Chapter 1044 Peter's Identity Revealed
"Ned, do you know Spider-Man?" Noah asked directly after greeting Ned, whom he hadn't seen for a long time.
At this moment, the three of them were sitting in Peter's slightly small but warmly decorated bedroom and talking. Inside the room, there were posters of science fiction movies and superheroes on the walls, and the desk was piled with books and models. In the past, this was always the place where the three of them often gathered, carrying many good memories.
Peter sat backwards in his chair with his hands casually resting on the back. He wanted to listen to what Noah had to say, but when Noah mentioned Spider-Man, Peter's nerves instantly tensed up, his fingers subconsciously gripped the back of the chair, and his heartbeat suddenly quickened.
"Spider-Man? Of course you know him! He's very popular in Queens recently. I heard that he can fly between buildings and has caught many thieves and bad guys. People are talking about the possibility of a superhero emerging in Queens." As Ned spoke, he imitated Spider-Man's flying movements with his hands and feet. It was obvious that he had a good impression of this up-and-coming hero.
"Is there such a thing?" Peter, who is Spider-Man himself, was surprised at the moment. He had never heard of these remarks before, and he did not expect that the neighbors would pay so much attention to his actions and support him so much, which made him feel warm inside.
"Of course, Peter, you didn't know?" Ned asked with a puzzled look on his face.
"Well, I rarely go out and hang out recently, so I don't know much about these things." Peter explained with a somewhat embarrassed look, his eyes unconsciously dodging.
In fact, he had been so busy putting on his homemade sweater costume and devoting himself to his superhero work after school lately that he had hardly any time to hang around his doorstep and listen to everyone's gossip.
"But, Noah, why are you asking this suddenly?" After listening to Peter's explanation, relying on the tacit understanding between long-time friends, Ned vaguely felt that his good friend's behavior was a little strange. A hint of suspicion flashed in his eyes, but he didn't take it too seriously. He turned to look at Noah and asked with curiosity on his face.
"Peter is Spider-Man." The next second, the words came out of Noah's mouth like a bolt from the blue, and Peter's face instantly became stiff.
"Ah?" Ned looked confused at first, as if he hadn't realized what Noah meant. After a few seconds, he was surprised and his voice unconsciously rose a few degrees. "What? Is this true? Noah, are you kidding me?"
Ned's face was full of suspicion. He paced back and forth around Peter, looking him up and down. It seemed as if his eyes wanted to see through Peter. It was obvious that he couldn't believe the news.
"Uh, Noah, why are you..." Peter was full of doubts and wanted to ask Noah why he suddenly revealed this secret.
Although Ned is his best friend, Peter has always felt that the fewer people who know the identity of a superhero, the better. After all, whether in novels or movies, there are many scenes where the identity of a superhero is exposed and his friends and relatives are killed by villains.
Therefore, Peter never revealed his secret to anyone, even his closest Aunt May was kept in the dark. But he never expected that Noah called Ned to directly expose his identity.
"Don't worry, Peter, show Ned a hand." Noah said, raising his hand and pointing in Peter's direction. A magical power struck like lightning, instantly throwing Peter's body towards the ceiling.
"What!" Peter's spider sense gave him a warning, but the speed of the magic was too fast, and he had no time to dodge, and was thrown directly to the ceiling. Instinctively, he quickly pressed his palm against the ceiling, and the mutated spider barbs on his hand were firmly embedded in the ceiling, making him stick to it steadily and hang there. (It's not clear whether the Holland version of Spider-Man has barbs, but it is set here.)
"Wah!!!" Ned's eyes almost popped out when he saw Peter's actions, and his mouth was wide open enough to fit an egg. However, he was not scared or panicked, but excited. After all, his good brother was actually a superhero, which was a real treat for him!
"Wait, Noah, you seemed to have used some super powers just now, right?" Ned's observation ability was quite sharp, and he was not distracted by Peter's identity as Spider-Man. Soon, he shifted his attention to Noah, his eyes fixed on Noah's hands, after all, he had clearly seen Noah's actions just now.
"Haha, that's right, Ned, you have a good eye." Noah smiled and spread out his palm, a ball of red flame magic swirled around his palm. The flame was like a lively elf, jumping and flickering, emitting a slight heat wave.
"The power of magic, isn't it amazing?" Noah said with a smile. Ned's attention was instantly attracted by the dancing flame. His eyes were full of amazement and curiosity. His body leaned forward unconsciously, wanting to observe this magical magic more closely.
At this time, Peter slowly descended from the ceiling, with a puzzled look on his face and a frown on his face. He looked at Noah and asked, "Noah, why did you tell Ned about this? Of course, Ned, I'm not targeting you, it's just..."
However, before Noah could respond, Ned spoke up first, "Wait, Noah, Peter, I saw news online that a lot of people in the world have suddenly awakened superpowers recently, and it seems that we have some too. Could it be that you two are one of them?"
As Ned spoke, a hint of envy flashed across his face and a gleam of desire in his eyes. He also wanted to have that kind of cool superpower.
"Peter's abilities were acquired due to a genetic mutation, but mine were acquired earlier," Noah explained.
"Don't worry, Peter, I understand what you are worried about. But I do this for a reason." Noah looked at Peter's slightly worried expression and said softly.
Then, Noah spread out his palm, a ray of light flashed, and a Kamar-Taj ring appeared in his palm. The ring was simple and mysterious, with strange runes engraved on the ring body, and it flickered with a faint light under the light.
"What is this?" Peter and Ned came over curiously. Peter had never seen this thing before. His eyes were full of confusion and curiosity. He leaned forward slightly and stretched his neck, wanting to find out what it was.
"This is an ancient magic organization, the Ring of Kamar-Taj, which allows people with magical talents to control the power of magic."
