“Right we need to feed you first. You definitely need to eat first and then we can see doc” he states as he quickly tugs me to the cafeteria.

When we arrive this time no one stares at us. In the two weeks since we have bonded everyone has finally gotten used to Igneous being here.

Igneous

I fight a smile as we enter into the clinic. I cant wait to see her face when she finds out what I already assume. After two weeks of nonstop love making I new that eventually we would have to think about the consequences. I just didn’t think that it would be so soon. I feel her apprehension through our bond and for the moment I feel fear. What if she is pregnant and doesn’t want the child? Where would that leave us? I think that this is something we should have talked about sooner.

“Yes, I want that Igneous. I want to have a family, but I really don’t know If that is possible” she says as her sadness flares.

Before I can tell her that it is, Dr. Frost enters the room. I rise to stand from the bed as she approaches Magma’s. “So, tell me what’s new” she says as she snaps on a pair of gloves and begins taking Magma’s Pulse.

“Oh well not much. My dragon seems to be taking a nice long rest. The uh…well the feeling of the last two weeks has dissipated” She says as she frowns.

“Ah, so you no longer feel the intense heat. That is well and is your Dragon still demanding that you repeatedly take your mate?” Dr. Frost ask with a raise of her eyebrows.

“Oh …no, no she is not” Magma says as she blushes.

“That’s not all. Her appetite has increased. Our auras have changed even more. Her dragon also told her that now we are one and life has been made anew” I say startling them both from where I watch.

The doctors gaze swings fast to Magma and she begins to ask her a series of questions as Magma answers with shakes or nods of her head.

“Do you feel any different? Do you have any nausea? Do you have areas that are more tender than others? Any cravings that you suddenly have? Mood swings” As Magma answers her questions the doctor stands back and looks at the both of us. When she meets my gaze one of her eyebrows raises in question and she has a look of extreme curiosity on her face. “I see, I will be back in just a moment” she says as she rushes from the room.

“What do you think all that was about?” Magma ask as she looks at the doorway where the doctor exited.

“I’m sure we will find out soon enough. Why don’t you lay back on the bed so you can be ready for the rest of her examination when she gets back” I tell her thinking about what the doctor probably went to get.

Dr. Frost rushes back into the room pushing the machine in question and Magma’s back shoots off the bed. “What do you need the ultrasound machine for!?” she yells.

When the doctor meets my gaze I quickly go to Magmas side so I can comfort her if needed. Her fear is strong through the bond, and I don’t want her to start panicking.

“You dragon said that we are now one. She said that life has been made anew. You are eating more and craving vegetables. You even told Dr. Frost that you are tender in some areas. You know what an ultrasound machine is for Magma. I think we need to check” I say trying to calm her as I take her side.

“But how could I be. We haven’t…..well we did but…are you sure?” she says as she stammers.

I nod my head willing her to feel what I feel. My excitement and my joy at the thought that she carries my child. She smiles at me shyly and then lays back on the gurney. Dr. Frost has already set the machine and walks over with the gel and wand. As she swirls the wand in the fluid on Magmas lower stomach we watch the monitor as a grainy image starts to form.

When her womb comes into view three gasps ring out through the room in succession. My eyes mist as I see the two sacs in her womb. Dr. frost touches a dial, and two heartbeats thrum simultaneously into the quiet of this space.

“Well, that’s a definite confirmation” Dr. Frost says as she clicks around on the screen. I look back at Magma when I feel her joy and it matches my own. I watch as tears leak from her eyes and quickly wipe them as the doctor hums. “well that odd” the doctor mumbles.

“What?” Magma says looking a bit frantic.

“Well, its just that normally we would see two circular sacs hanging from your uterine walls. But these seem to be suspended in space and they aren’t the right shape” she says as she zooms further in.

“Is that…..?” I say almost unable to finish my statement.

Eggs” Magma says as her panicked gaze meets mine.

“I thought that’s what they looked like. Even with their odd shape I would put you at about eight weeks. That’s also odd because I know that you two haven’t been together that long.” She says looking at both our shocked expressions. “Amy chance your dragon can tell us what’s going on here” she says to Magma.

I watch as my mates expression blanks for a brief moment, but her dragon eyes don’t appear.

“Nope, I still cant wake her” she says in frustration after a few moments.

“Well, I will need to see you each week since this is the first time we have seen something like this. Include all things you experience in the journal you are keeping and inform me at each meeting. When you hear from your dragon let me know. Until then all we can do its wait” She says as she snaps her gloves off.

She grabs paper towels to wipe off the excess gel from Magma’s stomach and then hastily leaves the room with her equipment. The air is fraught with tension and threw the bond I feel so many emotions coming from Magma that its hard to pinpoint just one. I stare at her face as her ordinary eyes flicker with emotion not knowing what to say.

“Magma, love….” I clear my throat as I begin. Suddenly she moves and I’m fighting for balance as if I were hit by a freight train.

“Why on earth are you thanking me?” I ask as I also brush her tears away.

“Because now I have everything.” I smile as I raise an eyebrow in question. “I have a wonderful mate who has shown me more love in the past few weeks than I thought I would ever receive. Now I am going to have a family with you and my dragon is at peace. Even if I do have to lay eggs, there is no one in this world I would rather have here than you. You being in my life gave me everything I never knew I was missing” She says as she looks at me with so much love. I feel all her love through our bond, and it feels as if our whole world is glowing.

“You were never missing anything love. I was always near you in that forest, you just weren’t looking in the right place. I will never forget the day that you and Caldera found me for as long as I live. I was made whole because of you. Now I have a wife, a mate, and someone I love beyond measure. As both our gazes swing to him, and we get ready to berate him he holds up a hand to stop us. “Yeah, I have the worst timing and I’m an asshole. I got it already. Now can you two keep it in your pants for a while longer. You still have to meet the Alpha and you are already late” He says as he begins leaving the room. I watch him go with a sigh and feel a small wave of sadness come from Magma.

“Don’t let him ruin our news my love. I have a feeling that his day for a mate is coming and when it days payback is going to be fun. Besides, we have the rest of our lives together” I remind her as I pull her from the room to head to Xander’s office. “At least life will never get boring” I say with a smile.
