Chapter 642: Barbecue Restaurant Incident
The barbecue for Jige Naruto's table was served quickly. The waiter lit the charcoal fire, bowed, and then hurried away, as if avoiding the plague god.
Naruto has long been accustomed to this. To him, it is even good enough if others do not speak ill of him.
Jiger picked up a few pieces of pork belly and tenderloin and placed them on the grill. The oil on the meat dripped into the charcoal fire below, making a sizzling sound. The aroma of meat spread, and Naruto immediately drooled at the corners of his mouth.
Glancing at Naruto, Jiger chuckled.
"How is it? Doesn't it look much better than instant noodles?"
Naruto nodded vigorously, staring at the sizzling meat on the grill with shining eyes, and asked with his mouth watering,
"Brother Jige, how long will it take before we can eat this meat?"
"What's the rush? Can meat grow legs and run away? Look carefully, I'll only show you how to roast the meat once, and you'll do the rest."
"Okay! No problem, Brother Jiger, I'm happy to serve you!"
In front of Jiger, Naruto was able to completely liberate his optimistic and cheerful nature. He no longer had the feeling of depression he had in the past, and he just wished that time could stay at this moment forever.
Jiger stared at Naruto, his dark face showing no expression. He was thinking that if he told Naruto at this moment that he would have to pay the price of his life to free him from the seal, perhaps Naruto would really agree.
Naruto, who has lacked care since childhood, probably really regards himself as a father figure.
Jiger shook his head slightly. That was all. Now he could quickly break the seal with his own strength. Even if he wanted to, he only needed to absorb the fox and he could immediately come to the outside world in his true form.
But he no longer wanted to do that.
Asuma, who had been observing this place, frowned. Even though the waiter had already placed the dishes on the table, he didn't notice it at all until Hong urged him,
"Asuma! Asuma! The food is served!"
Asuma came back to his senses, turned around and made a gesture to Hong to keep quiet, with a serious expression on his face.
Seeing this, Hong also became serious. Asuma lowered his voice and said,
"I suspect that Naruto's so-called shadow clone is the Nine-Tails!"
"Nani?"
Hong's eyes widened as Asuma continued,
"No matter how strong the clone's independent consciousness is, it can't reach that level. I suspect it was simply condensed from the Nine-Tails' chakra."
While the two of them were whispering, Jiger put a piece of grilled meat on Naruto's plate and said lightly,
"You two might as well talk closer to here."
Asuma's body trembled, and he felt as if he was being stared at by some terrifying existence. Even with his strength as a senior ninja, he felt that he was completely unable to compete.
This also made him more certain of his previous guess. Hong, who was standing beside him, looked as if she was facing a formidable enemy, and her hand had already touched the kunai at her waist.
Jiger continued to pick up the barbecue,
"Better be honest. I don't want to kill anyone right now. It will affect my appetite."
As soon as the words fell, Hong's body suddenly tensed up, and an invisible powerful force pressed her firmly on the chair. Asuma noticed Hong's situation and suddenly stood up from the chair, staring at Jiger in front of him.
The diners around were so scared when they saw this scene that they ran away. The owner of the barbecue restaurant was so upset that he wanted to cry but had no tears. He didn't dare to say a word. If he hadn't been reluctant to leave his shop, he would have run away with the diners.
Naruto sat nervously on the chair and said in a trembling voice,
"Brother Jige, what's wrong? Did I do something wrong?"
Jiger frowned and said,
"It has nothing to do with you, just eat."
After saying that, he turned to face Asuma and said in a cold voice,
"You want to die, don't you?"
A drop of cold sweat slid down Asuma's forehead. His hands had already grasped his exclusive weapon, the chakra knife, but at this moment, he was intimidated by the terrifying aura emitted by Jiger. He couldn't even take out the chakra knife. How could he fight the enemy?
The gap between the two sides is too big. Even though he has not fought with him yet, Asuma is very sure that he is no match for Jiger.
Damn it, is the Nine-Tails' power really that terrifying? I'm a jonin, a top jonin at that, but facing an inexplicable clone of the Nine-Tails, I don't even have the qualifications to fight back?
Looking across, Jiger had already raised one finger. Just as he was about to press it, an old voice suddenly sounded from the doorway.
"Asuma, interrupting someone's meal is extremely rude. Why don't you apologize immediately?"
When the owner of the barbecue restaurant saw the figure coming out of the door, his eyes suddenly lit up and he shouted excitedly,
"Hokage-sama!!!"
The person who came was the Third Hokage Sarutobi Hiruzen. He stood quietly at the entrance with his hands behind his back, his eyes looking inside calmly.
Jiger put his hand down, tapped the table with his fingers, and said lightly,
"Hiding in the house and spying on others is also an extremely disrespectful and obscene act. This is not what a Hokage should do."
The Third Hokage was shocked when he was exposed, but he did not show it on his face. He forced a smile and bowed slightly.
"I'm so sorry, Naruto is so important that I have to take some measures to protect him."
Jiger sneered, picked up a piece of barbecue and put it in his mouth, while the third generation glared at Asuma and shouted,
"What are you still standing there for?!"
Asma was startled and quickly apologized to Jiger. Jiger said,
"What's the point of just apologizing? Pay the bill for this table later."
Asuma was stunned for a moment, and then was glared at by the third generation, so he hurriedly said,
"Of course, and those who haven't paid yet..."
The boss's eyes lit up when he heard this, but Jiger's next words made the light in his eyes dim quickly.
"What does other people's business have to do with me? Just settle the bill for this table and don't do anything extra."
Asuma could only agree. Feeling the terrifying power of Zig, he didn't dare to provoke Zig. He was certainly not afraid of death, and even if he felt aggrieved, he couldn't anger Zig. In his opinion, once Zig went berserk, it would definitely be a devastating disaster for Konoha.
Now there is no Fourth Hokage to help them divert the Nine-Tails' attack. With only the old Third Hokage, by the time the Nine-Tails is subdued, Konoha will probably be almost destroyed.
He, Asuma, must not be the sinner who brings disaster to Konoha.
Seeing Asuma's resilience, the third generation was relieved. He glanced at Hong, who was already sweating beside Asuma, and said to Jiger,
"I would be grateful if you could remove Hong's abilities."
Jiger said casually while holding the barbecue,
"Okay, remember to vacate the house where the Fourth Hokage lived."
