Chapter 14: He Never Ceases To Amaze Me

“Jaime or Lilly, do you have any homework tonight? I thought maybe we could go see that new movie that you guys wanted to see, with that cute vampire in it.” Kelly asks while she looks at Jaime in the rear-view mirror.

Jaime sees her and replies shyly, “No mom I don’t have any homework and yes I would like to go.”

She seems to get a little excited over the prospect of seeing the hot actor in the movie and slinks back in the seat. Lilly patiently waits her turn to talk and then chimes in, “No I don’t have any either and yes I want to go too.”

Kelly can see Lilly already maturing and that scares her a little because she is starting to like kissy movies already.

“Well, that’s set then, we will all go.” Kelly says excitedly as she thinks about all she must do to get ready.

Lilly gets excited and asks loudly, “Is Grayson going to come with?”

Finding it hard, Kelly struggles to keep her emotions under control and blurts out, “No, I haven’t asked him. It is a girls night kind of thing. Just the three of us.”

The girls laugh together. After they get home, Lilly and Jaime get ready to go. She checks to make sure she has enough money on her for the show and then they leave before they are late.

They arrive just in time for the movie to start and Kelly gets their tickets, while the girls follow behind. Kelly grabs some popcorn and pop for everyone before she makes her way inside. As soon as they sit down, the movie starts, and the screen becomes instantly filled with blood. After all it is a vampire movie, then the movie turns romantic. A vampire and a teenage love interest who falls in love and then the inevitable happens when he bites her and turns her. After that they spend eternity together. The end.

Soon afterwards, the lights come back up and they leave the theatre. On the way home, they grab ice cream at Dairy Bar, then they swing by the playground. Once they have played for a while, Kelly drives them home. When they arrive, she sees that Samantha’s car is in the driveway. Excitedly, the kids run inside to say hi to Samantha as soon as the car is put into park.

“What’s going on sis?” Kelly asks curiously.

“They didn’t need me at work tonight, so I came home early.” Samantha murmurs while she sits nursing a glass of wine. “More time with my girls. I was surprised you guys were gone. Where did you go?”

Kelly sits next to her and replies softly, “We went to the movies, you know the one that they wanted to see with the vampire. It was surprisingly good. We had a girl’s night out.” Kelly turns to look at the girls and then reminds them loudly as she yells down the hall after them, “Girls, go get ready for bed and don’t forget to brush your teeth.”

A little while later, it is all quiet in the house as they lay asleep in their beds. Samantha and Kelly sit back and begin to watch a movie on tv. While relaxing on the couch, she puts her feet up, and falls asleep.

Sometime around 3 a.m., she wakes up and goes to her bedroom quietly, so she doesn’t wake anyone else. After shutting the door behind her, she flops down on her bed and falls back to sleep. When her alarm goes off, she hurries and gets the girls up, then she makes sure they get ready in time and off to the bus before she takes a shower.

Throwing her head back, she closes her eyes and feels the water cascade down her face before she sighs. As she thinks of Grayson and her strange companion Carlos, she washes her hair and then rinses the shampoo out before she shuts the invigorating, hot water off.

As soon as she does, she hears the door ring. Finding a towel quickly, she wraps it around her and then goes to the door. As she opens it, she starts to smile because Grayson is at the door, and he is carrying a guitar. Stepping to the side, she suggests softly, “Come on in, just let me get some clothes on. Sit down for a few minutes.” and then she walks into the bedroom to put on a sundress.

When she returns, she sits down by him and asks, “So what’s up with the guitar?”

“I wrote you a song and I want to serenade you.” He replies while grinning at her like a kid in love, then he turns to her on the couch and begins to sing.

She listens as she looks deep into his eyes as the words flow from his lips like syrup, sweet and delicious. He strums the guitar to the music as the words make the melody. When he stops singing, she kisses him quickly as a reward.

“That was beautiful, truly. I didn’t know that you sing and play the guitar.” She whispers before giving him a soft kiss on his chin.

Glancing down at his guitar, he murmurs softly, “When I think about you, this is the way I feel. With my heart and soul, I love you. You make me want to hold you and never let you go.”

Blushing, he stops and looks away. Kelly did not know that he had such a soft side, but not that she sees it, it makes her take a step back and start to think more about their relationship.

When she takes the guitar from him, she puts it down on the chair next to her before she moves closer and kisses him on his cheek, just barely grazing his skin. Samantha opens her door to realize that she is interrupting and says apologetically, “Sorry, you two. I did not know you had company sis. I just woke up.” While yawning and stretching. “Hey Grayson, did I hear a guitar?”

He looks at her, “Yeah, I was playing a song for your sister I wrote her. Sorry if I woke you.”

“No problem, I think I am going to go take a bath, so please, go back to what you were doing. I will be in there for a while.” She says while giving Kelly a dirty look and then disappearing into the bathroom before shutting the door behind her.

“Hey, would you like to go to the beach with me? It is a beautiful day and I know this private beach that hardly anyone ever goes to. You could even tan nude if you wanted to.” He grins.

She thinks about it for a few minutes, “Yes, it sounds like fun. Let me get my suit, then we’ll see about the nude part later.” She runs to the bedroom and changes, picking an extremely cute little green two piece that barely covers anything. On the way out she grabs a towel.

When she comes back, he gets up and practically falls over. He stares at her as he licks his lips and then says breathlessly, “We’ll have to go to my house quick so I can get a suit, then we can go.”

Once she follows him to his house, he changes into a bathing suit, grabs a towel and then they head to the car.

She made sure to bring tanning lotion. If she was going to be naked, she did not want to burn certain areas. As they get in the car, he kisses her on the shoulder and asks thoughtfully, “Did you have any other plans today?”

“No, I didn’t. I was just going to relax. However, this seems so much better. I love going with you anywhere.”
