CHAPTER 32 – MEETING HIS MISTRESS

I walked around the kitchen accompanied by Lara and the chief servant. I wanted to see how things are been done around here and also to ensure that things are going on smoothly as they should.

“Everything is ready and we are hoping that you would tell us what you would like for breakfast,” the chief servant said to me.

“What does my husband normally have for breakfast?” I inquired.

“The alpha would rather prefer to eat alone, luna, unless where he specifically requests for you to join him” she replied.

“That is not my question, Tabitha” I pointed out.

“I am sorry, my luna. The alpha usually would prefer coffee and a little sandwich to go with that occasionally. However, he is not one to eat early” she replied.

“So he skips breakfast?” I asked.

“Yes. luna. He is usually not around during breakfast. He goes for training the whole morning” she replied.

“Okay, I will find my way around that” I murmured.

“Sorry, my luna?” she wanted to be sure what she had heard.

“That was not for you” I replied.

As I walked around, I inspected the activities of everyone and corrected them when I felt they were not getting it right.

“You don’t do it that way, try to make sure you always use a bigger tray,” I said to the omega slicing the vegetables.

“Okay, luna, I will do as you instructed from now on” the omega replied and she immediately went for a bigger tray.

“That would ensure that your separate the tomatoes from the spinach,” I said.

“Thanks, luna” she bowed.

I left her side and went on to the others. I was glad that things are going as they should and after today, Lara would be in charge of the activities in the kitchen.

“You are very dutiful around here, Tabitha. I see Lara would not have much to worry about working with you” I remarked.

“I am glad to know that you are okay with everything around here” she replied.

“Now, I have to go for my training session,” I said. I turned to Lara. “Lara, come with me”

“What are you going to have for breakfast, luna?” Tabitha asked as I was about to leave.

“I will see to that when I return. I would not want my food getting cold” I said.

“Good morning, miss Violet” Tabitha greeted the lady that had just entered the kitchen.

I took a look at her and tried to access her. She had acted as though I was not there and did not bother to acknowledge my presence.

Who is she? Alpha Jake has no relative living with him. She cannot be his sister because from what I know, his sister is married and should be older than him.

The girl before me is young and should be only a year or two older than me. Why is she here and why does it look like she commanded so much respect around here?

She did not respond to Tabitha but instead waved her hands at her. “Is everything going just as I instructed?” she asked.

“Yes ma’am” Tabitha responded.

I was already furious and was boiling inside by the show of alacrity and audacity from this lady and I so much desired to put her in her place. She is in my house and has no right whatsoever to order anything or anyone around.

Lara noticed my demeanor and came to pull me away with her but I took my hand away from hers and moved closer to the lady.

I could feel the tension and the fear emitting from virtually everyone in the room as their breaths ceased and from their look, it was obvious that they were eager to stop me from continuing with the lady.

“And who the hell do you think you are walking into my kitchen in such an arrogant manner?” I fired at her.

She looked at me from head to toe in a very condescending manner that suggested that I was insignificant and that she was only just taking notice of my presence.

When she was done accessing me, she hissed and turned her face away, and continued to speak to Tabitha who by this time was physically shaking.

“You already know my order, be fast as I do not intend to keep Jake waiting for long” she smirked.

Tabitha made to quickly move away and attend to her but I stopped her.

“Don’t step another foot” I ordered.

Tabitha stopped and turned to me with a look of fear on her face.

“And who the hell do you think you are?” Violet flared.

I smiled at her. This time it was her turn to feel my terror.

“What do you take of yourself to make an order contrary to mine?” her eyes were filled with rage.

I wonder what might have given her such guts to react in such a manner towards me but I would make sure that I teach her a lesson that she would never forget in a hurry.

“First you come in here without saying a word to me, then you order things around in my kitchen and now you don’t even know who I am. I see you must be a very clever girl” I replied.

“Shit” she cursed. “Attend to me now, Tabitha or you would be thrown out of here” she threatened.

“I see, now you are even making threats too,” I said.

Tabitha made to move, but I stopped her again. “No more step. No one should ever attend to her again, that is my order”

“But, luna, the alpha” Tabitha pleaded.

“My husband should know who to talk to if he desires anything” I replied in all firmness.

I was firm and bold in my approach to her. I know I have to be as I have seen my mother act the same way with spoilt brats so many times and after the first time, none of them ever dares to step foot in the mansion again.

“You will regret this. By the time I am done with you, we will know who is who over here” she screamed and stomped her feet hard on the floor before walking out arrogantly.

LARA’S POV

This does not look like it was going to end well. I had tried to warn her to leave Violet alone and come with me but she had bluntly refused now I don’t know what will happen next between them.

What if Violet refuses to leave, what if she starts a fight with Scarlet and injures her so greatly? Then the alpha would know what a weakling she is and might angrily return her back to the mansion in Diamond Cut Pack.

“No more step. No one should ever attend to her again, that is my order” Scarlet commanded.

And what if the alpha finds out about this and gets annoyed with the way Scarlet is treating his guest and decides to punish her so severely? I wonder what she intends to achieve by all these. Only the thought of what the alpha might do already gave me goosebumps.

“But, luna, the alpha” Tabitha tried to explain the situation to Scarlet but she was having none of it.

She gave Tabitha a sharp look for daring to speak back and Tabitha bowed her head in submission. “My husband should know who to talk to if he desires anything” she replied firmly.

I have never seen Scarlet react this way to anyone before, except of course to Gina who she was always ready to stand up to. But then, she was never this bold before Gina. Or is this because of the power that she wields over here in her new home?

The only person that I have seen like this before is ma Patricia. She was always this way to intruders, especially the female ones. She never gave them any chance to be in control and I think Scarlet must have gotten this trait from her mother, she did learn a great deal from her.

“You will regret this. By the time I am done with you, we will know who is who over here” Gina screamed and stomped her feet hard on the floor as she spoke.

When she was done, she walked out of the kitchen furiously to God knows where. But what do I care where she went off to? I only prayed that I never get to see her disgusting face again anywhere around.

Scarlet stared deeply into the eyes of each and every one of us. I have never seen her display such an amount of rage before. Right now, she was like an angry lioness trying to protect her pride and her pack against the evasion of rogues.

“And no one dares go against my order” she yelled.

We all nodded in the agreement, mumbling inaudible words.

She turned away from us and walked out of the kitchen angrily while I followed obediently behind her, trying to keep up with her pace.
