Chapter 1572 Unexpected Reinforcements
Ivankov felt a surge of immense force, a sharp pain in his abdomen, as if struck by a speeding train. He spat out a mouthful of blood, which, like red raindrops, traced poignant arcs through the mist. His body, like a cannonball, launched uncontrollably from the thick fog, hurtling towards the distant mountain.
However, this wasn't the end. The moment Ivankov flew out, a golden shockwave, like a roaring dragon, roared out from Kuro's hand and followed closely. The shockwave radiated a dazzling light, compressing and distorting the air wherever it passed.
"Bang!" Ivankov's body slammed hard into the mountain, the immense force causing it to tremble. His body sank deeply into the mountain, as if gripped tightly by an invisible hand. Rocks tumbled down from the surrounding area, raising a cloud of dust.
"Boom!" Immediately afterwards, the golden shockwave descended, like the wrath of a god, instantly shattering half the mountain. Under the ravages of the shockwave, the mountain collapsed like shredded paper. Huge boulders tumbled down, raising clouds of dust that obscured the sky, like a doomsday disaster.
The thick fog gradually dissipated under this violent impact, revealing a devastated battlefield. Kuro stood still, the long sword in his hand still flashing with a cold light. His eyes remained calm, but beneath that calmness, a terrifying power was hidden.
Ivankov was buried in the rubble at this time, with multiple injuries on his body. Blood kept flowing out of his wounds, staining the surrounding stones red.
His breathing was weak and rapid, his eyes revealed a hint of despair, but more of an unyielding fighting spirit. He struggled to stand up, and every movement was accompanied by severe pain, but he still gritted his teeth and refused to give up.
Kuro looked at Ivankov and walked slowly towards him. His steps were steady and powerful, and every step seemed to step on Ivankov's heart.
When Kuro reached Ivankov, he stopped and looked down at his stubborn but pathetic opponent.
"Do you want to continue?" Kuro's voice was calm and indifferent, as if he was asking an irrelevant question.
Ivankov raised his head and glared at Kuro with all his strength, gritting his teeth and saying, "As long as I have breath left in me, I will never let you go!"
Kuro frowned slightly, a hint of subtle admiration flashing across his eyes. But soon, his expression returned to indifference. "In that case, don't blame me for being rude."
After saying this, he raised the long sword in his hand again, and the light on the sword became more and more dazzling.
Ivankov looked at the long knife, a feeling of determination welling up in his heart. He took a deep breath, mobilized the last bit of strength in his body, and prepared to make a final struggle.
At this moment, a noisy sound suddenly came from the distance, as if a group of people were rushing towards this side.
The Battle of Blood and Fury (Continued)
Kuro paused in his movement, preparing to deliver a fatal blow to Ivankov, and slowly turned his head, his gaze piercing in the direction of the sound. In the distance, smoke and dust billowed like a raging tide, obscuring the sky and the sun, as if a sandstorm were bearing down.
Amidst the dense cloud of dust, a figure rushed forward like an arrow from a bow. It was Sabo. His physique was swift, his steps quick yet steady and powerful, each one like a step upon a war drum, emitting a dull and powerful sound. Behind him, a naval force followed closely, their steps moving in perfect unison, their footsteps like waves crashing against rocks, a forceful and imposing sight.
"Are there still some naval personnel who've slipped through the net?" Kuro's expression suddenly darkened, a flicker of displeasure and alarm flashing across his once calm eyes. His brow furrowed slightly, as if he was wondering what kind of trouble this sudden arrival of the navy might bring him.
Meanwhile, Ivankov, lying wounded amidst the rubble, was filled with astonishment the moment Sabo appeared. His eyes widened, as if he had witnessed something unbelievable. "Run, Sabo! You're no match for this guy!" Ivankov shouted at the top of his lungs, his voice thick with worry and anxiety.
It was unclear whether Sabo had heard Ivankov's cry, but he clenched the water pipe tightly. In his hands, the pipe seemed to transform into a peerless divine weapon, emitting a unique aura. Then, a powerful force surged from his body, and his armament Haki, like a black flame, instantly covered his arm. The black Haki shimmered with a mysterious luster, as if it contained endless power.
"Bloody Blade!" A voice filled with hatred erupted from Sabo's mouth, each word squeezed out from between his teeth, carrying with it a deep-seated hatred. This hatred was like a substance, spreading through the air and making people shudder.
Sabo flashed, dashing towards Kuro like a ghost. His speed was so swift that he left a trail of shadows in the air. He raised the water pipe high in his hand and swung it down towards Kuro. As it swung, the pipe seemed to transform into a sharp, blood-red blade, carrying a fierce aura. Wherever it passed, the air whistled.
Kuro's eyes focused, and he reacted quickly. He held the long sword horizontally, blocking the way. "Dang!" With a loud bang, Sabo's water pipe and Kuro's long sword collided with each other, making a deafening sound. The powerful impact spread out from the collision point, sending the surrounding debris flying like bullets.
Kuro felt a tremendous force emanating from the blade, causing him to sway slightly, but he quickly regained his composure. He sneered, "You dare challenge me?" Before he finished speaking, he swung the longsword in his hand, its blade flashing with a cold light as it slashed towards Sabo's backhand.
Sabo reacted quickly, stepping back and simultaneously swung the pipe in his hand to block Kuro's attack. "Hmph, don't underestimate me!" Sabo roared, then exerted his strength again. The Armament Haki on the pipe grew even more intense, flowing like black magma. He thrust forward fiercely, trying to force Kuro back.
Seeing this, Kuro's eyes flashed with admiration, but soon returned to indifference.
He pushed the ground hard with both feet, and his body flew backwards like a cannonball, creating some distance between him and Sabo.
Then, he swung the long sword in his hand, and a sharp sword energy slashed towards Sabo.
The sword energy was like a giant silver dragon, carrying a destructive aura. Wherever it passed, a deep gully was carved into the ground.
Sabo didn't dare to be careless. He dodged the sword energy by moving sideways. But the sword energy's power remained undiminished and continued to rush forward, destroying the forest in the distance!
"What a powerful slash!" Sabo secretly exclaimed in his heart, but he did not retreat. Instead, he became more determined to fight.
At this moment, the navy troops behind him had also arrived. They quickly deployed their formation and surrounded Kuro. Kuro looked at the navy around him, his lips curled up slightly, revealing a hint of disdain. "With just a bunch of you scum, you think you can stop me?" he said contemptuously.
However, the sailors were not angered by his words. They looked serious, holding their weapons tightly in their hands, ready to attack at any time.
