Twenty-six - Something always goes wrong
Chloe took one more look at the image of the person she was about to approach. She really hoped he would at least be looking decent and not possessing a hair decorated with chips.
And she really hoped she won't have to see him eat, he didn't look like he had that much eating manners.
"Are you okay?" Amir asked Chloe, following his question with a whoosh-like sound.
"Yes." She turned fully. "I should be asking you that question. You haven't stopped tapping your feet against the ground since we entered the van."
"I am just so nervous. Aren't you?" A finger went up to wipe a line of sweat that broke down from his forehead.
"I am a bit nervous too. I just hope nothing goes wrong."
He gave a sharp exhale, his tapping intensifying. "I hope so too. Take care out there, will you?" Chloe nodded and faced Sebastian who was ensuring for the umpteenth time that nothing was wrong with his setup.
"Goodluck Chloe. We will make sure nothing happens to you. Thank you for agreeing to do this."
"Oh," she waved off his statement. ",it is nothing." She got up and let out a deep breath. "Well gentlemen, here goes nothing." Amir nodded and let out another nervous breath.
Chloe, when she got outside of the lighted club, stopped to take a quick look around. There were a lot of cars that night which meant a flooded club. And the perfect crowd to drug a lady.
"Chloe, can you hear me?" Sebastian kicked her out of her little surveying.
"Loud and clear."
"Good. Your target is still alone so it is best you move now before someone else gets to him."
She began to move, strategically flowing her body in a seductive manner. Her hair likewise, which she had taken the liberty to let down swung in unison.
"God have mercy..." She heard Amir breathe into the microphone.
When she got to the entrance, her head turned in the direction of the surveillance camera and she gave the gentlemen watching her her seductive smile.
Low lights welcomed her as she walked into the club. And two bouncers too. Then came the flashing lights accompained by sudden silence. But it didn't hold for long.
The DJ sent a particular tune into the whole space that caused a loud shout of approval from the fun seekers. Then the place got a different kind of liveliness. Even Chloe got tempted to join.
Soon, her eyes started to roam for her target in the crowd.
"He is a little further from your right." Sebastian saved her the trouble. "He is seated on one of the couches in the corner. But he is with a woman already."
"Well," she resumed her walk. "I deserve a thank you from her because I am about to save her." She activated her seductiveness as she moved closer to him. The lady with him was already pouring him a drink as she lustfully eyed him. It was obvious she was willing to fuck anyone that night.
"Eh-ehm," she cleared her throat and wore a smile after.
"Can we help you?" The burnette whose thick red lipstick stood out definitely did not like the interruption.
"No," Chloe's eyes went to the man with the ginger-red coloured hair whose eyes stayed bulged since she walked to them. "But you can." She threw her target a smile before she walked to the lady, grabbed her gently on the arm and helped her up.
"What are you doing?" Chloe pulled her away from the couch and went to stand in her former position.
"I am taking over darling."
"B-but..."
"I am sure there are more men out there, "Chloe said as she saw Amir blend in with the crowd. The lady angrily stumped her heel on the floor before walking away. Still wearing a smile, she faced the man beside her.
He was actually looking well groomed, dressed in a shirt and all. "Isn't it good that I got rid of her?"
"You are much better price for the night."
She leaned in a little more closer. "I know." Her hand went to the glass in his hand and she raised it to his lips. "You should pour me a drink..." she suggested with a softened voice.
"Yeah, I should." With her side eyes, she watched him reach for the bottle on a stool next to him. As he poured her drink, he said, "I like your sandals, they wouldn't look better on anyone else."
She looked down with a smile and looked at the silver sandals that she adored a lot. "I like them too."
"Chloe, he just put something in your drink, be careful." Sebastian said from the other end.
Smiling, she collected the wine glass from his hand. "Thanks."
He moved closer and traced his kuckles down her face as he watched her with interest. "This is the first time I will be seeing you here. Or have I been blind to this beauty all along?"
"I just moved to this part of the city."
"Good choice. Drink up." He urged her.
Chloe instantly became conflicted. She could drink it and something worse than going unconsious could happen. She knew she had to create a distraction so she could get rid of the liquid. Gently, she pulled the glass to her lip and under his unfailing gaze, she managed to fool him into thinking she had a little sip.
"Do you want something stronger?"
"This is just fine. I just... you are staring so much it has made it uncomfortable to drink."
"Oh, my bad. I will look the other way."
She chuckled as she brought the glass to her lip. Within a split second where he turned, she got rid of the drink and pretended to down the empty glass.
After, she let out a satisfied sound and he turned back. "It such a tasty wine."
"It is the best."
"I..." Chloe paused to make it seem like the substance was taking effect. "I sure loved it. Please pour..." She shook her head, her target watched her with keen eyes.
"You said?"
"I want another glass of..." she drew her breath and began to blink strongly. "I am so sorry. I suddenly feel... I feel... slee... py..." She ended her drama with a loud yawn that led her to fall into a pretence slumber.
She could feel him move closer. His knuckles went over her face and he said, "Yes, yes pretty. Go to sleep, you have a huge task ahead." Without much ado, he proceeded to carry her bridal style.
"You are doing a good job Chloe," Sebastian whispered.
The man had only taken few steps when a loud feminine scream came from the crowd. Suddenly everywhere went silent.
"Nobody should move." Chloe could hear troubled murmurings. "Nobody moves!" The voice strongly commanded. "Everyone, get down. Everyone!" Slowly, Chloe was put on the cold floor. That gave her a chance to slightly open her eyes to see what was happening.
"Oh Lord. Something just always goes wrong," Sebastian said.
A tall man dressed like he was in a difficult stage in life was in the middle of the room, holding something in his hand as he watched everyone comply to his command. "Now, anyone who moves will put not only him, but everyone in danger." He glared at the confused crowd. "Did somebody ask why? I will tell you why." He looked really deranged to Chloe.
"This entire place has been decorated with bombs. A single movement and boom! We are all gone," a crazy laughter followed.
