Chapter 1538 Stealing food
Ryan's eyes widened, and he said in surprise, "How can you say something like cheating openly? There has to be some mystery, otherwise it would be so boring."
"Does that count as cheating?" Kuro's face wore a puzzled expression, his brow furrowed slightly, as if the term "cheating" was completely baffling to him. He then grabbed some nearby firewood and tossed it forcefully into the blaze. With a roar, the flames erupted, devouring the wood like an enraged beast. Thick smoke swirled high into the sky, threatening to burst through the treetops.
Meanwhile, high above the clouds, Enel lay comfortably, listening to the conversation between the two men below, his face filled with disdain. He curled his lips and muttered, "These two... what a riotous couple." With that, his body instantly transformed into a blinding bolt of lightning, exploding with a crackling sound before vanishing without a trace, leaving only the fading flash of lightning flickering in the air. He had important things to do, and didn't have time to listen to these two's idle chatter.
In the afternoon, sunlight filtered through the leaves, creating patches of golden light. Ryan and Kuro rode on clouds, slowly descending to their makeshift base camp. This base camp was built on a relatively flat, open space, surrounded by a simple fence made of thick tree trunks. Inside, some daily necessities and weapons and equipment were stored.
As soon as the two landed, they looked around eagerly, their eyes scanning the base camp like radar. "Has Tisza and the others not arrived yet?" Kuro searched for a long time but couldn't see Tisza and the others. A hint of anxiety appeared on his face.
Ryan was picking his teeth, a half-broken gold toothpick in his hand, his movements leisurely and carefree. Hearing Craw's words, he looked up and said with a smile, "Captain, the way you pick your teeth, anyone with eyes wide open can tell we're going to have a little treat."
Kuro was stunned for a moment, then reacted, with an embarrassed expression on his face, and said, "Oh, then I won't pick my teeth." After that, the golden toothpick in his hand suddenly disappeared, as if it was sucked away by an invisible force.
Suddenly, without warning, a delicate, voluptuous pink flower emerged from the ground. Like a spirit, it held a mystical aura. Then, it grew at an astonishing rate, its petals unfolding and expanding, as if propelled by an invisible force. Finally, with a gentle yet striking "crackling" sound, the petals instantly exploded, transforming into a shower of dancing petals. Robin's figure solidified within these vibrant petals.
"You're back." Robin stood gracefully with a faint smile on his face and said softly.
Kuro raised his head, looked at Robin, and asked, "Well, where are Tiza and the others?"
Robin tilted his head slightly, thought for a moment, and replied, "Still on the way. Probably won't arrive until tomorrow."
Kuro nodded slightly, indicating that he understood.
"Also, Enel has captured a team, and Zango is leading his men to interrogate them." Robin seemed to have suddenly thought of something important and said to Kuro.
Kuro raised his eyebrows, becoming interested, and asked, "Team? How many people?"
"Twenty," Robin replied simply.
Hearing this number, Kuro didn't take it too seriously. Just twenty people, he thought, it was probably just a small group of pirates sent out to buy supplies. "Whose people?" Kuro asked.
Robin smiled helplessly and said, "It's not clear yet. Enel electrocuted them as soon as he met them."
Kuro's mind immediately flashed to Enel's arrogant appearance. He suddenly appeared in front of those guys, waved his hands, and a powerful lightning bolt instantly erupted, knocking everyone unconscious. "This guy is really quick," Kuro said with a smile.
"Tell me when you've found out." Kuro said to Robin.
"Okay." Robin responded, and then his body suddenly exploded, turning into petals flying all over the sky again and disappearing into the air.
At this moment, outside the interrogation room, Robin lowered his crossed arms and happened to bump into the Golden Lion. The Golden Lion's tall body was like a small mountain. He frowned and asked, "Is Kuro back?"
"Well, I've already told him about these guys," Robin responded.
The Golden Lion curled his lips in disdain and said, "These guys probably aren't of much use." In his opinion, they were just some harmless ants and not worth his attention at all.
Robin smiled and did not answer the Golden Lion.
After a while, Zangao came to Robin with two pieces of paper, looking very excited. "Sister Robin, this is great news!" Zangao waved the papers in his hand, his eyes sparkling with excitement.
Looking at Zangao's excited expression, Robin guessed that the interrogation might have yielded some results, so he asked, "Did you find out?"
