Eleven- Something about yummy and cupcakes
Nathaniel kept a hand on his waist as he almost confusedly watched her crawl out from under his bed. “And what on earth are you doing under my bed?” He finally asked once she was standing.
“She gets weirder everyday,” Amir mumbled loudly earning himself a glare from his friend.
“Well, I thought you were the one coming into this place with a woman. I definitely won’t want to watch you going down on a woman,” Chloe kept her arms folded as she talked, her shoulders occasionally shrugging.
“But you were listening anyway,” Amir muttered again and the half naked Lucille beside him nodded in agreement causing Chloe to almost sneer at her.
“There was actually nowhere else close by to hide,” Chloe continued after her glare left Lucille.
“It is okay Chloe. I don’t have any issue with you but I have with this man-whore on my bed.”
Amir immediately got up. “Who the heck are you calling a whore? Look pretty boy, don’t-”
“Don’t what?” Nathaniel squared his stance and glared back at the seething man in front of him who had posed like he was ready to fight his last battle. “Don’t what Amir? Let me remind you man, I don’t care if you sleep with everyone in this world, heck get an alien fuck buddy if it suits your taste. Just never involve me or my things in your lifestyle.”
“Look man,” his seething had been killed and Amir was looking so sober, you would think he was about to confess his last crime. “I… I am sorry okay? We weren’t thinking at all. We just entered anywhere. You know how these things happen.”
Nathaniel gave a sarcastic looking smile. “No, I don’t.”
“I am sorry okay?” Chloe was amused by their display of understanding.
“Y-yes, we are sorry,” Lucille butted in, Chloe just had to roll her eyes.
“Aren’t you supposed to be working, Lucille?”
“I…I…”
Nathaniel cut her short. “If I decide to fire you right now, I won’t be wrong you know?”
Lucille gulped as everyone’s eyes stayed on her. “I am sorry.”
“Repeat it and you are out. And Amir, keep your pants open outside this house. Now, out of my room.” Chloe was impressed at how authoritative he was without even trying. It was what she always found attractive about him anyway.
“I am sorry you had to hear the both of them that way,” he said as he moved closer towards where she was. Her eyes which were leveled with his neck found themselves tracing up to his lips which looked so…
“Yummy.”
“Uh?” Chloe gasped as she realized she had spoken out.
Her hands refuting what he had just said with a furious wave, she said, “I meant, it is fine. It was nothing grand. I watch porn and it is way crazier…” she looked his way and saw he had his brows questioning her amusedly. “I should keep quiet now.”
He gave a low chuckle, her inside flipped at the deep rhythmic sound. “Amir is right, you are weird.”
Her teeth gritted as she thought of what to say, her legs kept stretching too. “I guess I am.”
“Uh… could you…” his finger pointed towards the entrance. “Could you step outside for a minute, I need to do something. I will call you in when I am done.”
“Of course.” She took the cleaning materials as her eyes eyed the envelope. When she got to the entrance, she turned abruptly. “Nathaniel?”
“Yeah?”
“Why did you ignore me earlier?” Chloe knew she would eventually want to ask.
“You noticed that,” he said as he scratched the back of his head. “I thought you were going to mention the kiss.”
“Mention?” She scoffed. “I wasn’t going to say anything about it until you did. That was my plan.”
“That… that is a nice plan.” He nodded at her and she replied with a smile. “I just didn’t want to make things weird.”
“Kissing me was weird, but…” she shrugged before continuing. “It really doesn’t matter if you were really trying to get away from that loud guy from the party.”
“Chloe…” He made a short tut then a whoosh sound with his mouth as he appeared to be thinking of what to say. “Yes, it was like a distraction. So, thank you for not making it weird.”
Something inside her was disappointed. Chloe immediately scolded whatever it was. If she was going to have any dating life, it wouldn’t be with the man she was spying on. “You are welcome. I will wait outside.” Nathaniel threw her a dashing smile.
“He kissed you?”
“Oh my God, Gabriel.” She was actually startled.
“I overheard your conversation with Princess over there.”
Chloe smiled at the nickname. “Why are you calling him Princess?” She also avoided his sudden question.
“Well, Nathaniel acts a bit princess-y with ladies he likes.”
“Ohh.”
“So, he kissed you?”
“Why are you so interested?”
“Answer the question, Cupcake.”
“Yes he did. Why are calling me Cupcake?” she chuckled as she tried to keep a distance between them.
“Because you are so sweet. But you are like those cupcakes with mean writings on them, but they end up tasting good.” Gabriel reached for her right cheek and pulled gently.
“You are acting weird Gabriel.” Chloe was actually smiling at this weirdness of his.
“You guys seem pretty close.” Nathaniel leaned against the frame of his door.
“Hey dude we did not see you there.”
His eyes kept watching as though he was trying to fish out a secret hidden between the almost sandwiched duo in front of him. “I just came out. Chloe, you can go in now.”
“Uh sure.”
“We need to talk.” She heard Nathaniel say to Gabriel as she entered. On closing the door, she headed for the closet. The envelope was still there and after she had carefully taken note of the initial position of the package, she took it out and reached for it insides.
All that was inside was a flash drive and since it had an inlet for her phone, she hurriedly connected it.
With her heart pounding a bit, she waited for the only document on the drive to load. When it did, all it read was- LSB 2034 TWENTY MILLION POUNDS.
She clearly had to notify Connor of her discovery and without much ado, she copied the file and returned the envelope just where she had found it.
