Twenty-eight - I wannabe a badboy game
Chloe watched as Sebastian splashed a bucket of water onto the face of the firmly tied man in front of them. Then a slap followed, dragging the man who had tried to drug her out of his deep slumber.
"Welcome back," Sebastian said to the confused man.
"Wh-"
"Save your breath. It is not yet time to talk." Sebastian patted his wet cheek hard before walking towards the trio who stood from a distance in silence.
"What now?" Amir asked, looking in the direction of the man with anger.
"We need to leave him in suspense for a while."
"Do we have that kind of time? He needs to pay for what he has done and what he tried to do to Chloe. He could have overdosed her." Amir was finding it hard to keep calm just like it was when he found his way downstairs after the bomb had been taken care of.
Sebastian restrained him with his palm to his chest. "And he will," he said. "But you need to calm down first before we can ask him questions. After we have our answers, he will pay."
Chloe hoped it wouldn't be in a gruesome way that he would be dealt with. That would just sort of confirm the charges against them. As she turned to walk to the window side, she noticed Nathaniel's eyes watching her.
She had not spoken a word to him since the time he saved her. She didn't want those little stirs she had successfully managed to put aside coming back again. She had a feeling he was going to act in a way that would make that happen.
Her head straightened and she walked towards where she intended.
She had no idea what she why she decided to go to the window side, but she didn't leave. Her eyes went on to watch the night which had been rendered quiet due to the craziness that went down at the club.
"Chloe?" Her breath hitched for a second.
She turned. "Yeah?"
"How are you doing?" he asked after his eyes roamed her body for a few seconds with his lower lip sucked in.
"I am good."
"Hmm."
"Do you need something?" she asked him with her eyes narrowed.
"I uh..."
"If you don't, please excuse me." She made to walk back into the room but a firm grip on her wrist stopped her. Chloe looked his way and he held her gaze. "Can you please let me go?"
"Thank you."
She frowned. "What for?"
"For taking this risk for Amir."
"Well," she managed a sarcastic smile. ",unlike you, he is a consistent friend."
His tongue clicked. "I have been a douche, haven't I?"
Chloe sighed. He was about to find his way back. She wasn't going to allow that. She would try her best. "Honestly, you don't know how to be one. You were trying too hard to sound like a badboy and no, it doesn't suit you."
"Uh..."
"You know what," her eyes went to his hold on her wrist before she continued. "If you were so determined to push me away after drawing me close, you could have at least told me to my face."
Silence ensued for a second. Then his deep chuckle followed. Chloe's head tilted in wonder of what was so amusing to him. She didn't wonder for long.
"Chloe..." he started, his hand still wrapped around her wrist. "You have no idea, do you?" Her brows quirked. "You are a dangerous woman, Chloe." Her eyes narrowed at his sentence. "What I did lately made me realize that even if I decide to push you a thousand miles away, I can't get you out of my freaking mind."
Chloe shook her head. The stir was rising a bit, she didn't want it to.
"You... every side to you I have seen so far..." His eyes roamed her body as he talked. "Everything makes me want more." Then he smirked. "Especially that fiesty side you have that comes out rarely. That side makes me want to grab you on the spot, kiss you hard then take you to my bed and do things to you."
"Stop it," she whispered, her eyes going shut.
Nathaniel moved a bit closer so his voice came out low and a bit heavier with a kind of intent within. "You make me want to want more of you Chloe. And I have decided that I do want more of you."
Her eyes opened directly to his.
"I want more dates. I want more of your smiles and also that sexy sassiness of yours. I want to be the man in your life."
Chloe could feel herself crashing with emotions. Emotions she never knew she had combined with those she was aware of and weighed her. But she didn't want all that. Not anymore. She had a little taste earlier and she became so unsure of her ability to cope.
Sighing at the extent to which his words just affected her, she finally said, "I am sorry Nathaniel. I-"
"I am not asking you if you want all of that to happen. I am telling you. Chloe..." He grabbed her other hand. "I need you to brace yourself."
"What for?" she asked with wary.
"I am going to continue what I have started. But this time..." A hand of his came up to her face and he trailed it's side softly with his knuckles. Chloe felt a little woozy inside. "This time Chloe, I will do things right." His eyes smiled.
"Why are you doing this to me?" she asked with a whisper.
"Because I want you and I must have you." He crushed her recently built wall totally with that statement and his soft, low determined voice.
"That is if I let you." She had to be strong.
"Oh," he leaned in a bit. "We'll see about that." Then her kissed her. It was a short one. But it was enough to have Chloe circling thoughts in her head.
"Guys..." Sebastian called. "It's time."
"Do you even care about me Nathaniel?" she asked, stopping him from taking one more step. "Or is this part of your I wannabe a bad boy game?"
He turned his head slightly in her direction and said, "A lot more than you think." That was it for Chloe. The stir, the feelings were officially back and this time with a huge wave.
