Chapter 561 Redemption
Chapter 561 Redemption
Snape was a little embarrassed for a moment, not expecting Lily to tease him like this. He was never good at dealing with jokes, especially from her.
For a moment, his face turned red involuntarily.
"I..." He opened his mouth, wanting to refute something, but when the words came to his lips, he stuttered, "I am an undercover agent... I must be consistent with the overall image of the Death Eaters."
He tried to act serious, as if to emphasize that this was purely a professional requirement, not his personal aesthetic choice. But after saying this, he couldn't help but add in his heart - more importantly, there is no one in this world who is worth dressing up for.
Lily tilted her head and glanced at him, with a gentle smile in her green eyes, as if she had seen through his thoughts.
"That won't do." She shook her head gently. "Severus, I still prefer the way you were in school. Although you used to have a cold face back then, you were quite sunny most of the time."
"Now..." Lily looked at him seriously, curled her lips slightly, and said with a bit of disgust, "You look gloomy, as if you are always shrouded in a layer of black fog."
"Don't wear this black robe anymore. It doesn't look good! It's better to buy some fashionable and handsome wizard robes. Or it would be nice to buy a few Muggle suits. The suit you wore when you took Harry to the Magic School Potions Championship two years ago was very handsome."
Hearing Lily praising his handsomeness, Snape's face became even hotter, almost smoking. He didn't understand why he would blush in his soul state.
He said nothing, but just looked at Lily stupidly and continued.
"And this hairstyle is too old-fashioned! Severus, you are only in your early thirties, which is the most attractive time for a man. How can you make yourself like this?"
"Listen to me. After the matter with the mysterious man is over, clean yourself up. No matter what, you must look handsome."
"You can ask Sebastian to help you. He can make you look handsome, so he can make you look good now. Got it?"
Looking at Lily's serious expression, Snape blushed and nodded gently: "Got it..."
Hearing Snape's assurance, Lily's smile deepened. She nodded with satisfaction, then cast her gaze back to the sparkling lake, with a look of relief and calmness.
"Severus, we are ready to move on." She said softly, her tone was like a feather, gently falling into Snape's heart, but stirring up a storm.
Snape's face turned pale instantly, and his shyness and embarrassment were completely forgotten. His heartbeat suddenly accelerated, and even his voice was a little anxious: "Go forward? Where to?"
He didn't even bother to think about who the "we" Lily was referring to - he only understood one thing, that is, Lily would no longer stay in the misty fantasy.
Lily's eyes were still gentle, and the corners of her mouth rose slightly, as if to comfort, but also as if to say goodbye: "Go to where we should go, to embrace another great adventure. Severus, we have stayed here for too long."
She sighed softly and looked back at Snape: "Harry has grown up. With you, Mia, and Sebastian taking care of him, he is good enough and no longer needs us to worry about him."
"But..." She paused and looked at Snape, her green eyes full of concern and reluctance, "I still can't let you go, Severus."
Snape was stunned, and his Adam's apple rolled slightly.
Lily's eyes were gentle and serious. She said slowly: "You are my best friend. I don't want to see you trapped in the past forever, sinking in those pains and regrets."
"The fact that you can come to the Twilight Zone means that you have already died once, but when you wake up, I hope you can truly be alive again."
"I hope you can say goodbye to the past, find your own future, and embrace a brand new life that belongs to you alone."
"You have always loved spells and potion research, so stop forcing yourself to be a professor and become a researcher. Immerse yourself in the things that truly make you happy."
"I also hope that you can meet new people, try to start a new relationship, love, and be loved."
Her eyes became gentler and full of longing, as if she saw a bright future.
"I hope you can start a family of your own and be a husband and father a hundred or a thousand times better than your father."
Lily smiled gently and stretched out her right hand towards him, palm facing up, just like when they were young, waiting for him to hold it.
"Severus, you still have a long life ahead of you." Her voice was as gentle as the wind. "Live a wonderful life with my blessings and expectations, okay?"
Hearing this, Snape's throat seemed to be tightly strangled by some invisible force. All the words were stuck in his chest and he couldn't utter them.
He tried hard to say something, but before he opened his mouth, a hot tear quietly slid down his thin cheek and fell into the grass.
He was almost unaware of his tears. He just stared at Lily, as if he wanted to engrave her appearance firmly in his heart.
He never thought that there would be a day like this - Lily Evans would stand in front of him, smile and tell him that she was worried about him.
The pain, regret, and torture of the past... seemed to be blown away by these gentle words, turning into a breeze that caressed his soul.
Snape took a deep breath, his fingertips trembling slightly for a moment, then he raised his hand and shook Lily's hand firmly.
The touch was still warm and real, as if it had crossed the boundary between life and death and pulled him back from the endless darkness into the light.
The corners of his mouth slowly curled up into a smile, that smile carried a hint of relief, a hint of carefreeness, and a hint of... the youthful spirit of the past.
"I will. I will live handsomely."
His smile deepened a little, and the beautiful figure was reflected in his dark eyes.
"I'm going to be an old man, sitting in a rocking chair, telling my grandchildren about my cool life."
"Don't worry, Lily."
Hearing Snape's answer, Lily's eyes brightened a little and she smiled like the lily.
"It would be great......"
As she laughed, bright mist rose again, covering their figures little by little, blurring their outlines.
"Go back, Severus. Please help me thank Mia and Sebastian for giving Harry a warm home."
"Finally, tell Harry we love him..."
