Twenty Nine
"Come back, Harris; we need to cover ourselves before going under the CCTV cameras." After that, we will walk through the back door to the library, meet one other person, and...
"Shut up!" Harris stopped her. "If you need my help, we will go per my plan, so you better tell that person that your plan is cancelled." He pointed a finger at her.
"But…"
"No buts." He warned, "And for your information, it's only me who will wear a mask, not you. You want your foolish husband to think that we were robbed, right? So, I am the covered goon. I caught you outside in the middle of the night, taking some air. I kidnapped you and brought you to the bank, and since everyone knows that after Camila, it's your thumb that can open that lock, I threatened you with your life. No, that's not it. A Luna is supposed to lay down her life for the sake of others, and that's not you." Harris stopped, holding his cheek in his thoughts. After a while, he jumped and said, "I got it. I threatened to make a call to my other ally who is out there to burn the whole pack down, and because you care for the lives of the members of your pack, you obliged to me." He smirked. "What do you think about that?" he asked her.
"What of the CCTV? How will they see on CCTV that you forced me to give out the money? We better go with my plan and turn the camera off." Alina suggested.
"I said your plan is bullshit, and if you dare mention it again, I won't help you." He threatened.
"Fine, we go by yours." So what do we do?"
"We?" he scoffed. "It's I. I am going to drag you to the ground like a bag of rice because, don't forget, the cameras should record that I kidnapped you. While at the underground bank, I'll kick, slap, or punch you, whatever I feel like, and you shall be fighting me back. After a while, I'll take my phone out and threaten to make a call, and that is when you kneel down, promising to do whatever I want. You'll press your thumb on the doors; they'll unlock, and I'll go in and take the money."
"After that? How will I get my share?" She asked.
"I am not done yet." He said, and Alina nudged her to continue, After I get the money,I'll run out of the pack, but with a fake bag of money, and you'll remain with the real cash." After biting his nails for a while, he said, "So that means we'll have to look for a loose fence and cut it. Out there in the forest, I'll throw away my clothes and the mask, change my scent, and shift into my wolf form. You need to make sure of one thing, because if I am caught, I'll go down with you. So, after I am gone, raise an alarm, but make sure you tell them that I reached here first and that I am out there looking for the robber. And then after they arrive, I'll mix with them; we win, they lose," he laughed, nodding his head.
"Fine, how about I tell that friend waiting for us to go and cut the fence while I' go and help you get covered?" She asked, not wanting to take on the risky job of cutting the wire. She knew the worst punishment a person could be given if they were caught trying to cut the fence.
"Nay, I'll get dressed all by myself. You go and ask your friend to cut the fence, and you should look for a place to relax because from there, that's when I'll come and get you," he said, walking back to his room. Agreeing, Alina sent a message to her friend, who agreed immediately but was not happy with the change of plan at the last minute.
Alina then went to an open space, which was in the garden, where she laid down and watched the moon come out of the clouds. The rain had stopped and the ground was still wet, so she let go of the plan and decided to look after her new seedlings to see if they survived the heavy rains. She then sent a message to Harris, telling him where she was, and deleted it to avoid suspicions.
After Harris got a message that the fence was cut and Alina was ready, he wore a black Marvin and a black hoody over it. He then applied some perfume to hide his scent and walked out through the back door to avoid getting caught by the CCTV. Happily, he walked to his target, who was Alina.

Alpha Killan was woken up by a commotion. Jerking up from his bed, he put on his flip-flops and walked out of the room in panic. Reaching at the door, he recalled something, and he hurriedly walked back to the room, where he flipped the cover off the bed and was shocked to see Alina not on her side. He pressed his palms on Alina's side but was shocked to find it as cold as ice. It was obvious that she didn't lay there even for a minute. Thinking that it might be her in trouble, he ran out, still in his pajamas, and headed to where the commotion was coming from. He found Alina sitting on the ground with bruises all over her face. Her left arm was bleeding, and even though the guards were asking her what had happened, she remained silent.
"What happened?" Alpha Killan knelt on her side, wrapping her in his arms. Alina hugged him back, sobbing silently. "Move backwards. She is still in shock." Alpha Killan waved for the people surrounding them to create some open space so that she could get some fresh air. When people made a way for them, Alpha Killan carried her from there and brought her back to their room, where he immediately called the pack doctor, who said that she was in shock and that she shouldn't be asked anything unless she wanted to talk about what had happened all by herself. The police officers who were already there to collect her statement agreed with the doctor and asked Killan to call them whenever she was ready to talk.
"Can I have a word with you, Alpha?" The beta of the pack came after them.
"It can wait. I need to be here with her." Killan responded, his eyes still glued to the sleeping Alina. Harris rolled his eyes and then insisted, "It's an emergency, Alpha. I think that's why she is still in shock. I mean, it's related to her condition." Beta Harris explained his words when Alpha Killan looked at him with confusion. Killan excused himself so that he could put something on while Harris waited for him beside Alina, who opened her eyes the moment Killan disappeared behind the bathroom door. In a voice barely above a whisper, she asked, "When can I get my share?"
"Be polite, or else I'll make sure you don't get even a cent!" Beta Harris retorted, docked to her level, and deep kissed her even though she kept on refuting. "Thanks, darling, for such a good idea, but if we end up being caught, you know what I'll do, right?" he smiled at her, gripping her chin tightly.
"They won't. I promise." She said, begging him to let go of her with her eyes. Thankfully, the bathroom door was pushed open, and Beta Harris jumped back to the spot where Alpha Killan had left him standing. Alina closed her eyes, sighing in relief. If it were not for Killan coming out on time, who knows what Harris would have done? He would have ended up struggling her to death. When Killan and Harris walked out of the room, Alina climbed from the bed and walked to the bathroom. Filling the bathtub with hot water, she stripped off her tarted clothes and sank herself in the water, tears streaming out of her eyes. She had finally thought that she would get to settle the guards and forget all about that nightmare, but who knew that Harris would have figured out her plans with the fake Alpha Cameroon? Right after he was done taking the money from the back and packing it in a suitcase to avoid suspicions, he decided that it was Alina who would run out of the pack to confuse the guards.
She vehemently refused, saying that it was risky and she was the one who was supposed to raise the alarm, but Beta Harris told her everything. He told him that she had overheard her talking to her friend, telling her that the moment he is out of the pack, they will call Killan and tell him that he is the thief, and while he is rotting in the underground dungeon, they'll be spending the money.
Harris forced her friend to dress up as the goon, gave her the fake bag, and asked Alina to run after her. She was the Luna, so she had to save her pack's wealth. Although they refused, he threatened them, saying he would raise the alarm and tell Killan everything. Left with no choice, they had to agree. He had said that since they were planning to set him up, it was now up to him to decide whether he should give them the money or not. What Alina knew was that whether he gave them anything or not, they wouldn't be able to do anything. In fact, things won't be good for her because she's been under a lot of pressure lately.
All the people who had been cleaning up her mess had the same demand. That she would be paying them half a million dollars every month because whatever they were doing for her was risky. She agreed, thinking looting money from Alpha Killan would be easy, but after Camila was gone, who she had been setting up all that time, that was when she realized how hard things were. She hadn't paid them for almost two months now, and they were losing patience. Her phone rang, jarring her from her half-conscious state of mind. She swiped the answer button even before looking at who the caller was.
"When should I expect my share?" The voice asked from the other end. It was the fake Alpha Cameroon.
"I don't know. I mean, I am waiting for Beta Harris. Since he went out with Alpha Kilan, he is yet to be back." She responded, massaging her shoulders. Things were getting messier and messier. Now that the fake Alpha Cameroon was depending on her for her share, she had made it clear that if Beta Harris refused to pay them because of her carelessness, then she would forward their conversation to Alpha Killan, which was enough to send her behind bars.
"Well, just keep on making excuses. Alina, when the sun rises without my share reflecting on my back account, trust me. I'll be left with no choice but to expose you." The fake Alpha Cameroon reminded her.
"I know, just be..."
Before she could finish, the fake Alpha Cameroon hung up. She has never let her finish talking anyway, since day one. Sighing, Alina threw a beer bottle she was holding against the wall and pulled her knees to her chest. She screamed at the top of her voice given that the bathroom was soundproof, and when she was satisfied, she walked back to her room, where she buried herself under the covers, waiting for Beta Harri's call. He was now the only person she could count on for her saintly nature to remain.
On the other side of the city, inside Alpha Cameroon's mansion, Ash Moon could be seen hiding behind the bathroom door. It had been months since he had seen Larrisa go in there and take hours to come out. At first, he thought that maybe she gets herself busy with her phone while sitting on the bathtub, but after stalking her for a while, he realized that she never goes to the bathroom, but there was another room behind it where a person could go in by pressing a small bottom on the wall, which would make the secret doors, camouflaged with the wall, slide open. Larrissa always came out happy, and he had sworn to find out what was behind there.
When he saw her coming out, he sat back at his desk, pretending that he was engrossed in his phone. "You want to go out today?" he asked Larisa, who spun to look at him with shock all over her face. He expected that anyway; he had never talked to her since they got married six months ago.
"Really?" Larissa asked him with a blush on her face.
"Yeah. You like Blue Moon Cafe, right? I made reservations since I knew you wouldn't say no to me, or should I cancel the reservation?" he asked, making the fake smile on his face look genuine.
"Don't," Larisa said, her voice rising. After she realized what she had done, she lowered her head and said, in a low voice, "Sorry about that. I am just excited. I'll go and prepare myself then." She excused herself, skipping back to her bedroom. Ash Moon sighed, resting his back on the bed. "To get her to spill what she is up to, I'll have to fake that I love her," he thought inwardly while massaging his neck, and then looking at his screen saver, he sighed, "I wonder what you are doing, Camila. I really miss you. If it were not for the contract I signed with Larissa, saying that I would never see you as long as she and I were husband and wife, I would have been there with you right now. But don't worry, I am really looking for a reason to break this alliance with her, and once I find out what is behind that door, I'll blackmail her and get back to you, my Mila."
