Chapter 514 Leaving the Kingdom of Goa
Redhead was quite outgoing and immediately offered up the two middle seats to Barrett and Oren.
Barrett was somewhat surprised to see Shanks: "How could a pirate like you appear in the East Blue?"
Barrett naturally recognized Shanks, after all, he was one of the two kids on Roger's ship and had some talent (in Barrett's opinion, Shanks was only "okay"). So he naturally had some impression of him.
Shanks was still a bit reserved around Barrett, unlike his earlier casual and talkative demeanor with Lucky Roux.
Redhead truly knew how terrifying the blond, muscular man in front of him was—
Qinghai Sky List: 9th!
The true king of the sea, his iron fists made even the older generation of strongmen suffer. He was a powerhouse of his generation. Everyone on the sea tacitly regarded Barrett as an older generation of strongmen because he debuted early and became a national hero at the age of 13. But to be fair, Barrett in the 1501st year of the Sea Calendar was only a 24-year-old young man.
"Let's rest here for a bit, after all, this is a peaceful sea area."
Barrett remained noncommittal, while O'Leary, standing nearby, greeted him with a smile:
"Hello, I'm Leon O'Lane, this should be our first meeting."
Shanks, facing the blond boy before him, knew perfectly well who he was without needing an introduction.
The fact that Barrett was always by his side was only the most obvious sign. The most crucial thing was that Shanks sensed an endless mystery from Oren. This unimaginable aura could not be attributed to any other being besides the offspring of the High God.
"Shanks is currently the captain of the Red-Haired Pirates."
"A pirate crew, huh? That's impressive. Did you inherit Captain Roger's will?"
"No, the captain said I am free, and his will will naturally be inherited by a destined person."
O'Lane pondered the title 'the chosen one' for a moment. Knowing history and the future, he roughly understood the connection. Then, remembering his father's instructions, he said:
"By the way, Shanks, my father said that if I were to meet you here, he would ask me to give you this item."
With that, Olene waved her hand and took out a rapier from the dark space of the Dark Fruit—the famous sword, Griffin.
“My father said this was a gift he promised you years ago, but he never had the time to give it to you in person, so he gave me the opportunity to give it to you.”
The young redhead looked at the rapier in Oren's hand. Without a doubt, it was a peerless sword that was in no way inferior to the Supreme Grade Swords, and it was the pinnacle of the rapier genre.
Shanks knew the reason why Rex gave him this gift. It was about ten years ago when Rex and Red Earl came to Roger's crew. Shanks and Buggy surrounded Rex at the time, and Shanks foolishly tried to ask Rex some questions about his background, but Rex, with his wicked sense of humor, brushed him off.
Before Lex left, he promised himself and Bucky that he would give each of them a gift later.
This incident left a very deep impression on Shanks, as it was one of the few conversations he had with Leon Glory.
Unexpectedly, it was just a childhood rambling that Leon, high above, still remembered clearly. As time passed, Lex still brought him the sword before him.
Redhead suddenly smiled and accepted Griffin generously. He knew that the sword Lex gave him didn't have any special meaning; it was simply to fulfill a promise he made in his youth.
However, it is precisely these small details in life that reveal a person's true nature, a fact that no one can deny.
Redhead blurted out, "Please tell Mr. Lex that although I am free, I know that the freedom of this era was brought about by Mr. Lex."
Oleini understood the deeper meaning in Shanks' words and smiled faintly: "I will definitely tell Father the truth."
Immediately, at Shanks' invitation, Oren and Barrett joined the banquet at the Windmill Town tavern, a simple feast for a group of fledgling pirate henchmen.
The next day—
Oren temporarily left Windmill Town and returned to High Town to meet with Otto Lucius III. He dealt with the cargo brought from the ship—a ship full of fine wine from the West Blue. Thanks to Otto Lucius III's vigorous promotion, it was quickly sold out in the Goa Kingdom, as there were quite a few nobles who wanted to get to know the Celestial Dragons' family guards.
However, O'Leary, who doesn't care about these things, obviously won't bother to explain their identities to these people; let them think what they want.
The third stop in the Goa Kingdom, and the final stop for Olene and Barret in the Goa Kingdom—the Uncertain Waste Terminal.
Outside the vast, desolate ruins, Oleni and Barrett walked slowly.
"Goa Kingdom, no wonder my father suggested that my first stop in the East Blue be Goa Kingdom, now I understand."
Oleni gazed silently at the enormous garbage dump before her, and at the emaciated, ragged figures huddled in the dark corners. The eyes of these refugees and beggars were almost like those of stray dogs; while wary of each other, they also revealed a longing for their kind—a desire for food.
Because in this uncertain wasteland, there's really nothing to swallow except these 'kindred spirits'.
The arrival of Oleni and Barrett attracted the attention of many 'wild dogs'. Even though Barrett's explosive muscles looked impressive, people who were starving and willing to take risks obviously didn't care about that.
Sure enough, in the next instant, several figures surrounded the two.
Without much further communication, roughly polished iron tools were hurled at Oreni and Barrett as they hunted for food.
Oren and Barrett made no statement, but simply released their domineering aura, stunning everyone present before shaking their heads and leaving. Before leaving, Oren paused and turned to look back at this uncertain wasteland—the other side of the Goa Kingdom.
"The ocean shouldn't be like this."
Barrett raised an eyebrow, glanced at the deeply moved Oleney, and calmly said, "The sea has a better tomorrow, but that doesn't negate the mistakes of today."
O'Leary waved her hand, no longer paying attention to the forgotten, uncertain wasteland terminal behind her, and said calmly, "I will not deny the great era of rise that my father started with two great wars. Even if more blood was shed, it was for a better world. But no one can deny the beauty of tomorrow. Maybe I am too weak. Many things can start today."
The sights and sounds of the Kingdom of Goa, High Town, Windmill Town, and the Uncertain Waste Terminal made the glory of Leon in Oren's heart even more real.
"Your father and the one between Hua still hold great power in Qinghai, so there's not much you can do."
“My father will support me in everything, and my ancestors will support me in everything. I promised them that I would completely eliminate all the filth deep in history, including the sun god. But beyond that, I want to create the tomorrow in my heart.”
Oren and Barrett departed by ship from the port of the Kingdom of Goa. Few people knew of their departure, and it seemed that the arrival of this third generation of glory was truly like a gust of wind, sweeping through this beautiful yet decaying kingdom.
