Chapter 11

But in Edwards case, I knew he couldn't touch me or Severus would be displeased, very displeased. I wasn't so sure about his father and from the way he was looking at me, I couldn't even force myself to relax.

"It seems I've caught you at the wrong time."

He tilted his head to a side and assessed me yet again before humming to himself. He looked away momentarily but when I made a move towards the cabinet his head snapped back to me.

"I would like to have a word with you."

I swallowed to moisten my dry mouth before nodding at him.

"Of course, just let me dre~"

"I'm afraid it cannot wait."

He interrupted me making me frown as he met my eyes. What could've been so important that he would come all the way here to talk to me about it? Alone at that? When his sons had left barely an hour ago?

"It's about Severus."

My head nodded on its own accord after hearing my husbands name, as I stepped back and pulled out a dress from the closet.

"I've been trained to not be naked in the presence of a man who's not my husband, so please excuse me."

His eyes narrowed in a glare as I stepped back into the washroom and locked the door behind myself.

Splashing water onto my face, I slapped my cheeks a few times. Get it together. Taking a deep breath, I quickly pulled on my dress before stepping out again.

"Sally must've told you that you must not go against my or my sons orders right?"

I nodded my head quickly, already knowing where he was going with this.

"Yet you chose to disobey."

Having the answer already memorized, I spoke up. My voice smaller than I would've pegged it to be. The man was just as scary as the first time he met me but now that I knew of what he had planned to do to me. I feared him even more and with Severus being somewhere else, I didn't know what to do.

"I followed the orders that Severus gave me Sir."

He nodded his head and motioned me to a couch with his hand. I cautiously strode towards it before seating myself down, near the edge in case I'd have to run.

"Now now, you don't have to be so frightened."

His deep voice was enough to push my brain towards the spiraling pit of fear. The air seemed to grow colder with every breath he took. The warmth being sucked out of the room that was supposed to be nice, cozy and warm. Leaving it a cold and unsafe mess.

"You must know by now, of the responsibilities you have as the Donna."

I nodded my head, and his lips thinned into a line as his expression grew dark.

"Then you're well aware of the blood shed that has been caused because of you?"

I stared at him with wide eyes at his implications, I don't think that anyone knew of me being here. Anyone who could help me at least, I myself didn't know if I was in my hometown or not.

"Seems as though Severus hasn't mentioned that to you yet has he?"

I shook my head, knowing exactly why Severus kept it from me. I would hate to ever have people throwing their lives on the line for me and I might've held him responsible or blamed him for it.

No, that was something I wouldn't do, Severus had promised to protect me no matter what the cost and if for the sake of that promise he'd have to make sacrifices, then I knew that he gladly would.

"My men have told me of your tour around the mansion, anything to your liking?"

I shuddered at the reminder as his eyes glinted darkly, he knew exactly what I had seen and seemed to enjoy my misery as I desperately tried to wipe the images from my head. Silence fell over us, I took the opportunity to examine if anything in the room had changed. Nothing looked out of place.

The same off white walls stood, caging me into a space that was no longer welcoming. His eyes stayed glued to me as I did my best to avoid his gaze. The door wasn't locked and I felt a tiny flicker of relief inside of me but it vanished as soon as my eyes caught his.

"You're truly a sight for sour eyes."

I stiffened and stared at him in shock, I hadn't expected a statement-compliment- to ever sound so threatening.

"Thank you."

I lowered my eyes to the floor and twiddled with my fingers, if I didn't talk he would leave, right? Wrong. He sat there in silence for a moment longer before standing up abruptly. I stood up as well, to be polite and follow him the door.

But I was knocked back down as he appeared before me, standing at least a head taller than me. He looked even more deadly up close.

I tried to back up but ended up flopping down on the couch. His hand reached out and brushed away a strand of my hair, the coldness of his skin making me flinch. I heard him chuckle as he grabbed my chin and raised it so our eyes would meet.

"You would've been my master piece."

I stared at him with wide eyes, barely able to draw in a breath as I pictured myself embedded into that wall.

"I might've just kept you."

I shook in fear as he smirked sadistically. The panic probably clear on my face as my vision blurred through tears.

"Hush now, You aren't out of my reach just yet."

Frozen yet trembling, silent yet screaming, hoping yet giving up.

I was doing all of the above, ignoring the way his gaze remained glued to my lips. Ignoring the tightening of his hand around my jaw and trying to keep myself sane.

Hot minty breath fanned over my face as he started leaning in, my hands immediately shot out to put a distance between us, but I landed flat on my back, my hands pinned above me as I fought inside to scream.

"Severus didn't let you fulfill your purpose, but now that he's not he~"

I struggled to pull my hands out of his, avoid what he was trying to do , or at least manage to kick him off, but his hand kept both of mine bound and his legs pressured me onto my back. I couldn't fight him off, the size and strength difference was too great.

I was powerless, no matter how much I struggled or parted my lips to scream, I simply couldn't get myself to respond. Feeling utterly numb inside, imagining myself and that wall, over and over again. Hearing my own voice blaring in my head, screaming for help as loud as it could, but my lips remained sealed.

He looked amused by my efforts, that were having no effect at him at all. But he grew tired of watching me struggle and lowered his head to my neck, licking a line up to my ear as I thrashed beneath him.

"Father!"

At that moment Edward burst through the door, stilling as he spotted us. Clearly not having imagined the position he found me in. A glare formed on his face as he pulled his father off of me and led him out.

I breathed through my lips, unable to contemplate what could've happened. The faint voices from outside, voices that seemed to be shouting, greeted my ears.

"Do you know what you were about to do father? Severus would've had you executed!"

The reply was instant and its accuracy chilled me.

"What makes you think she would've even mentioned it to him? The only reason they're connected is because I had her brought here! She would've only completed her purpose had you not interrupted, besides, what makes you think that he would be able to take such a drastic measure?!"

I curled in on myself settling for crying silently, my purpose wasn't the same anymore. I was married, I was Severus's wife, He had no right over me, hence I didn't owe anything to him!

"You're forgetting father, More than half of the members have taken oath on his hand. He's already taken over, you don't hold authority over him and the people, whether under the oath or not. Will not disobey him if they heard of what you were just about to do."

After that everything fell silent, no sound greeted me as I locked myself in the room. Staying there for the days that followed, Severus had gone away to renew a treaty on the day of the incident, and he was probably unaware of whatever was happening or happened back here.

The man responsible for bringing in supplies knocked on my door several times and was even about to knock it down, had I not responded and sent him away. I felt so alone and weak, Edward had tried to get me to open the door but he didn't succeed either and he stopped persisting soon after. Luckily understanding that the one I wanted to see right now wasn't here.
