Chapter 2 Golden Petals

"Everyone, leave." Jiang Jiang waved his hand, without moving his wide sleeves.

The palace maids and eunuchs bowed in unison, said "Yes," and then walked out of the door.

Jiang Jiang held his head in his hands, rested his chin on the armrest of the chair, and sighed with his lips pursed.

“It’s really heavy.”

[…These headdresses are made of real gold and silver, so of course they are heavy.]

"Can I pick some and take them away?"

[…You can take it off, but you can’t take it away. ]

"Ah? You can't take it with you? What a pity!"

Jiang Jiang pulled off half of the pearl hairpins on her head, and finally she didn't have to hold her head up when walking.

"Can you please not have the clothes? They are so heavy and layered! They are so uncomfortable."

[Don’t take it off…] The system was ashamed, [There are many rules in the palace. If you make a mistake, your entire clan will be implicated. Don’t change the rules…] You will die…

Everyone in the palace retreated outside the door.

Jiang Jiang lifted her skirt and walked swayingly in the spacious room.

"The shoes are so weird, it's hard to walk in them, and the skirt is so long and big..." Jiang Jiang complained.

She had just gotten used to the shoes but not the hem of her skirt. She was still learning to walk, so she called a palace maid in to help her walk.

I was learning to walk without lifting my skirt when suddenly a large group of people appeared at the door.

The palace maid and eunuch knelt on the ground.

"Greetings to the Queen Mother! Greetings to the Imperial Concubine!"

The palace maid who was supporting Jiang Jiang pressed Jiang Jiang's arm calmly, and Jiang Jiang knelt down, "Greetings to the Queen Mother, greetings to the Imperial Concubine!" Jiang Jiang couldn't raise her head due to the heavy headdress, and the hem of her golden orange skirt stopped in front of Jiang Jiang's eyes.

Before Jiang Jiang could see clearly what the person who came looked like, a slender hand pinched his chin and forced him to look up. Then another hand slapped him in the face, and his face immediately turned red.

"Bitch! How dare you poison me!"

"How dare you! The emperor and I are still alive. It is not your turn as a concubine to hit the emperor's concubines. Get out of here!"

The woman was in tears. She wiped her eyes with a handkerchief and stepped aside aggrieved. "Yes, Queen Mother, I know I was wrong."

The woman wearing a phoenix hairpin sat on the main seat in the palace. Her jade hands fell heavily on the armrest of the chair. Her phoenix eyes were majestic and sharp, and her gaze fell on Jiang Jiang. "Empress Hui! Why did you poison me!"

Jiang Jiang moved his knees, followed the Queen Mother's footsteps, and finally knelt facing the main seat.

Concubine Hui?

Am I Concubine Hui?

Concubine Hui poisoned?

What poison?

How did you poison him?

I didn't poison!

It was Concubine Hui who poisoned him, not me!

Jiang Jiang lowered her head, respectfully and calmly, "I did not poison." Although she didn't know what had happened, she couldn't admit her guilt easily. What if it was a slander?

But as soon as Jiang Jiang said this, the woman in the orange dress suddenly rushed over and pushed Jiang Jiang down, "Bitch! How dare you quibble!"

Jiang Jiang had not yet gotten used to the heavy headdress. After being pushed hard by the imperial concubine, Jiang Jiang fell onto the table beside her. The headdress and her head tilted to one side, her waist hit the table, and her arms knocked off half of the items on the table.

The box containing golden petals fell to the ground, broke open, and the petals scattered all over the ground.

The imperial concubine's eyes were wide open, and she pointed her trembling index finger at the petals on the ground and started crying.

"Bitch, you still say you didn't poison me. Here's the evidence! We caught you red-handed! What else do you have to argue about?"

She turned around and knelt on the ground, crying out to the woman in the main seat of the room, "Queen Dowager! Please, Queen Dowager, make the decision for me! Queen Dowager!"

Jiang Jiang wanted to stand up, but her skirt was too long and her clothes were too heavy, so she couldn't stand up. Even if she stood up, she would fall down immediately because of her instability.

She straightened her head, her headdress fell off, her hair was disheveled, Jiang Jiang touched her waist and cried out in pain.
