"The circumstances were different then. I had to do it." Phoenix managed to gasp out as she struggled to breath and break from his hold, her throat was hurting her for talking long. She knew he wouldn't kill her, not when he hadn't killed Storm.

Releasing his hold on her as she fell to the ground with a loud thud, he was out of the cell so quickly and was at the other end of the cave where he kept most of his things.

"Please, stop this madness and talk to Storm, make peace with him there is no need to spill more blood," Phoenix said as soon as she got her breath under control.

The unknown man snorted loudly that it echoed after him. "Peace? Did you say peace Phoenix?" he asked in anger as he turned towards her. He walked back to her cell slowly like a hunter walking majestically towards its prey. He only stopped when he was standing in front of the cell. "There will be no peace but war and winners. Only victors are allowed to live, this world is merciless like that." he added.

"You're wrong, this world is merciless, true, but it's also very beautiful, it depends on how you view it," Phoenix said and grabbed hold of the iron bar as she stood up to her feet, staring at him. "I am going to save you even if it kills me."

"That is if you are still alive to do that."

"Sometimes you must hurt in order to know, fall in order to grow, lose in order to gain because life's greatest lessons are learned through pain. You know that don't you?" She said her eyes still glue on the man standing before her. "War does not determine who is right, only who is left."

He Ignored her and went back to the end of the cave, picked what he wanted and turned and left the cave without looking back.

Once alone, Phoenix started crying.

Kando Room:

Kando was a bit startled when he heard a knock on his door, taking a sniff in the air, he relaxed when he realized it wasn't Dean. He stood up and went to open the door allowing the two servants into his room.

"Greetings to you my Lord, we brought you and your host your dinner." One out of the two females spoke and dropped the two large trays of food which Kando didn't see at first at the feet of Gwen, lightened up the candle that was attached to the wall which brightened up the room and with a bow they left the room.

Kando hadn't realized it was night, going to look at the stars in the sky and heaved out a sigh of relief when he realized the night was still young.

"Kando." Gwen's voice made him turn around. "Where did you go? I was alone and I don't like that." she added carefully not to kick the food on the bed. She walked towards him since he made no move to come to her. She opened her arms to hug him but he stepped away from her as if her body was burning him.

"Come and eat, you will be leaving tonight." Kando said to her as he went to sit on his bed and started dishing out food for Gwen.

Trying not to feel hurt or let it show on her face, she turned to look at him confusedly. "Leaving? To where?" she asked as she approached him, she sat down beside him as she watched him.

"Back to Ashland. I went to see Storm today and we made a deal so I will be taking you back," Kando said and gave her the plate he was holding and stood up as well, putting space between them. "Eat up."

"Does your master know?"

"No, he doesn't but your mother knows." Kando answered. "Look, Dean is angry and might take it out on you to hurt Storm. He said it with his own mouth so to avoid that I have to return you back to Ashland."

"And put yourself in danger? No, I will not leave," Gwen said.

"Don't be proving stubborn Gwenevere, you're leaving and that is it. I will have to drag you there myself if I have to," Kando said in anger as he tried to bring down his voice.

Gwen's eyes narrowed as he called out her full name.

"If I leave, you will be punished by your master and I don't want that to happen, let's find a way out of this. There must be another option or we will fight him." Gwen suggested. She couldn't leave him now that she has realized she was in love with him. Can't he see her heart? How can she leave him alone to bear the punishment?

"You're still not getting it. It's better I get punished than for him to punish or kill you. I am not like you, okay so forgive me if I don't see your reason." Kando told her. "Eat up, once it's midnight I will be taking you to meet Storm like I'd promised him this morning. Don't you want to meet Kira? Your twin sister?" he asked.

"Why are you doing this?" Gwen asked. "You are chasing me away."

"I am not chasing you away Beautiful, I am protecting you, don't you get it? Staying here will put you in danger and if you are not thinking about yourself at least think about your mother, once Dean sees you he will do anything to hurt your mother, think."

"Why are you doing this Kando, why?" Gwen repeated her previous question.

Pinching the bridge of his nose as he closed his eyes and inhaled deeply before opening his eyes to look at Gwen, making sure his face wasn't showing any emotion.

"It's for the best," he answered and he knew his next words might hurt him but he needed to say it. "When I went to Ashland to see Storm, I saw Morgan. He wasn't himself, he was crazy about you and he nearly fought me because of you." he added with a chuckle as he remembered Morgan. "He will take care of you... so that's why I am doing this, I don't want to separate you both." his face became serious. "He loves you Gwen and you love him too, that's all that matters and besides, he is Storm's brother so I don't want to anger Storm any more."

'But he is not the one in my heart anymore but you.'

Gwen wanted to scream those words at him but held herself. "Your brother..."

"He knows about my plans, don't worry he won't stop us."

"Kando what if this was destined to happen?"

"Destined?" he snorted. "I don't think so," he added. We are destined to walk differently, Beautiful."

"I mean you coming to Ashland with Kira and me coming with Storm to Ashland and meeting Morgan and-"

Interrupted her. "That's enough about Morgan. Please eat your food before it gets cold."

"Won't you eat?" Gwen asked.

"I'm not hungry, don't worry I will eat when I return back so don't bother about me." Kando answered.

"I am not eating too if you don't eat with me."

"Beautiful, I just said I will only eat once I return from Ashland, don't worry about me."

"I am also not going back on my words, it's either you eat with me or I won't eat," Gwen said with determination.

Kando stares at her and finally stretches one of his hands towards her. "Put something in there let me eat if that will make you eat."

"No, you will sit down on the bed with me and I will feed you."

Kando wanted to argue but when he looked outside his room window and stared at the stars once again, he went back to where he was sitting before and waited.

Gwen smiled to herself and started feeding herself and him.

Soon they finished everything on the plate and also on the trays and drank wine that came with the food. Kando didn't know how hungry he was until they had empty the tray. Gwen stood up and put the empty tray somewhere in the room and when she turned around she saw Kando getting up and quickly went to meet him, blocking him.

"Sit down, we are not done yet." Gwen said and pushed Kando back to the bed. "Why are you running away from me Kando?" she asked all of a sudden.

"I don't know what you mean, I am not running away from you."

"Liar, you have been avoiding my touch since I woke up, why?"

"I don't know what you're saying," Kando said and tried to get up but was prevented by Gwen's hand on his chest. If it was possible his heart beat increased. "You've got to start preparing, I will be taking you to Ashland soon, midnight is fast approaching us."

"You are not the only one that knows that, Kando," Gwen said. Her face was much closer to his. "I want to kiss you, please don't say no."

Before Kando would reply to her, he felt her lips on his and he didn't hold back, he couldn't if he had tried. He closed his eyes as Gwen opened her mouth and Grant him access, their tongue battling for dominance, Kando winning of course.

When the lack of air forced them apart, Gwen rested her head on his shoulder blade and wished she could stay like that all her life. She doesn't want to return without Kando knowing about her love for him.

Kando couldn't move, Gwen was sitting on his lap, straddling him, he couldn't remember how she ended up on his lap. And he didn't care, he wanted to kiss her again but was afraid to do that.

"There is something you must know Kando," Gwen began and felt him stiff. "The little time I had spent with you made me realize my true feelings for you and I am so so for not realizing it quickly."

"Realizing what?" Kando asked, his eyes still closed.

"I don't want to let you go Kando, I like you a lot and love you too." she confessed her feelings.

Kando tried not to open his eyes when he felt her gaze. "You don't know what you're saying, you can't just wake up and fall in love with someone you don't have a single feeling for." Was she playing with him? Trying to pull his legs?

"I know what I am saying Kando and believe me when I saw I love you," Gwen said slowly and kissed him again, but when Kando didn't respond to her kiss, she withdrew. "Look at me."

"No."

"I love you Kando forever and ever and ever. I want you and not anyone else," she said. "Believe me."

Kando shook his head. "You don't know what you're saying. Dress up, Morgan will be so happy to see you."

"I am not talking about Morgan but you. I don't love Morgan but you idiot, I'm in love with you don't you get it?"

"That was why you told Morgan too, that you love him, you even told me remember? Gwen, don't force yourself, I know when I am not needed."

"You don't know anything," Gwen said with wide eyes. "But I am telling you the truth, why can't you believe me?"

Kando opened his eyes. "You're confused Gwen, first it was Morgan and now me," shaking his head. "I now see you as a friend just the way I see Kira."

"I am not confused Kando I know what I want and I want you, only you, and not Morgan, can't you wrap that in that thick skull of yours?" Gwen said no longer holding her anger as she yelled at him. "But if you don't believe me, well be my guest." She added and was out of his lap, went to the wardrobe and picked up the clothes she had worn when Cando kidnapped her and headed towards the bathroom. "Let me freshen up so that I can get out of your life, I hope that will make you happy." She closed the door with a loud bang that echoed in the room.

Kando quietly watched her until she was in the bathroom before he stood up and went to the window to wait.

Soon, he heard the bathroom door opening but made no move as he pretended he was staring outside and was startled when he felt arms around him and a head pressed on his back. How had she come to him without him hearing her footsteps?

"I am so sorry for yelling at you."

Taking a deep breath before replying to her. "It's okay Beautiful, I understand."

Oh you don't understand, if you do, you won't allow me to go. She was late in discovering her love for him and now that she wants him he no longer wants her back. There was nothing she could do to make him change his mind but there is something they have to do so that she can remember him.

"Kando, there is something I want you to do for me, please for the sake that you once loved me before don't say no."

"What is it Beautiful? Tell me I am all ears."

"I want you-"

"Gwen-"

"...to make love to me," Gwen finished as if she hadn't been Interrupted.

Kando opened his mouth but nothing came out of it. He closed it and licked his sudden dry lips. Did Gwen know what she said? Was she trying to drive him crazy? What games is she playing?

"I know what I said and I mean it." Gwen said as if she heard his thoughts. "And no I am not playing games." she added and Kando turn to look at her.

"Get out of my head." He didn't get to finish his statement when he paused and stared at the sight before him with wide eyes.

Gwen was na.ked.

"What are you doing?" Kando gulps as he tries not to stare but fails. Gwen was beautiful.

"I want you, every inch of you Kando, please don't say no."

"Do you even realize what you are saying?"

"Yes I do," she said and pressed her body on his. "I want you inside me, I want to feel you Kando, don't deny the one thing I am asking from you." she added and started rubbing his semi ha.rd mem.ber.

Kando's body responded as he leaned to her touch and without thinking his lips descended on hers and claimed her mouth as his.

Every kiss felt like a stamp of ownership, and Gwen was gladly submitting to him, loving it. She moaned into the kiss and let him invade her mouth as he wanted. Her hand left his mem.ber to hold the back of his head.

Gwen felt Kando's hands roaming over her back until they moved so low to cupped her as.s cheeks. His warm palms pulled her much closer against him. His arousal was very apparent as his mem.ber pressed against her.

They pulled apart and stared into each other's eyes.

"Are you sure, Beautiful?"

"Yes Kando with all my heart, I want you to claim me as yours."

Staring at the moon that has begun to come out, he knows there is still time.

The little time he had with her he was going to use it and make sure he memorized every inch of her body.
