CHAPTER 35 - UNLEARNED

SCARLET’S POV

“Scarlet”

I was lying down on my bed and I had my back against the wall when I heard my name being called. And since no one had entered the room and it was just Lara and me that was in the room I presumed that the call must be from her. She was assisting me to tidy up things in my room and so I figured she wanted my clarification on something.

It was already late and she was supposed to have left my room but I had requested that she stay a little longer amidst her protest of not wanting to go against the alpha’s command.

If she goes, this would be the first night that I would be staying alone and I don’t think I was prepared for that just yet even though this would be my second night in my new home. The alpha does not sleep here with me, why then is he so concerned about who I decide to share my bed with?

“Scarlet” I heard the voice call again.

“What is it, Lara” I grumbled.

The voice sounded familiar but it definitely was not Lara’s voice. I could swear that I have heard this voice somewhere but I could not figure out where and If Rich was allowed in here, I might have said that it was his voice even though I know that it was not. The voice was masculine.

Who could have entered my room without at least knocking, and what was Lara doing allowing someone in here without first notifying me? I sat up on my bed in order to ask the intruder out. I was thinking that it must be Rich and I don't want someone to see him here with me. Even if he has something very important to say to me, he should have sent one of the maids to me instead.

I turned to the door and I realized that it was him and this was the first time that I would be seeing his face uncovered.

But why does his voice sound like something I have heard before now? He looks so handsome, more handsome than I have ever imagined and the sight of him caused me to freeze and my breath to cease for the first few seconds.

I do not know how I should react in his presence. What was I to do or say? And what was he here for?

He remained at the door, with his eyes staring lustfully at me and I wondered why he had to look at me in such a manner.

Slowly, I moved my gaze to my body and it was only then that it dawned on me that I was on my lingerie. With haste, I grabbed the duvet and covered myself with it. Seeing my reaction, he did not try to put up any protest. However, he smirked as he watched me do so.

I looked around my room for Lara but there was no trace of her. This brought fear to me. Lara has been here with me the whole time and she never informed me that she was leaving.

There was no way that she would leave without getting my permission first unless she was forced to. I gave him a sharp and angry look. “Where is Lara?” I mumbled.

“It is late and it is my command that no one should be here with you once it gets dark” he replied.

I shivered at the sound of his voice. His voice was firm, and it was not like anything that I have heard before. I had thought that Carl and Hedrick were the worst, but theirs was nothing compared to his.

He has this carriage and an aura of authority all over him and it says that his words are final. I could tell that he was authoritative and he would not want his decision to be questioned by anyone, not even his luna.

“And where is she, what have you done to her?” I panicked.

The thought of any harm coming to Lara made me restless. How could he be this heartless to such a poor little girl that was only acting on my instruction? I don’t know what I can do to him, but I will make sure that he felt my wrath if he dared to as much as to cause a scratch on Lara.

He giggled as he observed my reaction. He walked up to me and leaning a little on the bed, tilted my face closer to him and said. “You should be more worried about what I am going to do to you”

“Do to me, how?” I screeched as I saw the fury in his eyes.

He giggled and left me. “You dare not go against or question my orders here or even anywhere else”

He walked to the door. “I will be in my suites and I would not want to wait for long” he commanded.

“Why?” I mumbled.

“Come for your punishment and remember you will not be needing that duvet with you,” he said and walked out.

As soon as he was gone, I jumped out of my bed and went to my wardrobe. I ransacked my wardrobe for nightwear, but most of them wear either too short or transparent. And I continued searching until I came across one that was not transparent.

“And now when would I arrange this” I bawled at myself as I saw the clothes scattered all over the floor.

“Oh no,” I chuckled. “I am the luna now and I don’t have to do anything myself. Kendra should take care of this by daytime”

I quickly wore the nightwear that I picked and walked out of my room.

The alpha had made it clear that he does not want me to keep him waiting and I don’t intend to do that.

When I got to the suite, I stopped and was going to knock before I decided against doing such and instead opened the door myself and walked in. He had requested my presence and he should be expecting my arrival.

The room was not lighted and it was difficult for me to see clearly. I could tell that it was a very big room even in the darkness and I made my way around it, having stood for a while wondering what to do.

I wondered if he was in. Where would he have gone to even after seeking my presence? I groped around the darkroom, trying to at least find a seat for myself and await his arrival.

“And why did it take you this long?” the light went on and I saw him sitting on a high stool. “I will not forgive you next time” he added.

I looked around the room. It was greatly furnished and the exotic state of the room could not be best described by the use of mere words. It was paradise. But there was something not right about this room, there was something odd amidst its lavishness and I could not pick out what that was.

He gazed at me with a grin as I looked around anxiously.

I saw something, it was like nothing that I have seen before and something tells me that it was not supposed to be here. I walked up to it and when I got close to it, I held out my hands to touch it but his words stopped me. “You don’t act unless I ask you to,” He said.

“But why are they here?” I mumbled.

“Those are my toys, or should I say tools. You have to get used to this way of life because that is how it will always be with you” he replied.

“Me, why me? What are they used for, in a room?” I muttered.

“I see you are unlearned” he giggled.

“Unlearned? I completed my education and I went to the best school” I put up a protest.

Did he just describe me as unlearned? Deep within me, I wondered why he should describe me as such. I was one of the best in my class and so, it is without a doubt that I was very smart, way smarter than most of the rich kids. And I could confidently say that all of these toys or tools that I am seeing have nothing to do with education.
