Chapter 155: Deep Fear
After explaining the magic to drive away Peeves, Lupin took out the key and opened the door of the classroom.
He smiled warmly at the students and said, "Come here! It will be a pleasant class!"
Following the crowd into the classroom, Wright looked around. The classroom looked a bit old.
Because the tables and chairs in the room are piled in a corner, the whole classroom looks particularly spacious!
Lupin, who was walking in front, stopped at an old cabinet and called the students over.
When everyone approached, the wardrobe suddenly shook violently, as if someone was struggling violently inside.
The little wizards were all startled and couldn't help but take a few steps back, but Wright felt a strange connection from the shaking cabinet.
Seeing his students so nervous, Lupin began to explain soothingly: "Don't worry, this is the creature we are going to learn about in class, the Boggart!"
"This Boggart strayed here yesterday. I asked the principal to leave it for me as a teaching aid."
"This creature likes to hide in dark and enclosed places, but it is not very aggressive. It can only become something that people fear..."
"And the spell we're going to use against the Boggart is: Ridiculous Ridiculous!"
After listening to Lupin's explanation, the little wizards all breathed a sigh of relief and looked at the still shaking cabinet curiously.
Looking at the students who were eager to try, Lupin accurately found Neville, the most panicked one among them.
He whispered, "Mr. Longbottom! I need you to help me."
"Me...me?" Neville, with a panicked face, was pushed out by the crowd and looked timidly at Lupin and the quaint cabinet.
"Yes! Come on, it's okay, I'm here, don't worry!" Lupin encouraged Neville in a gentle tone.
The little wizards around also gave encouragement. With so much support, Neville moved closer to the cabinet.
As if sensing someone approaching, the wardrobe began to shake even more violently.
The little wizards watching on the sidelines were all staring intently at the next scene, looking forward to it immensely.
Lupin walked up to Neville and whispered, "Are you ready?"
Neville gritted his teeth, gripped his wand tightly, looked at the old cabinet and nodded nervously.
"Okay, let's start now!"
As soon as he finished speaking, Lupin raised the wand in his right hand and shot a beam of fire towards the cabinet, which soon hit the handle of the wardrobe.
The sealed cabinet door was opened, and a cloud of black mist poured out and kept swirling. The twisted black mist looked like wriggling limbs.
The sudden appearance of the horrifying scene frightened the little wizards watching around and made them scream.
"Don't panic, we just need to stay a little further away from it. The Boggart encountered too many thoughts and couldn't find its target for a while."
Lu Ping calmed the somewhat panicked little wizards and instructed them to stay away.
After a while, the Boggart, who had found its target, immediately stabilized and transformed into Snape, who was wearing a black robe and had a gloomy face.
'Snape' appeared in front of everyone and walked towards the frightened Neville as if he had found his prey.
Snape, with a sinister face and extremely cold eyes, was getting closer.
"Ah!!!" Neville, who was so frightened that his face showed an expression, retreated repeatedly facing the approaching Snape.
"Calm down! Mr. Longbottom! Come and recite 'Funny Funny' with me!" Lupin stepped forward calmly, supported Neville, and gave him gentle instructions.
With support, Neville took a deep breath, raised his wand, and tremblingly shouted to Snape who was almost touching him, "Funny!"
Snape, who was under the curse, retreated again and again, his body kept shaking and changing.
Finally, "Snape" stopped and his black robe turned into a lace dress.
There was a hat decorated with a dried vulture on his head, and he was holding a red handbag in his hands, looking around in panic.
The young wizards burst into laughter when they saw the female version of Snape, even Neville, who was terrified just now, laughed.
Harry and Ron, who were the most oppressed by him, laughed louder than anyone else.
As the laughter appeared, 'Snape' was also dispelled and turned into a black mist.
Then, Lupin asked the little wizards to face the Boggart one by one and use magic to fight fear.
The little wizard continued to appear on the stage, and Wright watched Bogut turn into all kinds of strange things.
He could feel that the Boggart was growing stronger, and the things it created were becoming more realistic.
When it was Harry's turn, it seemed to bare its fangs, and faced Harry as a Dementor wearing a tattered cloak and emitting a cold breath.
The strange aura and the chilling chill instantly shattered Harry's resistance. He stood there in a daze, helplessly looking at the Dementors that were rushing towards him.
"Harry..." Lupin was about to rush to save Harry when he heard a hoarse, sharp, distorted voice.
In an instant, he seemed to hear his most fearful and desperate voice.
Under the brilliant full moon, I helplessly waited for myself to lose consciousness and transform into the first howl of a werewolf.
Lupin came to his senses after being stunned for a long time. He immediately looked at Harry and found that he was just pale, so he breathed a sigh of relief.
And the Dementors in the air turned into black mist at the strange sound and slowly floated back to the cabinet.
Lupin, frightened and breaking out in a cold sweat, frowned as he scanned the classroom and the little wizards present.
The instigator, Light, narrowed his eyes and looked at the panicked Lupin, with a thoughtful gleam in his eyes.
"Can a mere sound do this? Is it just targeting one individual?"
I glanced at the little wizards around me, but didn't find any frightened expressions on their faces.
Looking at Lupin who was still looking for something unusual, Light murmured, "Maybe it has nothing to do with people, as long as certain conditions are met."
"It seems that the deeper the fear in one's heart, the more powerless one will be in the face of nightmares."
After searching for a long time without finding the problem, Lupin had to interrupt the next class to avoid any accidents.
This caused dissatisfaction among the young wizards who had never experienced it, and they protested.
Lupin was let off by the young wizards only after he paid the price of giving Gryffindor 50 extra points and making the next Defense Against the Dark Arts class more exciting.
At the end of the class, Lupin clapped his hands to draw the attention of the young wizards to him, and began to assign homework:
"This is the end of our class. You are all great and excellent!"
"So, I want your homework to show what you know about Boggarts. Please hand it in to me on Monday."
When the young wizards heard that the course was over, they all felt it was a pity.
After all, this was the best Defense Against the Dark Arts class they had ever had since they started school.
On the way to lunch after class, the little wizards were talking to each other, completely immersed in the magical experience they had just had.
The students who had defeated Bogut kept bragging about how strong they were in front of the students who didn't have the chance to play.
