Fifty
Kamilina helped Kian pack their bags. Their three days at Kian's village turned out to be the best of her life. She met new people and learned to ride a horse, even though not perfectly. She was glad for it anyway. Through the learning, Kian had been gentle and patient with her. He had also taken good care of her, as he had promised her brother. She had lacked nothing, and she didn't know how she would thank him. She also met the grandmother that meant the world to Kian, and she had promised to come back as soon as she could and spend some time with her. They helped her open a few shops because she kept on complaining to Kian that she was bored of staying at home with nothing to do.
Kian always sent everything to her and her grandchildren so that she would lack nothing. He had also made sure that she had workers who would help her with household chores. "Done?" Kamilina turned to face Kian, who was tying his shoelaces.
"Done," he signaled by raising his thumb to her with a broad smile covering his face. "Let's go and say goodbye to Grandma." He then pulled Kamilina out of the house, dragging the suitcase with his left hand. They found the grandmother selling something to a couple of customers standing outside the counter, and they nodded at them as they walked inside the shop. After seeing them, their grandmother signaled one of his male grandchildren to come and take over the customers as she engulfed them in a hug.
"Travel well, my children." She smiled widely at them. "I am really glad that the two of you came. You have made this old grandmother, Sarah, very happy. Do pass my greetings to your brother, my child." She said to Kamilina
"I will grandmother Sarah and stay well. And oh, I'll be coming back as soon as possible; remember my promise?" She winked at Granny Sarah, who smiled sweetly at her.
"Do come. Now off you go before you reach late," she said while jokingly pushing them out of the shop. "Call me after you arrive," she called out at them. She looked at them until their car disapeared behind the thick green trees sorrouding her home and turned back to tend to her customers, a happy smile still worn on her yet-to-wrinkle face. She really took good care of herself because, at sixty, it was hardly possible to spot any wrinkles on her face. Kamilina had wanted to know her secret, as she said that she drank a lot of water and exercised regularly. Kamilina gasped, wanting to know if she does go to the gym, but Grandma Sarah smiled and told her that she makes sure that she walks as far as she can.
She doesn't rely on cars or motors. She only took them when she was carrying a heavy load with her, and she rarely did that.
"Oh God, I am going to miss grandma." Kamilina sighed when they left the sign behind, which read in bold italic letters, Tamakin Village.
"I'll miss her as well, but thanks to your promise, we will go back as soon as possible, this time with Killan if he will agree." Kian smiled while squeezing her hands.
Half an hour later, Kamilina jumped out of the car excitedly as Kian's car pulled up at the palace gates. With a smile covering her face, she opened the back seat and struggled with their suitcase. Kian had noticed something amiss and thus walked closer to the humming Kamilina. "What do you think they are gossiping about?" He whispered in her ears while pointing at the workers.
"Who?" Kamilina twirled, letting go of the suitcase. "Uhm, it seems like they have nothing to do," she said while approaching them. She opened her mouth, ready to ask them if they were down with their chores, but their conversation rooted her in her spot. They were gossiping about her brother, Alpha Killan. They were all talking about how angry he had become and that the pack's doctor had been injecting him with sedatives for the past three days so as to calm him down.
"Yesterday, if it were not for the other jailers screaming, Alina would have been dead by now." She heard one of the workers gossiping in a voice barely above a whisper to her group. The workers had divided themselves into a group of five. They were like twenty groups, each having their own version of Alpha Killan's possessed-like behavior.
"Mmh, but if you ask me, I think she deserves it. She made all of us believe that Camila was a bad person, and none of us felt pity when all those things were down to her, so right now I am wondering why people are feeling sympathy towards Alina. The doctor should have let Killan rip her to death." Another snarled.
"Yeah, I think the same given that it's her who provokes him. I heard that Alpha Killan had been ignoring her since she was thrown behind bars, but she had been sending notes to him asking him to see her, even if it was for a few minutes. Yesterday, she overstepped; she had asked Killan to take her back, and she would make sure that she would be pleasing him in bed since he is a sex freak. I guess that word sex freak angered him, and that's why he was ready to finish her off." Another one, who looked younger compared to the others, said it in a loud voice, causing the other groups to come toward her.
"And who told you that? I heard that she had spit on his face, and that's why he got angry." Another vehemently refused. She even went ahead and explained that she was there when all of that was happening because it was her duty to clean the prison cells.
"Liar, my boyfriend told me. The guard who was on duty is my mate, and he's the one who told me all of this unless you are calling the head of the guards a liar," the worker who had said that Alina called Killan a sex freak held her hands akimbo, glaring harshly to open who said was on duty.
"Enough girls; there is no need for us to fight over them. Even if she ends up getting killed, who cares? As long as we keep our jobs, we should desert this conversation before someone hears us." The head maid asked the others, and they all nodded in agreement. They left the spot without seeing Kamilina and Kian, who were there all that time, hiding behind the car, eavesdropping on their gossip. Before Kian could turn to Kamilina and ask her to relax, she had already let go of his hand and was running toward his brother's room.
"Brother," she cried while busting into his room. It seemed like Killan had just woken up because he was standing beside the bed, looking all drowsy and tired. His black hair was tangled, and the sheets were all over the floor. Throwing herself in her brothers' hands, she rubbed his back gently and then said, "I heard what they were saying. They think you are possessed." She sniffed.
"Who? Who thinks I am possessed, little one? Wait, did the people in Kian's village speak ill of me?" He asked this while knitting his brows together.
No, brother, the workers think you are possessed. We overheard them—me and Kian," she sniffed. Alpha Killan sighed and sat back on his bed with Kamiliana still in his arms. He rubbed her back, waiting for her to calm down. When she started breathing evenly, he asked her to raise her head and look at him. "You don't need to cry over all of this. You know how these workers are. They don't care what's the truth and what's a lie. As long as they get something to gossip about and pass their time, they will talk. Besides, it's not true what they are saying, so why should I bother?" He asked.
"It's true. But dad won't like all this. You know, he always talks about having a good reputation and stuff like that," she reminded him.
"Mmh, of course I remember that little one, and trust me, I'll take care of all of this. And about Alina, leave her to me because I'll soon be keeping her in her place." He pulled Kamilina's cheeks playful. "You have added weight. What had that duck been feeding you?" He asked, referring to Kian.
"Duck, really?" The general asked while walking in.
"I see you kept your promise, or else." He changed the topic after getting caught red-handed by Kian calling his name.
"I thought we were talking about the name you gave me, and since when did I start breaking my promises?" He smirked at him. In a short time, they started engaging in their heated yet friendly conversation like they always did when they got a chance to stay together. All this while, while calling each other names and trying to fight one another, Kamilina slipped out of the room without any of them knowing about it. While outside the room, she quickly ran to her room and changed into blue shorts, a white crop top, and sneakers. She tied her hair into a high ponytail and walked out of her room, smirking mischievously.
"Brother said you should let me see Alina," she said to the guard in charge of the dungeon, who nodded in agreement and opened the door for her. The guard took her toward Alina's cell, and when he sat back to wait for her, she asked him to go back to his spot, as she would come back on her own after she was done talking to her.
"Yuck. I never thought that I'd one day see you in this state." She sneered at the door while looking at Alina, who was sitting on her own piss.
"Kamilina, you came." Alina smiled weakly while trying to stand on her feet, but she fell on her rear end.
"Of course I came. Am I not a good person?" She asked her, a mischievous glint crossing her eyes, "You know what, Alina? When I came here, I had the intention of fighting you, but seeing you in this condition, ugh!" She rolled her eyes. "I think I should come back after a few days because you would be feeling much better." She smirked at the weak Alina. "I am curious, though, for a strong wolf like you, what happened?" She signaled her trembling legs.
"I'll tell you, ma'am." A dirty-looking man in the other cell laughed.
"Oh really. Feed me all the juices." Kamiliana went closer to that man's cell.
"Right away, ma'am, yesterday, Alpha Killan came in here to pardon some of us. I mean those who have stayed here for a year already. When Alina saw him, she called, asking him to take her back. She said that she was ready to be his sex slave as long as he took her out of there. When Alpha Killan ignored her, she cried loudly, shouting, She can't live without him, and if he wants to leave her in here in this stinky dungeon, then he should at least satisfy her because she gets horny just by seeing him." The man took a deep breath and then continued, "Alpha Kilan asked her, "Really?" and she agreed, thinking that he would finally get in there and fuck her. Do you know what your brother did?" The man asked.
"I don't know. Tell me already!" Kamilana responded impatiently.
"Well, I'll tell you. He asked her how long she thought she could take him, and being all excited and stuff, she said two hours. Aha," the man laughed loudly while looking at the rest in their cells who signaled him to continue, "he chose five men amongst the twenty he had pardoned and... The man stopped.
"And what? Tell me, what happened?" Kamilina started jumping impatiently.
