Chapter 26

"You can't speak? And you act as though you've got some balls."

He didn't know what he was thinking by saying that. What if the bird was able to speak, would he be bold enough to say a thing. He wasn't so sure about that.

Well, if the bird did speak, he might take it as some sign since it had flew past the Ninus'tomb. Probably its beaks had a been touched by the wandering spirit or something. That seemed to make sense to him though but twasnt all twas. Few minutes later would tell what would be. He wasn't even actually sane in the first place.

"Bitch! I know you're clueless and powerless. You only feign to be what you are not. You should possibly think of doing something else and stop stalking. Its super creepy."

He quit speaking. The bird was still there. He was hungry. He could feel it deep down in his stomach tearing up his intestines. He felt really down and looked up the tree.

He wanted to stand up and look at the top of the oak tree but he was skeptical. If he tried to turn his back on the Raven, it could perch on him in an ambush and sink its claws into his back. That would be super aggressive.

He couldn't take that risk and thought of the best thing to do. He looked up the tree as he sat. He could see few acorns. He wanted to stand and pluck but he was afraid. He knew that he wouldn't continue to be like that.

The bird still had its eyes on him. If he wasn't used to it, he might had freaked out and took it as some betwiched creature. But to him, it seemed as though there was more to the bed. Like it was representing some other creatures. He couldn't too sure though but he knew that what he was saying was right. He needed no soothsayer to say that to say.

"Hey, bitch, get going!"

He shouted again at the bird. That was the only way he could had been able to sweep his rage into a whole. If he hadn't done that he was sure that there was no other things that he would possibly had done.

He was waiting for he effect the speech would have on the bird. He was hoping dearly that twould be a great one. He couldn't help but hope.

Then the bird left where twas. He flew away from where it was and across the path to where he was. It perched on the oak tree he was sitting under. He stood up immediately. He didn't know what the mischievous bird was up to. He wouldn't be taken unawares.

He walked away from the base of the tree to be able to have a full view of the tree and what might come down or out of it. If the bird who charge at him at that moment he would be ready.

He held the rod as though he was going to kill a leopard. He was very scared. Not of being perched on by the bird or being be pecked. But of his eyes. What if the bird perched on his face and suck out his eyes. He would be doomed. He wouldn't be able to have sex anymore. He would be able to but he would be blind to stimulate his pleasure with his sight. That was somewhat creepy and nauseating to him.

"Come for it, bitch. Let's see what you've got. If you're really up for this, come for it."

He said. He knew that he didn't mean what he was saying he was only being crazy. Like trying to look crazy and not afraid of the bird. He knew that that was quite far from him.

He had learnt that even if you don't know what to do about quite the numbers of things, just ignore. Then act as though you've got it under control. Try acting as though you're the best and have an idea of prolly everything. Forget it, you would be respected. But hope you're not dealing with a pyschopath that wants proof. You'd be skinned live.

An acorn dropped from the top of the tree, then another one, then another, then another, then another. He looked up to see what was happening. He had never taken his eyes off it in the first place.

Then immediately, he saw the bird flew past him again with an acorn in between its two claws and went to perch on the usual tree.

He turned to look at her to be sure that he wasn't making only weak hypotheses. He wanted to be sure that he knew what he was doing and was thinking.

He moved towards the base of the tree and rested his back on the stem. He wanted to understand what just happened few moments ago.

Did the bird just saved him and gave him free fruits or was it just some coincidence?

If the bird had really done that, why had it? Had it done it to figure things out or just to help him?

He didn't know what to trust or who to trust anymore. He was being made pawn of over and over again. By the Nymph, his brothers and all. How would he do well to trust again?

After several contemplation, he decided to sit again. He picked one of the acorns. He wanted to take a bite but he was skeptical too. He didn't want to eat from it. How about if it had been poisoned.

He dropped it. Then it occured to him that whether or not he ate he would die. If he ate it poisoned, he would die. If didn't eat it, he would starve to death. What was the point then.

He picked it up again and took a bite. He chewed and chewed. He loved how it tasted. He had never thought that twas with such flavor and was that sapid.

"Stand up."

He heard a voice. The voice came from behind him. He was having his back to the base of the tree. He looked beyond. The bird was still there. It could never be the bird.

He stood and turned to face the tree. Had the tree spoken to him? There was no one behind the tree. He had checked.

He wouldn't believe. How possible would it be for a tree to speak? How possible?
