Chapter 1617 Telepathy
Capone Becky's deformed, swollen head was far too heavy. His already short and weak body, especially in comparison, finally could not support the terrifying weight.
He tried to steady himself, but only swayed a few times in vain before collapsing heavily to the ground with a thud, the floor seemingly trembling slightly.
His enormous head jerked back sharply, then, due to its weight, had to laboriously droop forward, a comical and pathetic sight.
At this moment, even with his short upper limbs stretched out as far as he could, he could not touch any part of the top of his head. The silver headband seemed to be growing on a mountaintop that was out of reach.
In stark contrast to this ugly exterior is Capone Becky's unprecedentedly clear and sharp mind.
Despite his vision being somewhat limited by the deformed head and the compression of his facial features, and despite feeling unfamiliar and unable to control his body, his consciousness was extremely active.
Countless thoughts, analyses, and strategies seemed to burst forth in his mind. Past experiences, intelligence he had read, and speculations about people's hearts—all information was quickly categorized and deduced into countless possibilities.
He could even feel that certain areas of his brain were heating up, as if new neural pathways were being forcibly opened.
The unfamiliarity with such a powerful level of intelligence even brought a twisted sense of pleasure.
"It's a bit ugly, but try and see what other power you gain besides wisdom itself," a crisp snap of fingers.
A mirror silently appeared before Capone Becky, clearly reflecting his entire appearance at that moment.
The monster in the mirror can no longer be described as Big Head Son; it is simply a giant head with short limbs.
The silver headband, seemingly adaptable to the expansion of the head, was now tightly wrapped around the middle of that enormous, disproportionately large head.
His originally rugged features were forcibly squeezed into a small area in the center of his face, and his skin shone due to excessive stretching, revealing pale blue blood vessels pulsating slightly beneath the skin.
"This is me?!"
"What an ugly sight! Is this the price of power?"
His enormous head slowly turned, and in the next instant, without warning, Capone Becky's voice rang in Kidd's mind.
The voice didn't enter through his ears, but rang out directly deep within his consciousness, so clear it was chilling. [Telepathy is truly an amazing power. Kidd, recommend a good place!]
Kidd was jolted. He hadn't seen Capone Becky's mouth move, nor had he heard any sound, but the thoughts and tone were clearly those of the mob boss who had just turned into a monster.
He suddenly looked at Capone Becky sitting on the ground. On the other man's huge head, in his small, squeezed eyes, there seemed to be a glimmer of wisdom from a successful experiment.
[Communicating directly at the level of consciousness without words is indeed convenient], Capone Becky's voice rang in Kidd's mind again, this time seemingly more practiced.
Kidd's expression shifted, but in the end he just snorted coldly and tried to respond in his mind: [Don't give me that, mind your new ability].
The sound faded from Kidd's mind, and Capone Becky, with a thought, found a new unlucky victim.
Kaku, who was talking to Lucci, suddenly stiffened.
The excited expression on his face froze instantly, and the light in his eyes quickly dimmed, becoming empty.
To Lucci's astonishment, Kaku unexpectedly took a step to the side, away from Lucci, his movements as stiff as a marionette.
"Kaku, what's wrong?"
Lucci reacted quickly, grabbing Kaku's arm.
Kaku's mouth opened stiffly and slowly. "Lucci, CP9's body is really useful."
It was Capone Becky's voice coming from Kaku's mouth!
Lucci's eyes flashed with shock and anger! His comrade-in-arms, Kaku, who had just completed his power transformation, had been remotely controlled by the other party in the blink of an eye, and even the right to use his body had been taken away.
"What exactly did you do? Give Kaku back!"
He gripped Kaku's arm tightly, trying to awaken Kaku with pain, or at least stop the body from being controlled.
Is this person important to you?
Kaku's throat emitted sounds that weren't his own again as Capone Becky tried more different ways of playing.
Kaku's hands, against his own will, slowly rose, his fingers spread, and then he viciously gripped his own neck.
"Stop!"
With a roar, Lucci gripped Kaku's wrists tightly with both hands like iron clamps. He could feel the strength emanating from Kaku's hands, far exceeding his usual strength, carrying a self-destructive madness.
Kaku's face flushed red, his eyes bulged out in agony as he suffocated. His body struggled instinctively, but he had no control over it.
If he exerted a little more force, with his current strength, he might actually be able to crush his own throat.
"Alright, you can settle your scores after we get out of here," another snap of the fingers.
"Cough! Cough cough cough—!!"
Kaku regained control of his body, his hands that were gripping his neck loosened weakly, and he collapsed as if he had collapsed from exhaustion, only to be held tightly by Lucci.
He knelt down, clutching his throat, and began to gasp for air, his face filled with the terror of surviving a near-death experience.
The feeling of being fully conscious yet forced to watch helplessly as someone tries to kill themselves is more terrifying than any form of torture.
The ability to instantly invade and suppress Kaku's consciousness, turning him into a puppet, is a nightmare for agents who rely on physical skills and Devil Fruit abilities.
"Please forgive me if I have offended you."
Capone Becky felt better than ever before. Not physically, but mentally, manipulating situations with invisible power—it felt wonderful.
As for the hidden pain of losing offspring?
His ambition had long since taken over, and so be it. Capone Becky would use his extraordinary wisdom and unpredictable mental power to build an even more powerful empire.
Capone Becky was sitting on the ground in an unseemly manner, so Kidd helped his ally's large head to a nearby stool, lifting the mob boss's buttocks off the ground.
After leaving the shop, Capone Becky plans to build a flying device so he won't want to walk anymore. He'll feel more intelligent when his feet are off the ground, and he'll gradually adapt to this state.
Like the villain Mordor in a certain world, Capone Becky needs more mechanical devices to assist him, and his brain will be his strongest weapon.
The second transaction was successfully completed.
Kaku's fate instilled in everyone a deep sense of dread regarding telepathy, an ability that is difficult to defend against.
"So, who wants to be the third one?"
