Wedding
Divya POV
***********
"Divi!" I was wide awake when I heard Ana's booming voice in my room.
"Wake up! It's your wedding day!" Came her voice, louder and clearer than ever.
I slowly opened my eyes as I felt weird knots in my stomach.
Daksh!
I haven't seen him since the past one week because it is as a bad luck if the groom sees the Bride before the wedding.
"Good morning sister in law" Ana said teasingly. I smiled, threw the blanket away from me and sat down, letting my eyes roam around my dad room.
Oh God! Last night, I fell asleep on my Dad's lap. Poor dad, he will be in pain.
"Doll, aren't you ready till now? It's your mehendi today!" My Pari maa asked me, entering the room.
"Sorry Pari maa, just give me 5 minutes" I apologized.
"It's ok, doll. Now go she take a shower. Ana, help my doll" Pari maa said and stormed out of my room. I was heading toward the bathroom for taking shower.
After having a long shower, I stepped out of the bathroom only to see Ana sitting on my bed.
"Here are your clothes and jewellery for today's ceremony!" Ana said, handing me a beautiful yellow dress.
Ana helped me to wear the long beautiful gown and matched it with some floral jewelry.
"Wow! Divi, yellow colour looks so good on you" she said and hugged me.
After I changed, we all headed to the courtyard for the ceremony. It was decorated beautifully with flowers of all colours. Trees were decorated nicely with flowers and lights. I saw dad talking to the decorates as he looked around the lightening and arrangements.
I sat on a beautiful yellow decorated seat. Soon all ladies started coming to me and applied little amounts of haldi on my shoulders, arms, face and everywhere!
Pari maa came to me and smeared some on my face. Then, Ana came to me and applied large amount of the haldi on my face. I glared daggers at her but all she did was smirk then. An idea suddenly popped into my mind. I smiled mischievously and took some haldi in my hand and applied her face. She widened her eyes.
"Mom" Ana whined. All are started laughing at Ana.
"Don't worry, Haldi adds colour to your skin, and you will glow on your Bhai and Bhabhi wedding day" Pari maa, said giving us a relaxing smile.
Soon the ceremony ended, and it was time to get ready for the wedding.
I went into my room and headed to take a bath. Taking the last clothing off, I turned on the shower. The water was hot, and it felt good. I closed my eyes and felt the turmeric washing off my body.
Suddenly, Daksh's thoughts came back in my head. I know he hates me. I tried to make him understand that I didn't cheat on him. If I was told that I will marry him four months ago then I would have been jumping in happiness, but right now I'm sad and disappointed. I don't know how my life is going to be if I be married to him. My life was going to change, and I can see it clearly.
'Will we ever live happily like normal couples with love?' I swallowed the lump in my throat. He still doesn't trust me. Not yet. What is the real problem? You can't truly love without trust.
'He should learn to trust me, and I'll teach him, that' I whispered to myself. I forgot I was in the shower. I sighed and turned off the shower. Grabbing a towel from the shelf, I wrapped it around me.
Pari maa and Ana helped me to get ready. I was wearing a Red and Golden dress with heavy jewellery.
I checked myself in the mirror. "Wow Divi, you look more beautiful than I had expected" Ana exclaimed. I smiled at her.
"Yes doll, you're looking truly gorgeous, just like a real doll in this wedding dress. You know, if your mom was alive, she would have been happy" Pari maa said, and I got emotional hearing this.
I miss my mom!
Suddenly, we heard the door knocking sound. Ana opened the door and there stood my dad, with a big smile on his face. Dad came to me with a wide smile. I smiled back and he took my hand on his, kissing my forehead.
"I can't believe my little doll has grown so big, and today you are going to leave me" he said caressing my face. I felt a heavy lump in my throat as a tear fell down from my eyes. Ana and Pari maa went outside to give us some privacy.
"It's like today you were born" Dad said throatily. "And now, you're getting married. My Ritika will be very happy" He cried, hugging me and patting my head. I felt weird knots in my stomach. An inner voice told me not to leave my dad alone.
"I don't want to marry, dad" I chocked out. My Dad smiled through the tears and pulled back from the embrace.
"Don't say like that. Even I don't want to send you away either, but...." Dad trailed off "Whatever I am doing. It's for your and your baby's sake. I just want you both to be happy" my dad said.
"Want to see your mom's gift that I bought for you?" Dad asked happily.
"What? Mom's gift?" I asked confusingly.
"Yes, your mom's gift to you. It is a letter. She gave it to me asking me to give you when it's the right time" I held the letter to my chest tightly.
'Mom, I miss you!' My inner voice cried. I don't have the courage to open it now. I kept it inside my suitcase. I will look at it when I am alone.
"Let's go. We are getting late!" We went downstairs, and everyone sat inside the car. The driver drove us to the wedding venue. I was nervous and I never felt this way before.
I kept wondering where the venue was, who knows?
All of a sudden, Ana blindfolded me.
"Ana, what are you doing? Why are you..." I was asking her, but she sussshhh me, by placing her finger on my lips.
"Just wait and watch. You will love the surprise. It will be the best" She said.
Oh God! I had to be blindfolded because it was a surprise. I sighed.
Soon, the driver stopped the car. I felt Ana holding my hand as she led me outside the car. Then slowly she took my blindfold off. I gasped and immediately put my hands to my mouth in shock. I realised I was on a wonderful beach, and a beautiful mandap set up. The crystal-clear water, the cool air breeze and the palm tree just blew my mind. There were uncountable people on the beach, and they had their eyes fixed on me.
"Its breathtaking" I whispered, not taking my eyes off the mandap decorations.
"Your Akash uncle arranged this surprise for you" my dad said. I saw Akash uncle, Riya, Hema coming towards me.
"Thank you so much Uncle. I can’t thank you enough for this. The mandap set up, and the decorations are absolutely beautiful. Thank you so much for making my day more amazing" I thanked him, emotionally.
"You don't need to thank me, beta" Akash uncle said. Riya and Hema hugged me happily. They told me the I looked at breathtakingly beautiful and Daksh won't be able to keep his eyes and hand's off me. I blushed.
I looked at the mandap and saw Daksh was sitting in front of me. He is wearing traditional sherwani, concentrating on Pandit ji's mantra and chants.
Oh god! He is looking so handsome. His black eyes, his sharp cut jaw and his lips, the pink lips. I have never seen any men with that pink lips, and it's so tempting!
'What the hell! Am I am thinking?' I thought and smacked myself inwardly.
"Ana, take her carefully to the stage" Pari maa said. Ana gripped my shoulders and led me carefully to the stage.
Suddenly, Daksh's eyes caught mine. His eyes froze at mine, not moving even for a second. I froze in my place as he gazed at me intensely. Suddenly, his eyes widen a little. I wonder why? Not only that but they were filled with Lust and love?
Oh No! I hope he doesn't think we're having s*x after this, he doesn't even trust me.
Ana took me to the mandap and made me sit beside him. I don't know why I am nervous beside him.
"You look so much breathtaking, this close" He whispered. I got shocked hearing his compliment.
"What did you just say?" I asked and stared at him with wide eyes.
He composed himself and said, "You look so ugly and very horrible in this red lehenga" he said arrogantly.
Je*k!
"Thanks for your compliment but you look more ugly and very bulky in this sherwani" I mocked at him. He glared at me.
"Why are you glaring at me? It's not my fault. It's the truth" I smirked at him.
An evil smile started playing about his lips. "Of course, it's my fault because I am going to marry a characterless girl who cheated on me. I'll show you what happens to cheaters like you!" He said coldly.
My eyes widened and I looked at him, not knowing what to say. His words are now penetrating through my heart.
I'm not happy with this marriage. Even though I was forced to marry a heartless jerk, I didn't want to get married this way. I wanted to marry someone who trusts me and loves me.
Tears were ready to flow from my eyes, but I stopped myself as I can't show my weak side in front of Daksh. So I just glared at him, indirectly saying that I am in no mood to talk. Fortunately, he understood and started concentrating on pandit ji mantra and chants. I couldn't look at him, not after he hurt me.
My feet itched to run away from here, but I promised my Dad. "I will not run away from my problems. I will face them." I composed myself.
He was losing his place in my heart little by little.
**************************************
Precap - Soon I'm going to prove that you're the father to my baby. After that, I'll be completely out of your way. You won't ever get my love and my baby's love, and I will make sure of it" I told him sternly.
How is it?
