaning up the dark-elemental residue. Only after watching his wounds heal without a trace under the effect of his healing ability did she withdraw her hand and smooth out the cuffs of his combat uniform.
"In the future, when you fight someone, don't always rush forward and try to take the hit head-on. Try to dodge as much as possible. No matter how fast I improve my superpower, I don't want to see you getting hurt all the time."
Her voice carried a soft concern, lacking the focus she had during treatment, and instead carrying a touch of a young girl's gentle admonition.
Looking at her earnest yet distressed expression, Lu Jingcheng couldn't help but squeeze her fingertips, his voice tinged with amusement:
"Okay, I'll be more careful in the future and won't make you worry."
The entire treatment lasted for nearly an hour, and fine beads of sweat appeared on Li Luo's forehead.
Healing abilities consume real mental energy. She had already exhausted a lot of it fighting the mysterious man alone, and she had just finished treating everyone's injuries, so the burden on her was quite heavy.
Lu Jingcheng saw all of this and silently took out a bottle of super water from his ring space.
That was something Li Luo had specially prepared for him, in case he ran out of energy during a mission. She never expected that she would use it first.
He unscrewed the bottle cap and handed it to her, his voice softer than usual: "Drink some water and rest for a while."
Li Luo didn't stand on ceremony, took the water, tilted her head back, and drank a mouthful.
The chilled super water, carrying a unique energy, slid down my throat. In just a few seconds, my depleted mental energy seemed to be quickly replenished, and the previous tension and fatigue were instantly relieved by more than half.
At this moment, Shi Xinxin also came over.
Taking advantage of the fact that no one else was paying attention, she quietly took out two compressed biscuits wrapped in oil paper from her backpack, handed them to Li Luo, and whispered as she leaned closer:
"Lolo, quickly eat a few pieces to tide you over. They were specially made by our moms. They're made from grains raised with 'good stuff,' and they smell amazing when roasted. They're really good for replenishing your energy!"
She blinked, her tone carrying a tacit understanding only the two of them knew, and said no more.
The "good stuff" was naturally the crops grown with super water and space. This kind of secret that couldn't be told to outsiders didn't need to be explicitly stated; both of them knew it perfectly well.
After Li Luo had rested enough, Lu Jingcheng slowly began to recount what had happened since their separation:
"After you separated from us to draw away the pursuers, I led everyone to continue heading towards the B City base. We were ambushed by five members of the Destruction Force just as we reached the vicinity of the gas station."
"Just like the mysterious people who tracked us before, they all wore black cloaks, their faces were completely covered, not even a gap was visible, and they relied entirely on their superpowers to do things, without using any additional weapons at all."
"They didn't rush to kill us; instead, they deliberately dragged the fight out, trying to force us deeper into the gas station, as if they were carrying out some kind of delaying mission."
He paused, his fingertips unconsciously clenching. "We can barely manage, but their seamless teamwork makes it difficult for us to break free for the time being."
"What's even stranger is that the fighting noise directly attracted more than twenty level 5 zombie kings!" Shi Xinxin continued, her tone calm but with a hint of seriousness, though there was no fear in her eyes.
She was already quite powerful and had experience dealing with high-level zombies.
“Those things are a bit different from the zombies we usually see. They have blue faces and fangs, and their bodies are all blackish-purple. They are as fast as the wind, and they are clustered together. It is obvious that they want to gather a horde of zombies to trap us.”
