Chapter 1233: A Lone Warrior Ventures into the Four Sea Gangs of Taiwan
Wang Xinling was both angry and heartbroken to see her younger brother's bruised and swollen face. She raised her hand and gently patted his head.
"You brat, can't you give me a break? You can get into trouble with the gang just by dating, are you stupid? Mom's about to be scared to death by you!"
Wang Renyou covered his head, pouting pitifully, "Sister, I really don't know..."
"That girl is my first love!"
“She usually seems so innocent, who would have thought that she was being kept by Yang Xiong, the boss of the Sihai Gang? Who can I complain to?” As he spoke, tears welled up in Wang Ren’s right eye again.
Lin Lang said in a deep voice, "Alright, let's not talk about this for now. I'll escort you away from the Drunken Dream Nightclub, and then we'll go to the third floor to settle accounts with that leader of the Four Seas Gang."
Upon hearing this, Wang Renyou turned pale and quickly grabbed Lin Lang's arm: "Brother-in-law, don't go! It's too dangerous! Yang Xiong is always accompanied by more than a dozen close henchmen."
"Besides, this nightclub is teeming with members of the Four Seas Gang, there must be at least dozens of them... How can you possibly take them all on by yourself?"
Lin Lang raised an eyebrow and smiled, then slapped his hand away: "You don't need to worry about that. Just take care of yourself."
Wang Renyou was taken aback by Lin Lang's nonchalant demeanor and could only manage a couple of awkward laughs, his heart pounding with anxiety.
Wang Xinling tugged at Lin Lang's sleeve, her eyes filled with worry.
"Honey, how about... we just let it go? Let's send our brother away first, and then stay away from him in the future. I'm really worried about you going to settle scores with the leader of the Four Seas Gang by yourself."
"Don't worry," Lin Lang said firmly, holding Wang Xinling's hand. "These are all small Kalami. But this matter must be settled, otherwise the Sihai Gang will keep bothering my brother-in-law, and then it will be even more troublesome."
Wang Xinling bit her lip, knowing that Lin Lang was right, and could only nod: "Honey, you must be careful!"
"There's no point in saying more. I'll escort you and your brother-in-law out first." Lin Lang gestured for the two to follow, while he walked in front to clear the way.
Pushing open the rusty iron door to the basement, a cacophony of noise mixed with the smells of smoke and alcohol instantly rushed in.
The hallway on the first floor was dimly lit, and deafening music pounded in the ears. Several burly men in black suits were leaning against the corridor smoking and chatting. When they saw the three people who suddenly came out of the basement, they immediately became alert.
"Stop! Where did you come from?" A thug with a buzz cut suddenly stood up, reaching for his waist where a bulge clearly concealed a weapon.
Without wasting any words, Lin Lang dashed forward in a flash.
The man with the buzz cut had just pulled out his baton when Lin Lang delivered a side kick to his chest, sending him flying like a kite with a broken string, crashing to the ground and spitting blood.
This completely ignited the fuse, and the other thugs who were smoking in the hallway grabbed their weapons and surrounded them.
Wang Xinling had never seen such a scene before and was so frightened that she screamed.
Despite his cowardice, Wang Renyou knew to step forward and protect his sister behind him, but his legs were shaking uncontrollably.
Lin Lang shielded Wang Xinling and Wang Renyou behind him, unleashing a flurry of punches with lightning speed.
He first dodged the steel pipe swinging from the left, then punched the opponent to the ground, knocking him down. He then swiftly swept two thugs down with a kick, and as he turned to the side, he slammed another thug's elbow into his chin, causing screams of agony to rise and fall.
Wang Xinling, supporting her limping younger brother, followed closely behind Lin Lang, watching him take down the thugs one by one like a tiger among sheep. She felt both shocked and afraid, yet inexplicably at ease.
Those gang members who seemed like menacing figures to her were utterly helpless in front of Lin Lang.
In less than a minute, all the thugs of the Four Seas Gang along the first floor were knocked to the ground by Lin Lang. They were all either injured or crippled, groaning and unable to get up.
"Let's go!" Lin Lang turned around and gestured, leading the two through the messy hall and straight to the nightclub entrance.
There were two thugs guarding the door who tried to stop him, but Lin Lang instantly teleported forward, grabbed one of their heads with each hand, and slammed both of his hands into their heads.
The two thugs from the Four Seas Gang collided heads with a loud thud. Afterward, they felt a blackout, their heads buzzing, and they fell to the ground, experiencing a dizzying sensation. They had suffered a concussion.
Only after stepping out of the nightclub and feeling the evening breeze on his face did Wang Renyou collapse onto the roadside, feeling weak all over, as if he had just been pulled out of the water, panting heavily.
Lin Lang looked at Wang Xinling, who was also trembling with nervousness, and instructed, "There are taxis on the roadside. Quickly take a taxi and bring your brother-in-law home to let your mother-in-law know he is safe. I'll go and deal with the leader of the Sihai Gang on the third floor."
Looking at the brightly lit and chaotic Drunken Dreams nightclub behind Lin Lang, Wang Xinling's eyes reddened, but she just nodded hard: "Husband, you must come back safely."
"Don't worry." Lin Lang ruffled her hair, then glanced at Wang Renyou, who was still in a daze. "Keep an eye on your sister." After saying that, he turned around and rushed back into the nightclub in a flash.
Wang Renyou watched Lin Lang's retreating figure and shouted, "Brother-in-law, be careful!"
Lin Lang didn't turn around to look at the Taiwanese teenager with delusions of grandeur. He just thought that although his brother-in-law was a bit stupid, he was a pretty good person.
As soon as Lin Lang stepped into the nightclub, he was enveloped again by deafening music and the pungent smell of smoke and alcohol.
Instead of rushing to the third floor, he took out his phone and dialed the number of Zhang Biao, the second-in-command of the Sihai Gang, as prompted by the system.
While waiting for the phone to connect, Lin Lang snapped his fingers, summoning an invisible clone that went to the nightclub's surveillance room and destroyed the hard drive storing the night's surveillance video.
The phone rang five times before being answered. A voice with a heavy Taiwanese accent came through the receiver, uttering an impatient tone: "Damn it! Who is it in the middle of the night? You're keeping me up at night!"
Lin Lang's voice was icy cold, devoid of any emotion: "I am your benefactor, so you'd better speak with some respect."
"My foot, a benefactor!" Zhang Biao's temper flared even more. "Who are you anyway? What do you want? Speak up or I'm dead!"
Lin Lang chuckled and got straight to the point: "Haven't you always wanted to be the leader of the Four Seas Gang? Now your chance has come."
There was a brief silence on the other end of the phone. Zhang Biao's tone changed noticeably, becoming wary and inquisitive.
"What do you mean? Who exactly are you? Could it be... that you want me to work with you from the inside to take down our boss?" Having been in the underworld for many years, he immediately guessed what was going on.
"No need," Lin Lang said decisively. "I can handle Yang Xiong on my own. But if you want to take over smoothly, you have to promise me one thing."
Zhang Biao's heart skipped a beat, and he tentatively asked, "What is it?"
"Today, your Sihai Gang arrested a college student named Wang Renyou," Lin Lang said calmly, "just because he was having an affair with the woman Yang Xiong was keeping."
"What I need you to promise me is that after you become the new leader of the Four Seas Gang, you must guarantee that no one in the Four Seas Gang will ever cause trouble for Wang Renyou again, and then this matter will be settled."
Zhang Biao was silent for a moment on the other end, then chuckled softly: "Ha, that's it?"
He figured that whether the call was real or fake, he wouldn't lose anything—if it worked, he could just sit back and reap the benefits.
If it doesn't work, you can't blame him.
After reading it aloud, Zhang Biao said with a smile, "Okay, no problem! As long as you have the ability to really handle our boss Yang Xiong, I won't just stop causing trouble for that kid. I'll even give you 20% of the profits from the Four Seas Gang's business."
"I don't care about the paltry profits of your Four Seas Gang's business. That's settled then." Lin Lang's lips curled into a cold smile. "Get ready to collect your boss's corpse."
After saying that, Lin Lang hung up the phone before Zhang Biao could ask any more questions.
At this moment, Zhang Biao was sitting on his bed at home, holding his phone, his brows furrowed.
"Brother Biao, what's wrong? Who called you in the middle of the night?" A heavily made-up woman hugged Zhang Biao from behind on the bed, her voice sweet and coquettish.
Zhang Biao stared at the unfamiliar mainland number on his phone screen for a few seconds, then suddenly stood up from the bed, grabbed his coat from the table, and said, "I'm going out for a bit. You go to sleep first."
"Brother Biao, has something happened in the gang?" the mistress pressed.
"Don't ask questions you shouldn't ask." Zhang Biao quickly put on his pants and walked out, making a phone call to a trusted confidant in the gang and giving him a few mysterious instructions.
After hanging up the phone, a ruthless glint flashed in Zhang Biao's eyes.
Regardless of who called from this unfamiliar number, this was his opportunity.
After Yang Xiong became addicted to drugs in recent years, his personality became unpredictable and increasingly arrogant. He no longer took him, the second-in-command, seriously.
If someone could remove this obstacle for him, Yang Xiong wouldn't mind going along with it, or even... lending a hand at the last minute.
