Chapter 3
Lily woke up very early, an action which surprised her father as she wanted an early bird. She hasn't been able to sleep much last night, not after her conversation with Chris.
"My Princess seems to be in a good mood, want to share the news with your father?" She asked, looking at his daughter with a questioning brow.
She smiled, "I'm fine daddy. Nothing much." She replied.
"Hmm," his lips moved to the side as he didn't believe her words. He was sure something added to her joyful mood.
"What?" She asked her dad as his action had shown he didn't believe her.
"I said nothing," he chuckled.
"Why do I not believe you?"
"Because I do not believe you too." He replied.
"Maybe the mood had to do with Liam," he added and the smile on Lily's face fell. She wondered why her dad had brought that up. She wondered if he had started shipping her with Liam just like her friends.
"Liam?" She asked rhetorically.
"Nothing has to do with Liam. Can I not just be in a good mood?" She asked.
"I am not saying that. Just that the way the both of you were last night seems to gain the attention of many people including I," her father said truthfully.
"I see." She said simply and briefly.
"You see what? Are you saying there is something going on?" He asks her.
He would be glad if she said something was indeed going on as Liam had come to him and informed him of his thoughts towards her.
He knew Liam was a capable man and was suited for his daughter. He wanted the best for his daughter and wanted someone who would treat her just like he did.
"Dad, there is absolutely nothing going on between us. But..." She trailed off thinking if she should tell him that he confessed having interest in her.
"But what?" Her dad asked, wanting her to keep going.
"Dad, you seem so interested." She shook her head before putting a spoonful of food in her mouth.
"Of course I would be interested. You are my precious daughter and I want to know everything involved in your life." He grabbed her hands and caressed them.
"Lily, Daddy wants the best for you as you are the only best I have in my life. I hope you understand my love." He said with so much concern laced on his tone.
Lily's heart melted. "Thanks so much Dad."
"I would be glad if you do not expect much from me because I'm sorry Liam and I have little to no chances of working out."
"And what is that so? Is there anything about him you've seen that I do not see?" He asks her.
Lily sighed. She didn't know if she should ask her father the questions that have been bothering her and by the questions that have been bothering her, she meant the ones Chris asked her about.
Was he going to let her settle down for a man who wasn't up to his social status? She asked within herself.
"Dad." She called, getting his already full attention.
"What is it, my princess?" He asks.
"What...what if I...what if I want someone else?" She stuttered nervously.
Her father was taken aback by her statement. He was still caressing her hands while staring into her eyes. He wondered if his daughter had seen someone already.
"You have someone already Princess?" He asked.
"Not that but I'm asking what if my preference isn't the same as yours? I mean what if who I want isn't someone you might approve because...because of his social status?" She whispers but loud enough for him to her.
Her father cleared his throat. He was speechless. His daughter had never spoken to him this way and he was curious to know who that man was.
"Who is he? How far have you gone? Do not tell me you are pregnant!" His eyes and Lily's eyes widened at his last statement.
"Dad!" She gasped.
"You have got to be kidding me. I said nothing of such and that was the only conclusion you could come up with?" She scoffed getting up from her seat.
"I'm done talking and I'm not hungry. Way to spoil the mood dad." She said, leaving the dinner room.
Her father exhaled deeply. He wouldn't want to hear anything bad happen to his child and would do anything to provide everything she wanted.
He wouldn't want to har she got pregnant out of wedlock because he would ruin the man.
It was past four in the evening when Liam came by Lily's house. From the moment Chris saw him he frowned.
Lily hadn't given him enough chances today as she told him she didn't want him disturbed. He knew if she didn't want to give him a chance it was all because of him.
When she had wanted him for a trial, he was too scared to give in and now she was slipping out of his hands and there was nothing he could do to stop him.
As if Lily knew Liam was around, she came out of her room with a smile on her face. When Liam had asked Lily if he could come over, she had wanted to say no at first but went against it as she would love to see the angry face of Chris.
He hurt her and now she's doing the same to him. Her eyes met Chris downstairs behind Liam and she smiled before making her way down the stairs to Liam.
Once she was in front of him, he opened his arms for her and she went into his embrace.
Chris clenched his fist upon the sight in front of him. Liam squeezed her lightly. "You smell nice." He complimented her and she fake blushing to make Chris pained.
Chris adjusted his tie in anger as he felt it was choking him.
"Are you ready to leave?" He asked and she nodded her head.
"Chris," she turned around to look at him.
"You do not need to bother. We are going alone," She said to him before walking out of the house while clinging onto Liam's hands.
When Lily had returned that day, it was past nine. She walked into her room to sleep as she was tired. The next day she walked towards the dinning room only to see Chris and Bella smiling and chatting with one another.
She frowned. Two days ago, he came to her to confess his undying feelings towards her and now he was smiling with another.
She clapped her hands aggressively to get their attention. "I remember you are paid to cook and not to gossip around right?" She asks Bella.
Bella clears her throat. "Good morning. I am sorry." She said bowing to her before leaving.
Chris cleared his throat, "Good morning."
Lily acted as if she hadn't heard him as she went to sit down. Just as Chris was about to leave, she stopped him.
"I see you and Bella are having a good time right?" She raised her brows in a questioning manner.
"Excuse me?" He spoke.
Lily clicked her tongue. "Excuse you seriously? You seem to be in a good mood with Bella and I'm complimenting." She said acting as if she didn't care but deep down she was fuming.
"The same way you were in a good mood with Liam right?" He replied with a grin on his face and she frowned.
She slammed her hands on the table before making advances towards him. "Well at least I didn't go around smiling," she scoffed.
"So what was I doing?" He asks, wanting her to tell him the wrong it was speaking to Bella.
"I do not know. Probably telling her to come to your room tonight. After all, we can never tell."
"You seem to think a lot or more like exaggerate but it's fine. How was your day last night?" He changed the topic and made it about her.
He could tell she was jealous and that gave him the infor he needed. She still liked him and wanted him just like he wanted her.
"My day was fine. At least I didn't get to lie to anyone about my feelings and then do another thing behind them."
Chris smirked, "Hmm. I see. You sure don't go back on your words dear Lily. Now tell me what it is about my closeness with Bella?"
"Well how do I know? I am not the one who told someone I wanted them and then went around laughing with another." She spat out.
Chris laughed. Her attitude was making him smile. She didn't know how to hide her jealousy well and he would love to see her more jealous.
"Okay." Was his firm reply pissed off.
"Okay to you too." He replied she turned around to leave but he pulled her back towards him.
His hands were now resting on her waist while her hands rested on his chest as she tried to balance and stop herself from falling. Her mouth opened slightly and she hiccuped.
"Are you jealous?" He asked, his eyes boring into hers.
She scoffed. "That's ridiculous! Jealous... jealous? Did you just say I'm jealous? Jealous of what and jealous for who?"
Chris shrugged, "Who knows. You might be jealous that I was smiling with another instead of you, isn't that it?" He raised his brows in a teasing manner.
She pushed him off but her attempt failed as he only tightened his hold on her. "I like it. The more you push, the more I pull." He licked his bottom lips, getting Kira's attention.
Her mouth parted slightly and her heart began to beat faster than normal. He was flirting with her knowing fully well what his actions were doing to her.
"Cat caught your tongue? Finding it hard to speak?" He teased me.
"I... You...stay..." She stuttered. She was short of words. His hold on her had made it hard for her to comprehend her thoughts.
"You say? Go on speaking. I'm listening." He said but she felt embarrassed.
"Stay away from me Chris." She said pushing him off her but her attempt failed again and this time when he pulled her towards him his lips landed on hers.
Lily's heart skipped and her eyes widened. A smile formed on Chris's face. He pulled her closer and slower and kissed her again. This time his mouth parted so he could taste her. Lily's eyes closed and she moved her hands so she could wrap it around his neck and she kissed him.
It has been long her lips touched his and the feeling of euphoria she got from his touch came back, ablazing her senses. Her stomach rumbles in joy and a smile forms on her face.
She was so happy, she parted her mouth and his tongue entered her mouth tasting her and she moaned.
Her moans were like music in Chris' ears. Wanting to control himself he pulled back and rested his forehead against hers.
They both inhaled and exhaled, their eyes closed, trying to catch their breath.
"It was nice." Chris muttered.
"Lily, let's give it a try," he said after a while.
Lily sighed and then she opened her eyes to look at him. "Fine."
