Chapter 8: A Meal Fit For Lovers

When she opens the door slowly, Kelly watches as 3 pairs of very familiar eyes curiously look at her. She laughs and then shuts the door behind her before walking over to the couch. Right away, Samantha starts bugging her and asking curiously, “Where have you been? I know that you guys left about 11 last night and didn’t come back till just a few minutes ago?”

As she says this, the two girls give each other looks while smirks spread across their lips. Shaking her head, Kelly informs them right away with humor in her voice, “It isn’t what you think you guys. We watched a zombie movie and ate popcorn, then we went to an all-night diner and sat to talk. We didn’t realize that we were there all night until the sun started coming up. Then, I realized how fast the time went by.”

While she glances down at the couch, she starts to feel suddenly so tired she can barely stand, so she sits down before she falls.

Jaime gives her a big hug and then asks quietly, “So when is he going to come over again? I like him a lot and he is nice. Matter of fact, mom I think you two would be nice together.”

“Jaime!” Kelly yells because she is shocked that she would even say that. Giving both the girls a look, she turns to Samantha and puts her hands on her hips before pouting and asking, “As for you, did you start this?”

Samantha tries her hardest to look so innocent as she flutters her eyelashes and asks sarcastically, “Who, me? No. The girls just saw that you were gone and asked me where you went. I told them that you went over to hang out with Grayson and that you two are buddies now. I Just didn’t realize that you would be gone all night.”

As Kelly starts towards the bathroom to take a shower, she thinks to herself while sighing, “It has been a long night.” After she gets cleaned up, she is so tired that she decides to take a nap. The moment she lays down on the bed, she covers up with a throw and drifts off to sleep, dreaming of making love with him repeatedly.

A few hours later, Kelly wakes up and feels refreshed as she stretches and then walks into the kitchen. Looking around, she wonders why it is so quiet. “Where is everyone?” she murmurs under her breath while rubbing the back of her neck with her right hand.

Looking out the window, she sees everyone in the back yard, including Grayson. As he looks up at her, he smiles and then asks happily, “Did you have a good nap? I’m going to grill later and wondered if you guys want to come over and help me eat it.”

Immediately her face lights up before she exclaims energetically, “Sure, sounds wonderful!”

He winks at her and then says sweetly, “I will let you guys know when it is ready. I better get back. I have a couple of things to do first. See ya later.” He waves and then walks back home.

Kelly and Samantha return inside, while the girls sit out on the swings and enjoy the warm sun on their faces. After about an hour, Grayson strolls over and informs everyone that the food is ready. They all walk over to his house. The first thing Kelly notices is that he has a huge back yard with a gorgeous rose garden. He has set up a picnic table for everyone and it is covered with the most delicious picnic foods ever. It contains, corn on the cob, barbeque chicken and potato salad.

As everyone sits down and then digs in hungrily, Grayson looks at Kelly flirtatiously and then grabs a seat right next to her. Lilly starts laughing right away and asks shyly, “So when are you two going to get married?”

Trying to not get mad, Kelly stares intently at Lilly and asks in a forced voice, “What are you talking about Lilly?”

Lilly laughs, “Oh, come on mom. Are you going to lie to me? I can tell there is something going on between the two of you. Fess up.”

Kelly turns to her and confesses quietly , “O.k. Lilly, you caught me. I didn’t want to say anything because I didn’t know how you two would take it. We went on a date yesterday for lunch. Are you happy now?”

Shocked, Lilly cheers as she claps her hands and then declares, “Yes, I am. I knew something was going on. You two acted like you were hiding something. Mom, I want you to know that I won’t be upset if he’s still at the house in the morning.”

Kelly’s mouth drops open in shock and then she asks softly, “Lilly, really? Why are we talking about this?”

“Mom, because I love you. Remember, we had sex ed. in school last week. I know all about it now. Ms. Jorgenson showed us a movie.” Lilly says quickly before she shoves a spoonful of potato salad in her mouth.

When Kelly starts to feel completely uncomfortable, she asks shyly, “Honey, can we not talk about this anymore?”

“Mom, I’m not a baby anymore. In the class they showed us pictures and everything.” Lilly says with her mouth open and full of food.

“Well then, that’s wonderful. Why don’t you eat your food before it gets cold?” She says while wanting to hide now. As they pass around the rest of the meal, everyone is quiet, and they eat as if they are starving to death.

When they are all finished, Kelly and Samantha start cleaning up while the girls go home. Samantha turns to Kelly and suggests frankly to her, “Lilly is getting a little bit too big for her britches, don’t you think.”

Kelly laughs wholeheartedly and then whispers, “No kidding, I can’t believe she brought that up. I thought I was going to die.”

At precisely that moment, Grayson walks back out from the house after putting the leftover meat away as he says happily, “Hey, you girls. I just want to thank you for helping me clean up.”

After touching Kelly’s arm, he smiles as she replies, “It’s the least we can do for having us over. I can tell that my girls really liked it. They even ate seconds, and they never do that.”

“Yeah, usually we can only get them to eat pizza and spaghetti. It’s amazing. Well, I am going to be getting back home to see what the girls are up to. See you in a bit.” Samantha adds before she walks back across the street.

Yelling, Grayson smiles and says, “Thanks for coming over.” before Samantha turns around, smiles, and then proceeds to go inside.

Kelly does not know quite what to do, so she sits down and waits before asking curiously, “What are you doing for the rest of the day?”

“Nothing, unless you want to do something with me. Any ideas?” He asks seductively when he puts his hand on her shoulder and squeezes gently.

“Why don’t you come over and we can watch a movie or something?” She suggests while she places her hand over his and then adds softly, “I’ve got some chips and dip. We can relax for a while and then.”

“Will the girls mind?” He asks thoughtfully because he does not want to intervene in their family life.

“Of course, they won’t. You heard what Lilly said, she’s all good.” Kelly says as she looks at him with a big smile on her face and then flicks her tongue out to lick her lips seductively.

“So, I take it I’m staying the night then?” He says with a hint of sarcasm in his voice but hunger in his eyes.

Grinning, Kelly replies snidely, “Oh yeah, the moaning won’t wake up anyone.”

“I can be quiet, I promise.” He smirks as he replies and then winks at her. Laughing, he smiles because he secretly knows that is not true at all, and if given the chance he was going to wake everyone in the neighborhood.

Rubbing her hand on her leg slowly, she states jokingly, “I’m not worried about you, it’s me that would keep everyone up. I can’t control myself around you. Come on, let’s go.”

As she motions for him to come back to her house, she smiles sweetly before he follows behind her and smacks her ass playfully. “My oh my, how he wishes that he was doing more than smacking that sweet little ass of hers.” He thinks to himself with a devilish grin on those handsome lips of his.
