Chapter 1199: Since we're here, let's make the best of it.
Lin Lang gently embraced Gu Ran from behind, resting his chin on the top of her head, looking at the two little ones in the crib with eyes full of unwavering doting affection and tenderness.
“Look, the babies are welcoming their mother. They’re so happy to see you giggling,” Lin Lang said softly, gently touching his son’s waving little fist with his fingertips.
As if sensing something, the little guy gripped Lin Lang's fingertips tightly. Though the grip was small, it instantly struck the softest spot in Lin Lang's heart.
The baby girl wasn't going to be outdone. She rubbed her little head against Gu Ran's palm, licked her lips with her little tongue, and made even more urgent "ee-ya" sounds. She kicked her little arms and legs even more enthusiastically, as if she wanted to rush into her mother's arms.
Gu Ran's heart melted completely. She leaned down and placed a gentle kiss on her daughter's forehead.
"Honey, look how cute our daughter is! She looks exactly like Nuo'er and Luo'er when they were little!"
Looking at her exquisitely beautiful face, Lin Lang smiled gently and said, "Yes! Tian'er is really cute!"
After hearing this, Gu Ran asked with sparkling eyes, "Honey, our daughter's name is Lin Zhitian, right?"
Lin Lang replied, "Yes, isn't Tian'er's name nice?"
"It sounds so sweet! Our Tian'er has such adorable big eyes, she's so beautiful! She looks just like the baby photos my sister and I took when we were little!" Gu Ran's maternal instincts were completely awakened.
"Look, baby, our son is so adorable!"
Gu Ran looked tenderly at the baby boy, bent down and kissed her son's little face. Tears fell onto the crib sheet, leaving small wet stains, but they were full of happiness.
"Honey, what's our son's name?"
Lin Lang replied as prompted by the system: "My son's name is Lin Haoting."
Gu Ran's eyes glistened with tears of happiness as she carefully lifted her son from the crib, gently cradling him in her arms and swaying him softly, all the while kissing his cheek.
"Honey, Ting'er's name is also lovely. So, who was born first?"
Lin Lang watched Gu Ran holding her son with obvious affection and replied softly, "Ting'er was born a minute earlier than Tian'er, so he will be her older brother for life."
After hearing this, Gu Ran teased her son with a smile through her tears, "When Ting'er grows up, you must protect your little sister."
As if he understood his mother's words, Xiao Haoting shook his little head slightly, blinked his big, dark eyes, and suddenly made a series of soft, tender sounds, as if responding in a childish voice.
He squirmed restlessly in Gu Ran's arms, his short, lotus-root-like legs kicking back and forth with little force but full of liveliness. His little feet would occasionally brush against Gu Ran's clothes, carrying the warm touch unique to infants.
Just as Gu Ran was about to bend down and kiss her son again, the little guy suddenly reached out his chubby little hand and accurately grabbed a strand of her long hair that fell over her shoulder, holding it tightly and refusing to let go.
Glistening saliva dripped down his pink lips and onto Gu Ran's hand, sticky yet incredibly cute.
As if he wasn't excited enough, he waved his little arms even more enthusiastically, making "gurgling" sounds in his throat, his little face flushed red, his eyes curved into crescents, and he exuded an indescribable excitement.
Gu Ran was amused by her son's appearance and laughed out loud. Her eyes were still wet with tears, but the corners of her mouth were turned up high.
She gently rubbed her son's drool-covered lips with her fingertip, her voice so soft it could melt water: "Our Ting'er is such a little rascal, so lively and active. He'll definitely grow up to be a sporty little man."
Lin Lang stood to the side, his gaze fixed on Gu Ran and his son. Seeing Xiao Haoting's adorable appearance, he couldn't help but lean down and plant a gentle kiss on his chubby little feet.
The little guy seemed tickled by the sudden touch, and quickly pulled his foot back, then burst into a clear and loud laugh. The "giggle" sound was as melodious as a silver bell, instantly filling the entire room.
Just as the excitement was building, Lin Zhitian, in her crib, became unhappy.
She watched as her parents fawned over her brother, leaving her all alone in her little bed. Her little mouth pursed, and she made a series of rapid "ee-ya—ee-ya—" sounds, as if in protest.
She waved her little arms, kicked the sheets with her short legs, turned her head left and right, and kept her eyes fixed on Lin Lang's figure. She looked like she was eager to be hugged.
Gu Ran saw through her daughter's thoughts at a glance and quickly said to Lin Lang, "Honey, look at Tian'er, she's getting impatient! She wants a hug too, quickly pick her up."
Lin Lang smiled and responded, then bent down and carefully reached out to gently pull his daughter into his arms.
He adjusted his position, letting his daughter lean comfortably against his shoulder. He gently patted her back with his other hand, lowered his head to kiss her rosy cheek, and said in an incredibly gentle voice, "Our Tian'er is so good!"
Held in her father's arms, Xiao Zhitian instantly calmed down. She rubbed her head against Lin Lang's chest, licked her lips with her little tongue, and made a satisfied "mmm" sound.
Little Zhitian looked at Gu Ran with her big, adorable eyes, and twitched her little fingers, seemingly wanting to stick closer to her mother.
Babies enjoy being held by adults, not only because it's comfortable, but also because the perspective is different when they're held, allowing them to see more broadly and instinctively sparking their curiosity and desire to explore.
Gu Ran gently held Xiao Haoting in her arms, freeing one hand to lightly trace the tip of her daughter's delicate nose with her fingertips, her eyes overflowing with tenderness.
Xiao Zhitian grinned and giggled, drool spilling from the corner of her mouth onto Lin Lang's shoulder.
Gu Ran was charmed by her daughter's adorable appearance and coaxed her with tender eyes, "Tian'er is so cute, Mommy loves you so much!"
At the same time, Xiao Haoting seemed particularly attached to his mother's body temperature. He loosened his grip on Gu Ran's long hair and instead curiously touched the crystal buttons on Gu Ran's clothes with his little hands. His big eyes were wide open, full of curiosity.
Gu Ran withdrew her hand from teasing her daughter, and held her son firmly in her arms, letting his soft body hug her closer. The little guy's warm breath brushed against her collarbone, carrying the unique milky scent of a baby.
"Ting'er, call me Mom." Gu Ran lowered her head and rubbed her forehead against her son's forehead.
Lin Lang said with a smile, "My son is only a month old, it's too early for him to call me 'Mom'!"
"Hehe..." Gu Ran couldn't hide her sweet happiness.
Lin Lang gently held his daughter, stroking Xiao Zhitian's soft baby hair. He felt the delicate touch on his fingertips, and his heart was filled with comfort.
Gu Ran looked at her daughter again, her eyes slightly red: "Husband, I feel like I'm dreaming. Now I have you, Ting'er, and Tian'er. It's so wonderful."
Lin Lang turned and kissed Gu Ran on the cheek: "Silly girl, you wouldn't be so reluctant to travel back to 2005 after meeting your son and daughter, would you?"
Gu Ran looked at her daughter, who was being held in Lin Lang's arms, and smiled as she winked at Xiao Zhitian.
"Honey, you're right. It was good that we didn't see them. Now that we've seen our son and daughter, if I could travel back to 2005, I would miss them terribly."
Lin Lang said indulgently, "Then let's stay in the present. Anyway, you'll stay young forever, so it doesn't matter if we skip a year."
Gu Ran squinted her eyes and smiled sweetly, "Okay, I'm not leaving anyway. I can't bear to leave my two little darlings."
Xiao Zhitian seemed to understand, her eyes lit up instantly, she waved her little arms even more enthusiastically, and made soft, sweet "ee-ya ee-ya" sounds. Her little body twisted and turned in Lin Lang's arms, eagerly reaching towards Gu Ran.
Lin Lang chuckled: "Tian'er is closer to her mother."
Gu Ran looked at her daughter with eyes full of love and said in a cheerful voice, "Honey, hold me for a while, I want to hold our daughter."
"Okay." Lin Lang carefully put his daughter back in the crib, then took his son from Gu Ran's arms and gently rocked him in his arms.
Looking at his son's chubby face and big, dark eyes staring at him, Lin Lang's heart almost melted.
The moment Gu Ran's fingertips touched Xiao Zhitian's soft swaddling clothes, her heart melted like cotton soaked in warm water, instantly becoming so soft it felt like it had no bones left.
The little one was lighter than she had imagined. Its warm little body pressed against her palm, as delicate as fine mutton fat jade. Even its breath carried a soft, milky scent, gently brushing against her wrist.
Gu Ran held her breath and lovingly pulled her daughter into her arms, her arms instinctively bending into the safest arc, afraid that she might hurt her daughter if she used too much force.
Xiao Zhitian seemed to feel the familiar body temperature, and gently rubbed her little head against Gu Ran's chest. Her long eyelashes trembled like butterfly wings, and her pink lips unconsciously pursed, uttering a series of indistinct "uh-ya" sounds.
The little guy is soft and warm to the touch, embodying the adorable cuteness of human babies.
Why are girls called "soft girls"? Because the feeling of holding them from a young age is always different.
Although Xiao Haoting and his sister are twins, because he is a boy, he feels noticeably "firmer" when held than his sister.
Although Gu Ran is a new mother, she has experience taking care of her older sister Gu Rou's children, so she is very skilled at holding babies.
The moment Gu Ran held her daughter in her arms, her eyes suddenly welled up with tears.
Overwhelmed by the happiness of having her wish fulfilled, Gu Ran felt a lump in her throat, and warm tears slid down her cheeks, dripping onto Xiao Zhitian's swaddling clothes and leaving a small wet patch.
She looked down at her daughter's fair and delicate face, at her eyebrows and eyes that were just like her own, at her little hands clenched into fists and her little feet kicking around, and suddenly felt that her life had a new meaning.
Gu Ran let her daughter lean against her chest, then moved closer to Lin Lang and her son, letting the two little ones snuggle up to each other on either side. Their small bodies were pressed together, creating a particularly heartwarming scene.
Xiao Haoting curiously turned his head to look at his younger sister, his little mouth moved, and he uttered a string of indistinct syllables.
Little Zhitian giggled, stretching out her chubby little hands and moving them around playfully, as if interacting with her brother.
Xiao Haoting kicked his little feet even more enthusiastically, accidentally kicking his sister's shin. The room was filled with the childish "ee-ee-ya-ya" sounds of the two siblings.
“Honey, look how well they’re having fun.” Gu Ran’s gaze lingered on her two children’s faces.
Lin Lang smiled and leaned down to kiss each of the two little ones on the cheek: "They are twins. They were together day and night in their mother's belly, so they must have a telepathic connection."
