20. He belonged to me.
Sofia.
I hate the new nanny.
I've gone too far to have that bitch from nowhere to ruin it all for me and that's why I needed to keep sabotaging her just as I have been sabotaging a lot of them, especially the ones who seemed to have their eyes on the alpha.
I didn't spend years in this pack tutoring some spoilt and arrogant kids despite having an MBA just to get sidelined like this. When I first saw Elena, she looked quite young, naive and dumb enough to be manipulated and pushed around. It looked like she won't be able to last very long in the pack anyways, non of the nannies ever did because they never got along with the kids. Never.
She had only spent two days in the pack and she already had Diego wrapped around her fingers, and the fact that the alpha himself kept overlooking a lot of things from and about her was even more enraging. I mean, did that girl just dare to go in private to speak to the Alpha and did the alpha really just allowed her to manipulate him so easily like that?
Why did his dangerous aura always seem to dissappear when it comes to this girl? Why was she being given so many chances that a lot of wolves would have lost a limb for?
Where was she even hired from? She seem to have been found on the streets somewhere, so why is she being trusted with the kids so easily?
What is this tension that seems to hang in the air between she and the Alpha? What is going on?
I had so many questions but one thing was certain, and it was sthe fact that I definitely hate Elena and that she had to go.
Watching her spoon-feed Diego while they joked around was nothing short of aggravating and irritating for me. The way the whole pack looked at them both like she was some sort of hero got on my nerves.
I had gone into that little devil's room just before she did and it wasn't the same outcome for me.
"Diego, you have to come down and eat. You can't decide not to eat all because your daddy banned you from the games. You need to know that it's all for your own good and that's all he's doing. Not eating is not going to lift that bam, Diego so stop being a baby about it and come eat!" I had said sternly to him as soon as I was in his room.
"Get out, Ms. Sofia, I do not want to see you!" He yelled as he threw a pillow my way.
I had stormed out of the room with an eyeroll qhile.keeping it at the back of my mind that they would all end up in a boarding school when I get married to the Alpha and become the new Luna of the pack.
That was my goal and no kids nor nanny would ever hinder me in any way from this. Not now, not ever. I love Deangelo too much to let him go, he belonged to me and me alone.
When the eyesore of feeding Diego was done and I noticed the alpha returing to his study, I immediately followed suite, determined to speak some sense into him.
I knocked on the door and after confirming who it was, he asked me in.
"Yes, Sofia? Is anything the matter?" He asked as he relaxed on his chair. He sat there, his suit jacket hanging on the chair behind him, his tie loosened, his shirt sleeves rolled up to his elbows and his fingers tented in front of him. A look of total boredom set on his perfect little face. His eyes were boring into mine, but he said nothing.
"Uhm... not really. I would just like to speak about the issue of allowing Diego play arcade games, alpha. I would like like let you know of my opinion about that." He looked up at me, not responding, his blue eyes piercing my brave front. This would be a lot easier if he wasn’t so beautiful.
He had a face that any male model would kill for and the most incredible hair I’ve ever seen on a man. Sex hair. That’s what some of the girls in the pack called it, even one of the nannies was bold enough to tell that to myself about how much she fancied him and how he had been the muse of her wet dreams and imaginations.
Well, it didn't take too long for me to find a way to get rid of her. She was a disaster waiting to happen afterall.
Broad shoulders, tall. Total dreamboat. I let myself look, staring at his arms, the fabric of his shirt waa clinging to them and his chest in a way that told me that I was going to like what is underneath it. His face is an odd mixture of angles that come together in just the right way to make him fit for one of those way-too-sexy perfume ads.
Damn. Get it together, Sofia!
"I think giving Diego the permission to play those arcade games weekly is very bad. So bad. It's not even advisable at all, it's very detrimental to his health and personality and an addiction and stem from this. I think focusing on educating games, musics, videos and books is mor eof what is needed at this young stage of his life. I do not think you should have allowed Elena influenced your decision that easily. In fact, now, I'm sure he thinks all he has to do is go on hunger strike when ever you stop him from doing anything and you'll change your mind." I said as coherently and professionally as possible.
He stood off his chair and began to walk away from his desk, I could just imagine him tipping me back and kissing me. Moving from my lips down to my— holy shit, he looked at me. I'm too far away to see what his eyes held, but they were dark, and they were for sure looking right at me. That little mental fantasy in me took on a new element as I imagined his approach across the room towards me.
However,, that was just a wishful thought as he instead went to the entrance of the doorway of his own study across the room from me, looking as gorgeous, dangerous and arrogant as usual. He was about 6’2”, and had a body like a marble sculpture. I had made the mistake of visiting the home gym one morning on the first month we worked together, and I had walked in to find him sweaty and shirtless next to the treadmill.
That image was forever burned into my brain.
"Look, Sofia..." He started in his deep voice, "I personally think that Elena was right. We can't keep stopping him from doing somethings of interest all because we think he might get addicted and this is why I made sure that he only gets to do this once in a week as opposed to twice that was proposed. If you ask me, that's a good deal. As much as I want to raise brilliant and smart kids, I still belive that he's still a kid nonetheless and should be allowed the freedom to choose his own interest instead of forcing new ones upon him." He said and I resisted the urge to roll my eyes.
"But it's addi--" I started to say only to be cut off, "Sofumia, I'm sure he'll be fine. Let's at least see what happens first,
shouldn't we give that chance? Just do your own job as their tutor and it'll all be fine. Will that be all now?" He asked dismissively.
It was almost as if he couldn't wait for me to be out of his presence and it was unnerving, so I simply nodded before eating my leave.
As soon as I was outside, I stormed my feet like a child deprived of candy, and I made up my mind that this new nanny had to go.
Someway, somehow.
