Chapter 29
ANGELO HAS been glaring at Charles for quite some time now. Even Wynter was curious about what was going on between them. Until they boarded the plane to Thailand, and when he met Wynter's other friends, he was still glaring at the young man.
“I swear, Nick. One more irritating expression from you and I’ll kick you out of this plane,” he said when he felt the young man beside him. He still wasn’t looking at him, pissed that he might see him still grinning. The plane was already in the air so it was okay to stand up and take a walk.
When Charles heard his last sentence, he raised his hands as a sign of surrender before smiling at him. “I just wanna sit beside you. You know, have a little chat.”
His eyes immediately rolled. “The last time you said you wanted to have a chat, ended up in me lying on my bed—”
Charles leaned to his ear and sexily whispered, “—naked and heaving under me.”
Angelo couldn't help but feel the heat on his cheek at what the young man said. "Shut the hell up, Nick."
Angelo doesn't know why he feels more and more embarrassed since he remembers what happened to the two of them and Charles. Instead of feeling bold and confident, he suddenly felt embarrassed and more awkward with him.
What could have happened before to put us in that situation? It was as if he felt overwhelmed by the thought. Other than what he remembered last night, no other memory entered his mind. He wanted to know what he really felt for the young man because he was sure that there's a connection between the effect of Charles on him now and what had happened to them then.
He felt his stare at him so he turned to him. “What?”
Gone with the teasing Charles and replaced with a serious one. “You look deep in thoughts, mind sharing with me what’s on your mind?”
He let out a sigh and went back to watching the clouds through the window. “I just thought of the reason why I don't remember you. It’s bugging me off. There are some things that come to my mind so I feel like we don't just know each other because you are my sister's friend.” He let a dry chuckle escape his lips as he stared into the depths of Charles’ eyes. “I know it, Nick. I know there’s something more. We have something more. I just couldn’t remember exactly what it was.”
He saw how Charles’ face softened as he looked at him. He leaned back in his chair then turned around and patted his own shoulder. “Come. You look tired.”
Angelo couldn’t help but smile at his gesture. It looked sweet and warm. Angelo didn’t need to be told twice, he rested his head on his shoulder and closed his eyes. I hope I'll remember everything about you, Nick. I don’t know why but I long for you.
Angelo did not realize that he was comfortable sleeping in that position. He only woke up when Charles shook him slightly to say they were about to land.
“Oh finally! We'll be able to enter the famous LUST DAWN,” Light said excitedly. According to him, he will join the club just to become a DJ.
"I haven't been in a club," Dian said. As far as he remembered, he's a bouncer at the club. But how could he not even get into the club if that was his job?
"I saw in the news that LUST DAWN has been the talk of the century ever since their first anniversary last month," said Kathleya, who will be with him behind the counter.
Khrysgen, on the other hand, took his backpack and went down first. That’s supposed to be the waiter.
"Narae and Anurak missed you, Hermano," his sister suddenly spoke to him as they were getting off the plane.
He immediately smiled at what he heard. "I missed them too."
Suddenly someone cleared their throat from behind him so he turned to look at it. He frowned when he saw Charles' dark face. What's his problem?
He heard his sister's soft chuckle so he faced her. She just smiled at him and asked, “Who do you miss more, Hermano? Narae or Anurak?”
“Nothing more. I just missed them both. ”
Wynter turned to the man behind them. "Just calm down, Dom," his sister reminded him with a grin on her face.
He saw Charles glared at his sister but she didn’t seem affected by it and just laughed at him. Only now did Angelo notice how close the two really were. And for some unknown reason, it didn’t sit well for him. He just shook his head because of the thought. Emy and Nick are just best friends. Best friends. Nothing more, nothing less. Snap out of it, Angelo!
Until the three of them were inside the car heading to LUST DAWN, he was still silent and just stared out the window. It was only then that he remembered that the two had also been together in recent weeks. Were their friends with them or was it just the two of them? He just sighed.
What the hell is wrong with me? Since when did I care about their relationship? Besides, his sister told him that the man was just her best friend. His sister also doesn’t give a hell about romantic relationships, she would never find an interest in her best friend.
He was going crazy with what he was thinking and was alone while shaking his head. He didn't notice the worried look his sister and her friend were giving him. Both Wynter and Charles share a look as they glance back at Angelo who’s still busy shaking his head.
"Is he okay?" Charles asked in a whisper as he looked at Angelo.
“It looks like I will reserve a slot from Dr. Simoune,” Wynter replied.
Charles flatly looked at his best friend. “You’re already assuming that your brother’s crazy?”
The lady just shrugged. “I’m just a very concerned sister, you know?” she said with a hint of sarcasm.
Angelo, on the other hand, who is unaware of the conversation going on between the two, continues to let go of the jealousy he feels. I should stop overthinking about it. He sighed and turned his head to look at Charles, only to see him laughing with Wynter. Yep, I won’t be able to stop thinking about it anymore.
