Chapter 10 LOA 10

Elijah had gotten home in the evening and met his fiancée sitting on the bed, looking disheveled and her face swollen like she had been crying for hours, she smiled painfully and patted the bed for him to sit. He sat down. She looked elsewhere in the room.

“I’m sorry Elijah” she stated, he didn’t say anything and she was okay with it. She told him not to say anything while she’s talking.

“Ermmmm!!” Adrianna stuttered

“I hmm” she sighed “I cheated,” she said, blinking her eyes profusely.

Elijah was shocked. It was as if she dropped a bomb on his head, he thought he heard his heart cracked, she looked at him and forced a smile.

“You’re too good for me Eli, “ she cried

“I do not deserve your love, but I’m going to say I’m to be blamed, it’s my body and I should have had control over it, over my sex urges but I couldn’t because I didn’t know I was kind of a sex addict”

Elijah was confused and so he spoke “I don’t get, what are you talking about”

Adrianna clasped her palms together and unclasped it, repeating the process over and over again, she cleaned her face and took a deep breath.

“I couldn’t control myself and I thought if other women did it I could do it without getting caught or without you knowing but I was wrong, I forgot that what would work for you might not work for me, I tried not to see him but he threatened he was going to let you know, he sent some pictures though I shredded it, I wasn’t stressed when I saw him, I was just shocked to see him in the house and that’s why the bag fell out of my hand, Mustapha is the guy I cheated on you with, he has been here after his first time, after we got back from Oklahoma and, She stuttered… He touched me while I was sleeping, I’ve tried telling him off but he wouldn’t budge nor listen”

She finished her explanation, it was a scattered explanation but she didn’t care less.

Elijah was more than shocked to know she was a sex addict and she didn’t tell him and Mustapha had slept with his wife to be, his head was banging. Just then her phone beeped, it was another message from Mustapha, furiously he dialed the number on her phone.

“Let’s meet over a cup of coffee” he bellowed angrily and told him the location.

He went out of the house angrily, Adrianna didn’t bother to follow him, she was tired of crying and so she went into the closet with her suitcase to pack her clothes in case she has the need to leave.

Elijah got to the coffee shop and waited three hours long, Mustapha didn’t show up, he didn’t have the balls to, he didn’t know time had gone this fast and so he left and went back home, he took some vodka and went to his office room, closing the door behind him.

Adrianna was done arranging when she started hearing noises and curse words, she was too scared to go in but stood up anyway, bursting into the office room, there were broken bottles on the floor. Her heart sank, she walked to his side and hug from behind, his heart was broken, he couldn’t look at her, he removed her hand from his waist.

“Leave me alone” his tone was filled with all seriousness, no amount of apology could save her.

Did he ever released his sperm inside of you” he asked “don’t lie to me”

“No” she replied sternly.

“You can leave now” she took a long glance at his back until she felt tears blocking her visions then she left. Elijah couldn’t bear the thought of her leaving, his heart broke the more he heard her whimpering.

He couldn’t think straight, he poured himself another cup of vodka. It was going to be a long night for him.

Adrianna was back in the room, she sat with her back resting on the closed door, her knees raised up while her head was resting on her knees.

She has lost it all, all because of a sexual fling. Since the next day was Monday and she has the address to Mustapha’s she had to go and see him.

Its high time they straightened things out and go their separate ways, whether he likes it or not. But first, she needs to send him a text, where had she dropped her phone? She bit her lower lip until she felt the taste of blood in her mouth.

She checked the bed and under the pillow, the dresser table but her phone wasn’t on any of them. Adrianna went into her closet room and found her phone on the dresser table.

She read what she had typed

“We need to talk, I’d be at your house by 11 am, I’m coming alone Bastard” then she presses “send”.

Adrianna still thought of calling so he had known the extent of which he had ruined her. So she dialed his number and he picked at the vibration of the phone before the ringtone sound.

“Did you get my text?” she asked in a serious tone.

“Yes, I did, play no fucking game! He spoke loud enough that if there was somebody with hearing, the person will hear

If you come along with that son of a bitch, I won’t mind gunning him down, trust me” he warned “I’m a man of my words”

“Okay bastard!!” and she hung up.

The thought of calling Dr. Raymond slipped through her mind, she checked her time and realized that the time had really gone, it was close to 12midnight, she debated on whether she should call or not, after some minutes of thinking, Adrianna reached for her bag at the other side of the bed and took out a small business card, she copied the number on it into her phone and called it.

The receiver picked on the third ring, although she had tried to ignore it she answered it anywait

“Hello,” the receiver said sleepily.

“It’s me, Adrianna, I’m sorry for calling at this late hour,” she told her, rubbing her tired face.

At the sound of her name, Dr. Raymond jerked up from her bed feeling concerned already.

“What is the problem?” she looked to her side and saw her husband tossing, standing up, she left the room and went downstairs to the dining room.

“I told him already, he was so furious, he wouldn’t talk to me, he went out of the house angrily” her voice broke “he got back after some hours and when I went to him, he told me to leave” she was crying softly.

Dr. Raymond heave a sigh, she felt pity for her, taking a deep breathe she spoke

“Adrianna, I want you to know that men are different, he was angry but he didn’t hit you, he left the house, he got back and still you went to him, he didn’t say anything hurtful to add to your problems. Now imagine if it was your ex or another man, he could have hit you, it takes time for the mind to process things like this, we all have our ways of dealing with stuff,” she paused

“Now I’m gonna ask you, Adrianna, what would you do if you were the one, put yourself in his shoe” Adrianna, who’s still full of tears didn’t know how to answer the question.

“I don’t know Hannah”, I swear I don’t know!!” Dr. Raymond begged her to stop crying and told her she would be fine.

“What you need right now is sleep, take a shower, drink some water and you will feel better by morning, then call me, we’d talk more, I’m sorry you have to go through these pains. Goodnight”

“Goodnight” she replied and dropped the call.

By now, Adrianna already figured Elijah won’t be sleeping in the room. She covered herself with a blanket and plug the charger to her phone.

She couldn’t sleep, she kept on tossing on the bed till she finally stood up to go to the kitchen to fix herself a glass of milk, she passed through Elijah who sat in the living room, he didn’t even acknowledge her presence.

He was feeling hurt, she knows, Adrianna quickly drank the milk and left the kitchen, she stood on the first staircase and took a long look at Elijah and went to the room.
