47. Allergic to cinnamon.
Sofia.
I went to check on Deangelo and he was not in his room, only for me to get to Diego’s room and meet him there asleep with his kids on both sides of him. And for some reason, the sight just annoyed the heck out of me.
I loved the way there was decision him and the kids before, I enjoyed seeing them have so much disagreements and misunderstandings. I also want him to keep his indifferent attitude towards his kids because I felt like it benefits me somehow, especially when it is time for him to get married to me. Mia and Diego would definitely be the first people to be against it because even though I have been caring for them in my own way before and after their mother’s death, they never treated me like I mattered to them. They just never liked me.
The difference in treatments can be clearly seen when Deangelo’s younger sister, Lucy comes around to the house, they get so free with her and they never even want her to leave, and the fact that this has also been adopted with Elena who has barely been here for just few weeks, it further confirmed that they really just had problems with me.
When I used to try to get to know them and even treat them like their mother did just for them to like me and be open to me replacing her, it never worked and now that the alpha was getting closer to his kids and even letting Mia back into his life is scary because I had planned to just have them sent to god knows where after I marry their father.
I want to do this because I do not want to deal with any spoilt brats and I want to be given he chance to be alone with my husband and start our new family.
“Where is Mia, since she got back from school, she has not been down to eat her food.” Mrs. Cali said as soon as I stormed down the stairs and back to the kitchen where she was doing some cookings while Camila helps her.
“Last I checked, Mrs. Cali, I am not their nanny, I am simply heir tutor so asing abut them from me is quite stupid. You know the way to her room!” I snapped and then walked past her but then Camila dragged me back by my collar. The audacity!
That girl irritates me to the last bone! She has so much guts and she thinks she has every single one of my plans known.
Bitch!
“Did you just speak so rudely to my mom? Are you seriously out of your freaking mind?” She yells, ready to pounce on me should I dare to speak out of turn and it made me laugh because we both know that she could not take me if we decide to shift and start this craziness. I was two times stronger than she was, so she acting like she is anything but beneath my feet is quite hilarious.
“Look, Camila or whatever that name of yours is, I am so not in the mood for your troubles today if not, you know how it takes me nothing to put you in your rightful place!” I snap at her and ten walk away to sit on a chair in the lounge, whilst pretending to enjoy the cool evening.
I was about to stand up when a maid splashes water a few inches away from me and even though it did not even touch me, I was instantly irritated and pissed. I was in a very bad mood after all, from my plan not looking like it would actually get actualized even in months to come, to the stupid kids getting along with him and then to the alpha himself getting so smitten and somewhat concerned about Elena for whatsoever reason.
Elena simply arrived just to capture everybody’s heart and love, gaining everything I have longed for for years in a matter of weeks. Sometimes, whenever I see them talking about her, it is as if she had been here for years, like I am the new addition to the pack and not her. The irony!
“Are you blind or something? I sit here minding my business and somehow, the dirty water in your hands manages to get all over me?” I yell at the maid in annoyance and she apologizes over and over then leaves while I simply continued to glare at her.
Bloody Omegas!
“I am going to take these t the laundry room, mom.” Camila announces after throwing me a glare and I eye her too.In her hands were some dirty clothes that she seemed to have picked up from Mia and Diego’s rooms and I hiss yet again. That was typically be Elena's job but since she was dramatically ill of course, Camila is picking up after her and acting like a maid while she gets paid for the job she hardly does. Just imagine that, that bitch just always get a lot of helping hands around here even without batting an eyelid. It is as if she has some sort of force that just makes people love and do things for her so much.
Camila leaves after saying more stuffs to her mom and I roll my eyes at the mother-daughter duo.
Seconds later, Mrs. Cali calls on me, “Sofia, please, I had some tea prepared for Elena because the doctor have instructed that we keep her hydrated despite being unconscious-”
“Okay. So?” I cut in, knowing that she was about to send me on an errand. Sometimes, the old woman just sends everyone to anywhere like we were all her children.
“Well, I wanted to ask if you could help me get it to her in her room and maybe feed it to her through the straw so she could take the drugs later?” She asked like I had expected.
“And why should I even do that?” I asked, pissed at the effontery of her asking me to literally go and serve the bitch I hate.
“Please, Sofia. You don’t have to be difficult all the time. Just take it to her, I need to go check on the dried leaves I left outside, I think it is going to rain.” Mrs. Cali pleads and I stood up reluctantly.
“Thank you, darling. You don’t need to put any cinnamon, she is allergic to it.” She said as she left the open spaced kitchen to me.
Of course I knew that Elena was allergic to Cinnamon because she repeated it a lot of time to us all but as soon as Mrs. Cali left, I got a sick and funny idea as I immediately took a large amount of the cinnamon and dumped it into the cup of iced tea. I then took the tea upstairs to Elena’s room and I was about to feed her through the straw after adjusting the bed upwards when Camila walked in unannounced.
In her hands was a bowl of water and a rag to obviously wash Elena's face and body. I reacted guiltily to Camila's presence because I was caught offguard by her presence and what i was about to do and Camila immediately looked sspicious of me too.
“Why do you seem nervous?” She asks with a brow raised up whilst looking at the tea and then at Elena.
“It is nothing, of course. I guess I was just trying to figure out how you people feed her with the straw despite her being unconscious.” I responded without stuttering, “why did you come back so quickly though, you could have taken your time, I would feed her.” I added.
Camila did not seem convinced and I knew it was because offering to help anybody do anything that was within my jurisdiction isn’t something I take so nonchalantly, especially when it came to Elena. If anybody knows that I did not really like the lady, then it was Camila.
She acted like she was perceiving a smell that should not be in here and then she seemed to get it, “cinnamon!” She yelled as she snatched the cup from my hands and then inhaled it deeply to confirm her suspicions.
“What is this? This is does not even smell nor taste like the normal dosage of cinnamon that is supposed to be added, and will you pretend not to know that the one thing that Elena is allergic to is cinnamon. She even sneezes from the smell alone, she told all of us that to avoid this kind of stuff!” Camila scolded and I glare at her.
Despite knowing that she definitely caught me, I was not going to give in easily, “oh please, I do not keep tabs on everything that pertains to Elena. She is not a priority in my life, this pack nor anywhere. I will not be blamed for forgetting what she is allergic to. Who even cares about things like that?”
”Are you out of your mind, allergies are allergies because they are dangerous, you were about to feed a sick person her allergy and you act like it’s-”
A sudden sneeze interrupted her and we both looked in the direction of the sneeze only to see Elena’s two eyes opened.
