Chapter 26
ANOTHER WEEK has passed and their third mission was also a success. At the same time, Charles' team as well as Wynter arranged their belongings for their return to the Philippines to pick up their last mission and take him to Thailand, specifically to LUST DAWN.
They’re just the same as Wynter’s justification. They will be more comfortable if they are also with their two other friends. Plus LUST DAWN may not look like it, but it's one of the most secure places in the world. Since Narae and Charles combined their talents when it comes to technical stuff, they made an indestructible security system.
Angelo, Narae, and Anurak's security will be even better because Charles is with his entire team. Light would disguise as the club’s DJ, Kathleya as a bartender, Dian as a bouncer, and Khrysgen as a waiter.
Also, for the first time, they’ll break one of the DAWN rules. For the sake of Angelo’s safety, he'll be staying at the DAWN’s penthouse.
(But where will he sleep?) Narae immediately asked.
The four of them were currently in a video call. Charles and Wynter were together, and the same goes with Narae and Anurak. They are also currently on the air with his team who are each stationed inside the plane.
The twins were busy playing cards while Light and Dian were playing jack-en-poy.
“And I won again!” Light suddenly shouted and then slightly punched Dian.
“Mierda! That’s stronger than the last one!” the latter complained.
“Then win. So you can get back at me. Or else I will soon crown myself as Jack-en-Poy King,” Light boasted.
“Does that title even exist?”
Charles tuned them out and focused his attention on the video call.
(In the swimming pool. Try to put him to sleep there.) Anurak sarcastically commented.
Narae immediately slapped him on the arm. (I’m serious.) She suddenly looked at him. (I doubt that Unnie would let Oppa stay with you, D.)
Charles rolled his eyes. “I also have no plans of staying in one room with him.”
(Weh? Why do I have a hard time believing that?) Anurak teased.
It was Wynter's turn to talk. “Hermano would take my room. I’ll be staying in Narae’s room.”
The two of them both agreed. (So Angelo would only sleep and live in the penthouse, huh? Breaking one rule is enough.) Narae looked at him again. (And D, heads up. My cousin and I sure love to hang out in the penthouse. So ehem.)
(Ehem. No to p*rn please. Ehem.) Anurak pointed out, which made Charles frown.
"Stop teasing Dom," Wyn said to the two who listened. “Anyways, our plane’s about to land. We will just rest for one night in the Philippines and then we will go there.”
(Got it, Unnie! Am I gonna fix your room for Oppa or not at the moment?)
“I’ll handle my stuff. Thanks for the offer, Nar.”
(No worries, Unnie. Have a safe trip!)
(Call us when you're on a plane to Thailand, oki?)
“Got it, An. And don't forget to call us if anything goes wrong,” he reminded those two.
(Yes, sir! Bye then, see you both here in LD tomorrow.) Narae said.
When all of them were done bidding goodbye, Charles ended the call and rested his body against his chair.
“Excited?” He suddenly heard Wynter's voice.
He then turned to his friend. “To see Narae and Anurak? Yes.”
Wynter, who was focusing her attention on her pocketbook, smirked. “You know what I’m pointing out—rather who I was talking about.”
Charles let out a sigh. There's no point denying it. Besides, she accepts me for her brother now. “Yeah. I’m looking forward to seeing him.”
"Even if you've been talking for a few days?"
Charles was stunned by the girl's question. "Y-You knew?"
She looked up at him. “Autumn told me.”
“And?”
“And what?”
“And what’s your say? Any violent reaction? Questions?”
Wyn went back to reading. “None at the moment. Can’t think of anything right now.”
Only then did Charles notice that he had stopped breathing. When he’s finally done catching his breath, he remembered something. “About your academics.”
Wynter’s eyes were still on her book. “Hmm?”
“You’re close to graduating,” he hesitantly reminded his friend.
The lady let out a chuckle. "Worried about the wedding?"
He just laughed too. “Yeah. No offense, but I don’t want to marry you. ”
Wynter couldn't help but roll her eyes. “And neither do I. I don’t want to be tied down and you know me, Dom. When I say I don’t, I don’t. I’ll do everything I can to make it stay that way. Nothing and no one could tie me down. ”
He felt relieved. "So I don't have to worry about the wedding even though your deal with Dad is about to end?"
Finally, Wyn looked at him. “Yeah. Just trust me and let me handle that part of our lives. Besides, my brother has feelings for you. Even though we made him forget, he still seems to remember how he feels for you.”
Charles smiled before resting his eyes and mind. He couldn't help but grin like an id*ot, but he paid more attention to what the girl had said earlier. Just trust her and everything will be okay, I can do that.
AFTER A few hours, they arrived in the Philippines. His team left the airport first and stayed at a hotel booked by Kathleya, while he and Wynter went straight to her house.
"Gabby already has his own room there, and fortunately unfortunate for you, it's just next to your temporary room."
Charles refrained from smiling, and when Wynter looked at him he immediately cleared his throat. "What?"
Wynter stared at him before she smirked. “Your room is at the far end, the room beside my older brother’s is the maid’s quarter, but our maids are on vacation. My older brother's room is on the first floor and our rooms are on the second floor— ”
"Hang on," Charles immediately stopped his friend. “Why are you telling me these?”
Wyn took her gaze back to him then went back to reading the pocketbook, then she shrugged. "House tour."
Charles just shook his head. He knew the reason why, he just needed confirmation from his best friend. He was about to return to staring at the outside of the car when the woman spoke again.
"And I'll just remind you again, we'll be back at LD tomorrow, and miracles are forbidden inside the penthouse."
Charles couldn't help the smile that escaped his lips as he rolled his eyes. Yep, definitely the confirmation I needed for my assumption. He shook his head again and then looked out the window.
