CHAPTER 48: SOON-TO-BE

"Chelsea Leigh Garcia, will you marry me?" The words kept repeating in my head. It's like a broken record that keeps repeating. I still can't believe that Redemon proposed to me. Because of my nervousness, I didn't think and immediately answered yes. Yup! I agreed, guys! Would I have declined if Red Chandler Buenavista asked me something like that? Who am I to decline, right?

Anyways, we're here in the car. We're going to the new house that he built for the both of us. I'm even more excited to get married because of this guy's surprise. What I'm worried about is what surprise he'll have next. My goodness, I don't know anymore, I'm not ready to take care of a child yet.

I still can't take my eyes off the diamond ring on my ring finger. It's called Adore-Round. The solitaire classic setting features a round brilliant diamond center stone. I almost fell out of my chair when I asked Redemon the price of this ring. It's only 6 million! Yes, 6 million! I have 6 million on my ring finger! I just want to die of shock at the price.

It's like I'm afraid to walk around on the street. I feel like I'll be a target for snatchers or hold uppers on the street because of the ring I'm wearing.

"You like it?" Redemon asked me. He must have noticed that I'd been staring at my finger for a while. Who wouldn't be stunned by a worth 6 million ring like this.

I took my attention away from my finger and looked at Redemon, "No, I love it!" I said with a smile. He also smiled at what I said and turned his gaze back to the road.

"A very special girl deserves a very special ring. That's why you deserved it, love." He said.

I'm really lucky with this guy. I'm so grateful that you came into my life Redemon. You don't know how happy I am that you're here with me and not just that, I'm so happy that you chose me to be with you for life and for growing old. You don't know how important you are to me.

While on the road, I chose to sleep first because it seemed like our journey would still be far. I also didn't know how long I slept, but I only woke up when I felt someone caressing my cheek and calling my name.

When I opened my eyes, the face of my soon-to-be husband greeted me. The real one! Not just because of the contract. Soon I'll be able to say that Red Chandler Buenavista is mine.

"We're here love..." Redemon said to me. I looked out the window and realized it was already dark outside. I immediately looked at the car's clock, it was 6:45pm. Our journey took a long time and I slept for a long time too. I looked outside again and surveyed the house in front of me.

I looked at Redemon and gave him a questioning expression, "Is that the house?" I asked him. He nodded and got out of the car. He opened the door for me and helped me get out.

The sliding gate in front of us automatically opened. I was amazed by how much effort Redemon put into this house. Just from the gate alone, I can tell he really spent a lot. When we entered, a man who looked about the same age as Redemon greeted us.

"Pre! You're here already. How was the journey? Tiring? Come on in. We did some cleaning earlier, we really prepared for your visit." He said to us. He looks like a friend of Redemon.

The house is so beautiful, it looks like it even has a second floor. The size of the house is just right, but the design is grand. When we entered, I saw the white and brown theme of the house. It's very pleasing to the eyes. It's embarrassing that I didn't take off my sandals because of how clean and white the house is.

"Well, Mr. and Mrs. Buenavista, how do you like your new home?" He asked us with a smile.

Redemon just smiled and shook hands with the man in front of us. "Thank you so much, pre. I really didn't make a mistake in choosing you as the engineer for our house. Anyways, this is my wife, Chelsea . Love, this is my college bestfriend, Engineer Ramos. He's in charge of our house." Redemon introduced Engineer Ramos to me.

He approached me and shook my hand. "Nice to meet you in person, Mrs. Buenavista. You're so beautiful in person. Our friend is really lucky. Congrats pre and also to you, Chelsea ... Congratulations on your new home!" He happily said.

He took us around the whole house. Every detail of the house seemed to have been planned and spent on. Redemon really did a lot just for our cohabitation. I still can't believe I'm going to live in this beautiful house. Wow, all I contributed to this is just beauty. I didn't even spend a single peso. That's why I'll make sure to repay Redemon and serve him and make him feel how lucky he is to marry me.

After we toured the whole house, we stopped at the back. We are now in the pool area. I stepped away and walked around because they were talking about something that I couldn't relate to.

While walking, I ended up in the garden. Like the mansion, there is also a dog house here that is surely for Blaze. I was happy when I thought that we will bring Blaze to this new house. That's good because I can't imagine how sad Blaze's life would be in the mansion when Redemon and I leave.

I hope we can also bring Manang Fe here. I have become comfortable living with them under one roof and I owe them a lot for their help when I needed it. I don't know how to thank them one by one.

I smiled when I saw that there are also tulips planted here in the garden. My soon-to-be husband really knows what my favorite flower is. But it seems something is missing... Maybe I'll try to persuade Redemon to put in some plants that we can use for cooking. Plants that we can eat. It's better to invest in plants so we have fresh ingredients in our dishes and we're sure there are no chemicals because we'll be the ones growing and harvesting them.

I went inside and again scanned the whole house with my eyes. This is such a beautiful house but it seems something is missing. It feels lonely to be left alone in this house. Maybe I'm just used to being surrounded by many people in the mansion that's why I feel homesick. I miss being with Manang Fe. I miss their noise when they argue in the mansion when they do general cleaning. I hope there will be a chance for them to visit here.

I heard the two approaching me from behind because I could hear their conversation. I turned to them and approached Redemon.

"Okay pre, I'll go first. I'll leave you and your wife here. I'm already being looked for at home, I might already be a goner if I come home late." Engineer Ramos said to Redemon. "Nice to meet you again, Chelsea . Congratulations on your new house. I hope you liked the result of the house." He said to me.

"The way you made this is really beautiful, Engineer. I can't say anything about how perfect everything is. Thank you, you really did a good job. Like Red said, he didn't make a mistake in choosing you." I said to him with a smile.

He was slightly embarrassed by what I said, "We just did our job and it would be shameful if we did a poor job, given the large amount of money that he entrusted to us for this house, so I'm happy that you liked the result." He said to me with a smile. "Oh right, I'm off now, pre, thank you, enjoy here. If there are any problems, just call us." He said to Redemon as he left. They just shook hands and Engineer Ramos continued on his way, leaving Redemon and I here in the new house.

"Where do you want to eat?" Redemon suddenly asked me.

"Glad you asked. My stomach has been growling since earlier. Let's just go to a drive thru. I don't want to eat at a restaurant at this time." I answered his question.

He agreed, and we left the house and got in the car to look for a nearby drive thru in the village. When we left the village, fortunately there was a nearby McDonald's, so we went here because my stomach was really complaining about my hunger. It was really growling.

After ordering, we immediately looked for a place to park before eating. After we finished eating, we immediately went home. We slept in the living room because the king size bed he said he ordered for our room hadn't arrived yet. It was fortunate that the sofa in the living room was big and we folded it into a mini bed. That's where we slept side by side.

As soon as we lay down, he immediately pulled me closer to him. I didn't resist and just approached him. When I got close to him, I hugged him and pressed my head to his chest.

"Goodnight, love." He whispered in his sleepy voice.

"Hmm...goodnight..." I replied.
