Chapter 914: Adventures on the Journey
"Let's go, messenger of the Water God!" Zhang Meng shouted excitedly, holding the staff in his hand, as if he was already the successor of the Water God, and walked briskly in front.
"Mengzi, slow down! Don't let your staff fly away!" Qing'er chased after him, looking helpless.
"I won't let the Water God's magic weapon get damaged! We have to find the evil and protect the village!" Zhang Meng spoke in a loud and powerful voice, but he was actually already running in front, panting.
"Speaking of which, where exactly is the existence of evil?" Qin Feng followed behind, looking around.
"I heard that there is an evil nest on the other side of the mountain. There are some monsters living in it, who are dedicated to causing trouble!" Zhang Meng explained while running, completely unaware that he had crossed the stream.
"Wait, I think there is some truth in what you said, but we have to be careful." Qin Feng reminded.
"Don't worry, I have the magic weapon of the Water God, I am invincible!" Zhang Meng was full of confidence, and suddenly turned around and asked, "By the way, puppy, do you think I'm powerful?"
The puppy barked, as if responding to him.
"Listen, even the puppy supports me!" Zhang Meng laughed proudly.
"Well, there's no point in supporting you, we still need to make a plan." Qing'er said, rolling her eyes.
"Yes, yes, the plan is very important." Zhang Meng nodded, "Then, let's split up and see if we can find any clues!"
"Act separately? Isn't this a disguised way of asking me to leave?" Qing'er said helplessly.
"What I meant by splitting up was that we should go together but look for clues separately!" Zhang Meng explained, completely unaware that he had said the wrong thing.
"Okay, you are responsible for finding water, Qing'er is responsible for finding flowers, and I am responsible for maintaining elegance." Qin Feng joked with a smile.
"What? I'm responsible for finding flowers?" Qing'er was dissatisfied, "I don't want to make a wreath for you!"
"Then you are responsible for fighting monsters!" Zhang Meng smiled mischievously.
"Okay, okay, but the prerequisite is that you have to stay by my side, otherwise I won't dare!" Qing'er compromised helplessly.
"No problem! Let's defeat evil together!" Zhang Meng's blood boiled, as if he had already seen the glory of victory.
According to everyone's plan, the team set off again. Zhang Meng walked in front, Qin Feng followed closely behind, and Qing'er secretly checked the backpacks at the back to make sure there was enough water and food.
"By the way, does everyone feel that this journey has been too peaceful?" Qin Feng suddenly asked, his eyes alert.
"Calm? You mean that after we finally found the evil lair, we still have to go through thrilling adventures?" Zhang Meng looked confused.
"That's right. The calmer it is, the more likely it is to be dangerous!" Qin Feng said, looking around.
"I'm not afraid of danger! Come on, evil monster! I'm ready!" Zhang Meng clenched his fists, his face full of confidence.
"It's easy to say, but if there is real danger, we must cooperate well." Qing'er reminded.
"Of course! Cooperation is the key!" Zhang Meng said, and then his face changed, "Wait, there is a shadow ahead!"
"Black shadow? Where is it?" Qing'er immediately became alert and looked around.
"Let me see!" Zhang Meng pricked up his ears and stared straight ahead. "Listen! It sounds like a monster's voice!"
Sure enough, a low roar came from the distance, like some kind of beasts fighting. The team suddenly became tense and everyone looked at each other.
"Should we... go over and take a look?" Qing'er asked cautiously.
"Of course we have to go and take a look! Maybe we can find evidence of evil here!" Zhang Meng was full of confidence.
"Are you sure you don't want to watch the fun?" Qin Feng teased.
"I am a brave soldier, how could I just watch the fun!" Zhang Meng curled his lips and quickly ran towards the source of the sound.
"Hey! Wait for me!" Qing'er shouted while running, following closely behind.
"Mengzi, you are too fast, I can't catch up!" Qin Feng shouted helplessly, but still quickened his pace and caught up.
A few minutes later, they finally arrived at the source of the sound. What they saw was a mess and several small monsters fighting.
"Wow, this is really a monster battle scene!" Zhang Meng was stunned, "These little guys are fighting so fiercely!"
"Are you talking about those little monsters? They seem a bit pitiful." Qing'er felt a little sympathetic.
"Poor? You don't want to save them?" Qin Feng joked.
"I think it might just be a misunderstanding! Come, let's go and ask!" Zhang Meng said, and walked forward.
"Wait a minute, don't be impulsive!" Qing'er held him back, "What if they turn around and attack?"
"I have the magic weapon of the God of Water in my hand, what am I afraid of!" Zhang Meng said boldly, then rushed forward.
"Why do I feel like this is not going well..." Qing'er followed hesitantly.
"Hi, what are you doing?" Zhang Meng waved at the monsters with a fearless look on his face.
The little monsters stopped and turned their heads, with confusion and vigilance in their eyes.
"I say, you guys are having a really lively fight!" Zhang Meng clapped his hands, seeming to be unconcerned.
"Who are you?" one of the little monsters asked warily, with a hint of hostility in his eyes.
"I am the messenger of the water god, and I am here to defeat evil!" Zhang Meng was full of confidence, with his chest puffed out.
"The messenger of the Water God? Haha, how interesting! We are not afraid of the Water God!" another little monster laughed.
"Then why are you fighting? Isn't there a better way?" Qing'er stepped forward and tried to mediate the situation.
"We are fighting for this gem!" The little monster pointed to a sparkling stone on the ground.
"Gems? Then you can share them together!" Zhang Meng suggested, appearing very enthusiastic.
"Sharing? Sounds good, but we are used to fighting!" The little monsters looked at each other, seeming a little hesitant.
"How about we have a competition to see who is better? The winner can get the gem!" Zhang Meng suggested.
"Competition? Do you think you can win?" One of the little monsters sneered.
"Of course I can win! I am the messenger of the Water God and possess unparalleled power!" Zhang Meng was unwilling to be outdone.
"Okay, then let's compete to see who is stronger!" The little monsters smiled at each other, seeming to be interested in this idea.
"So what are the rules of the game?" Qing'er asked worriedly.
"It's simple. Whoever pushes the other to the ground first will be the winner!" said the little monster excitedly, as if he was already prepared.
"Isn't this too easy?" Qing'er sighed, "Mengzi, is this competition really possible?"
"Of course! I will let them see the power of the Water God!" Zhang Meng was full of confidence and began to warm up.
"Okay, let's start!" The little monsters were eager to try.
"Come on! Get ready for my challenge!" Zhang Meng shouted, and then rushed towards one of the little monsters.
"Oh, be careful, Mengzi!" Qing'er pinched her heart, seeing that things were about to become complicated.
Zhang Meng rushed forward, ready to push the little monster down. Unexpectedly, the little monster was not to be outdone, and rushed forward, and the two collided in an instant.
"Boom!" With a loud noise, Zhang Meng and the little monster were both knocked back.
"This... this is not the result I want!" Zhang Meng staggered and quickly steadied himself.
The little monster also showed a surprised expression, obviously not expecting the opponent's power to be so strong.
"Come again!" Zhang Meng shouted excitedly and rushed towards the little monster again.
This time, the little monster was better prepared and used its agility to dodge.
"You want to beat me? Too naive!" The little monster grinned and turned around to pounce on Zhang Meng.
Zhang Meng quickly dodged to the side, but he didn't expect that another little monster would attack him from the side.
"Ouch!" Zhang Meng was startled and knocked to the ground in an instant.
