##Chapter 2
I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Because he? Why at his house? I rolled my eyes when he broke into a huge smile looking surprised.
- You. he said looking at me steadily.
- Yes, me. I can enter? — I asked starting to feel new drops of rain fall on my skin. I must have looked awful.
“Sure, sure. —the tone never normal, always mocking. And giving me way, he ran a hand through his hair while giving me a wink.
My heart was so pathetic. Why did you vibrate with this?
- Thanks. A woman at the lodging gave me this address, she said that she was a person who gave shelter to tourists when there were no more vacancies there. I explained and he laughed. Like always.
“Actually, I don't give shelter to anyone. What has happened is that all those who provide shelter in addition to lodging are also full. The woman simply pulled out a random address and gave it to you. He crossed his arms, leaning back against the doorframe of what I thought was a kitchen.
"Did she even let you know about it?" Why didn't you even ask me what I'm doing here...
“Yes, she told me. He insisted for a good few minutes, I didn't want anyone here, I hate having visitors. But in the end I ended up giving in, I just didn't know it would be you. I could only pay attention to his sexy accent at the moment.
"Are you going to let me stay?" I'm not much of a visitor and I'll pay for it. I just need to relax tonight and tomorrow I'm sure the storm will be over. Please disregard our little disagreement earlier. I don't think you would be able to leave me alone in that place, in the middle of the street , would you? I asked feeling despair overwhelm me.
What if he got mad at me for calling him an idiot and didn't want to let me sleep there tonight?
"Just let me quiz you a little." All good? I have to know who will sleep under the same roof as me. He rubbed his chin.
- OK...
"Where are you coming from, princess?"
— From Canberra, capital of Australia. — shit , why did he keep calling me princess and my ego weirdly felt good about it?
“Where are you going?”
“California, my real home. He seemed to ponder for several seconds before answering.
" How desperate are you for a place to sleep?" — I walked away.
"What are you implying?" I exclaimed with my heart pounding.
- Hey Hey. You can stop thinking nonsense Barbie. I'm not looking to fuck you for a room if that's what you're thinking. You're not even my type! He gestured with his hands.
- Oh yes? And what's your type then? I know I shouldn't, but I somehow felt offended by his claim.
“I'm not interested in women who look like silk or crystal so expensive that anything rips or breaks.
I swallowed, not quite understanding the depth of his metaphor. I wasn't a silk and much less a crystal! But I decided not to argue, I needed a pillow to sleep.
"Then tell me what you'll want in exchange for lodging besides money."
“Next month I have to sort out some issues in California and I don't know anyone there. I'd like you to return today's favor when I need it.
"Do you want to stay at my house when you go to California?" My tone was exasperated.
- Yes. You're on mine today and I'll be on yours next month.
- What?! I exclaimed indignantly.
"Are you deaf, doll?"
“No, I heard. But... I can't let a stranger stay in my house. I don't even know you, I don't know who you are, what you do...
—Oh! Looks like we have similar situations here now, don't we? he said giving me a shock of reality.
I thought for a few moments and suddenly started laughing, I didn't know if it was my tiredness, stress or annoyance. Shit! He was right. This was all so crazy. My house had more than ten rooms, my parents wouldn't even notice the presence of a "tenant" of mine there.
- And then? - Inquired.
"Do I have another choice?" No! Then it's fine. — I surrendered.
- Look. — he called me near the window — That's Horthur, he can give you a room if you prefer.
I saw a big, fat man picking weeds around a house in the rain. He had a scary face. No, thank you.
- I already said yes. I just want to rest now. — I felt my arm hurt from carrying my heavy bag — Where will I sleep?
"There's only one room here, so..." He arched his eyebrows, giving me a quizzical look.
"I'm not going to sleep with you!" I uttered indignantly again.
“Fuck, but of course you won't. Do you always have that perverted mind, princess? I whimpered too tired to argue with him.
"Then just tell me where I'm going to sleep." I need to rest, please. — if I closed my eyes I would fall hard on that icy floor and sleep right there.
— I have a spare mattress, I'll arrange it on the bedroom floor for you.
"Am I going to sleep on the floor?" I asked in a soft voice.
- Yes? There's only one bed and I sleep in it. Then...
"Okay, okay!" Already understood. Could you help me with the bags? I can't take them anymore. I asked and he went outside where I left the two suitcases and picked them up without much difficulty.
But still shooting me an irritated look.
"What the fuck do you carry in that?" Will you need it all for one night? he asked walking somewhere and I followed him.
"I like to be forewarned and they're not rubbish!" It's my stuff. I can't just leave them on the plane. I defended myself .
Then he put the suitcases on the floor inside a small room, simple and very well organized for a man alone. There was only a single bed in it, a small table beside it and a very large brown pure wood wardrobe .
I leaned against the doorframe and watched him as he bent down to pull a mattress, at that moment his shirt rode up a little exposing a tan and very rigid abdomen, like the stones that were part of the construction of his house. An unwanted heat built up between my legs and I needed to distract myself. So I started walking down a small corridor where there were several pictures on the wall, he in many of them. It should be your family.
- Hey! Don't touch anything. I was startled by the deep voice behind me.
"I'm sorry... Are these your family?" I asked, getting a dark look back.
“It doesn't interest you. He grunted rudely, swallowing hard. "The bathroom is over there, if you want to use it." He pointed in one direction and walked out of my sight.
I rummaged through my suitcase looking for a towel and some comfortable, but well-behaved clothes for me to sleep in. Fortunately I found a sweatshirt, but shorts only had one and very short, but that would be the one I was going to wear. I looked at the mattress looking very inviting and comfortable, it was lined with clean sheets and also had a blanket folded on top. I yawned, imagining myself falling into a good sleep after a while.
The bathroom was also small like the other rooms, but clean and tidy. Just as well, I wouldn't have the courage to go in if it were the other way around. I took a long shower, used my vanilla and rose soap I always carried in my purse. When I was done, I dried off, got dressed, and walked back to the bedroom in my flip-flops.
I didn't see the handsome blond man anymore, maybe he was upset with my question, but I didn't say anything too much! I shook my head trying to ignore all the craziness going on as I lay down on the mattress. Finally I smiled, happy because I was going to sleep. Wonder.
