Chapter 357: Course Selection and Percy's Intrusion
This year's Easter is really different because the second graders have something new to worry about. They should choose the third grade courses...
"Hey, everyone, do we need to sit together and discuss even things like course selection now?" Draco asked with some confusion.
"There's no other way. I'm fed up with my family. They've given me many different suggestions on course selection." Neville's eyes widened, and he turned to Yang Tian out of habit for help. "I'm completely confused now. I have no idea what to do."
"Well, it's not a difficult choice." Yang Tian explained with a smile, "The audience for divination classes is very small, and those without talent can't even get started. So, if you don't want to make up stories to deceive the professor all day, just pass it; if your future positioning is to engage in a job that is closely related to Muggles, then you must choose Muggle Studies; otherwise, forget it, the knowledge taught in the class has no practical value."
"Are you so sure?" Hermione asked hesitantly.
Before Yang Tian could answer, Percy, who was not far away, suddenly stepped forward and said loudly: "I have to say, you are ignorant! You are like many ordinary people who think that choosing Muggle Studies is stupid. But I tell you, you are wrong. Wizards should have a comprehensive and thorough understanding of the Muggle world. Even if you don't work in a Muggle-related job in the future, this course will still teach you a lot."
After saying that, Percy looked at Yang Tian provocatively, as if to protest against him. This action made Yang Tian confused. Where did this resentment come from? He didn't seem to have offended this guy.
However, Yang Tian has never been a parent who spoils his children. He spread his hands and said indifferently: "We all know how obsessed Mr. Arthur is with the Muggle world, and he has been engaged in Muggle-related work for many years. But even he is not as good as a newly enrolled wizard from the Muggle world in terms of conversation, dress, behavior, and understanding of Muggles. It's really fake at first glance. Some people may think that studying Muggles from the perspective of the magical world will make people fascinated, but the reality is that the Muggle Studies course has seriously lagged behind the development of the real Muggle world. Apart from a certificate, I really don't know what it can bring us."
Hearing this, Percy couldn't help but accuse again: "You...you haven't taken this course, what right do you have to say that? You are slandering the professor of the school!"
Yang Tian responded without showing any weakness: "Oh, Senior Percy has studied this course. Can you tell me what you learned?" After saying that, a hint of disdain appeared on his face.
"Of course, no problem. Muggle Studies covers almost all the knowledge in the Muggle world, such as electricity, mechanics... there are too many to list," Percy explained proudly.
"In that case, can you tell me about the basic principles and specific implementation methods of hydropower generation?" Yang Tian raised the corners of his mouth slightly and continued to ask.
"Uh...well..." Percy's face changed slightly, obviously stumped by the question.
"Also, how is electricity applied to Muggle items through machinery?" Yang Tian smiled jokingly and asked another question, "By the way, Senior Percy has a Muggle car at home. So, how does electricity make a four-wheeled car run? Can you explain it in detail?"
"I...you...I haven't learned all that yet, but it's not that hard, is it?" Percy stammered as cold sweat began to form on his forehead.
"Just a levitation spell can make the car float." He finally said stubbornly.
"Hermione, how about you give Senior Percy some general knowledge?" Yang Tian really didn't want to say anything more to him.
Hermione looked at Yang Tian with some embarrassment. She didn't want to make the situation so awkward. But after thinking about it, she made up her mind and briefly explained the answers to these questions.
Percy's face turned very ugly, and he seemed to want to refute something, but he swallowed the words back when they came to his lips.
Yang Tian glanced at Percy coldly and continued mercilessly: "You have studied Muggle Studies for so many years, but you are not as good as a twelve-year-old little wizard who has not received the baptism of Muggle Studies? If you still have questions, you can go to the Muggle world and ask those younger Muggles. They know more than you! So, please don't always talk nonsense in the fields that others are good at. I really don't understand. I have studied Muggle Studies for several years, but I am not even as good as the other party's children. What is the point of learning this course?"
Percy was so angry that his face turned red. He pointed his finger at Yang Tian but couldn't say a word.
"If you make a mistake you must admit it, and if you are beaten you must stand at attention! Just do what you should do!" Yang Tian was even more unhappy.
Percy left, trembling, without saying a word...
Looking at Percy's receding back, Zhang Qiu couldn't help but frown. She asked in a low voice: "Yang Tian, the way you treated Percy just now, will he resent you? After all, we are classmates and we will have to get along with each other in the future..." There was a hint of worry and uneasiness in her tone.
"What can he do to me?" Yang Tian's face was still gloomy, and it was obvious that he was still angry. "We were originally chatting here, and everyone was talking enthusiastically, and the atmosphere was harmonious. But he just jumped out to ask for a scolding! This is the first time for us to be human, how can I indulge him? Why? Did I provoke him?"
"Yes, that's right!" Penelope agreed immediately. But the other friends looked at her with strange eyes.
Seeing this scene, Yang Tian couldn't help but ask in confusion: "What's wrong? Are you hiding something from me?"
"It's actually nothing serious." Penelope explained apologetically, "It's all because of what happened on Valentine's Day. After he recovered from his injury, he secretly conducted an investigation and finally found an imaginary rival in love..."
"What do you mean?" Yang Tian raised his eyebrows, and a bad feeling welled up in his heart: "Wait, this so-called imaginary rival, could it be me?"
“Hahahaha…” The friends couldn’t hold back any longer and burst into laughter.
After being stunned for a while, Yang Tian finally spoke again: "Senior Penelope, you have to treat me to a meal. Ten meals, no, twenty meals at least! Otherwise, it will not make up for the trauma in my heart."
"Okay, okay, seeing how pitiful you look, I will reluctantly agree." Penelope was in a good mood.
"Wow! Twenty meals! Brothers, come with me and make her bankrupt!" Yang Tian cheered.
When the friends heard this, they all laughed wildly again...
