Chapter 20: Intention to give up being a singer

"Myrna." Regina let out a scream.

In the dark, everyone's vision was limited, but Regina was the first to notice that the overhead film's projector lamp had broken its cable and fell. Its position fell right where Regina was standing, but Myrna for some reason suddenly rushed onto the stage and pushed Regina back.

So, when the lights came on again, everyone was shocked to see Myrna lying on the ground, the huge movie theater spotlight resting on her leg.

"Quickly call an ambulance." Regina gasped, then she sat down beside Myrna.

Myrna fainted from the pain of breaking her leg. Several male staff members worked together to lift the lamp, after which Myrna was quickly taken to the hospital. Regina sat on the ambulance with her with a worried mood. This unexpected incident caused the advertising shoot to be postponed.

The wound was quite severe and Myrna had to be in a cast and hospitalized for 2 months. That means that the next 2 months Regina's entire musical schedule will be on hiatus until Myrna recovers and returns to work.

"I thought we were lucky, you had a chance to become famous, but it turned out not to be." Myrna whispered, her health is very weak now, her pale face looks bad.

"Don't think too much, rest assured to get sick. Just wait two months. We still have many opportunities." Regina comforted Myrna.

"There won't be another chance. Two months is enough for an unknown singer to be forgotten. Oh my poor Regina. What should I do?"

Myrna couldn't hold back her tears and burst into tears. During the past four years, despite their many injustices and failures, Myrna had never felt so depressed. All beliefs and hopes collapsed, except for Myrna, no one was willing to accompany and be there to support them Regina to pursue a career as a singer.

"It's fine if I don't become a singer anymore." Regina smiled faintly. "Maybe I'm not destined to be a singer, even looking at the camera makes me nervous."

"But you sing very well."

"It's not enough to sing well. You know, singers still need many talents to be successful. I'm lacking too much. After this CF shoot, I realized that I'm not really suitable to be a singer. Maybe in a few days I will contact them to cancel the contract to shoot the commercial."

"Come on, Regina."

Myrna was about to say something more, but Regina stopped her. Myrna really didn't understand what Regina was thinking, she said she wanted to give up and really gave up. Out of anyone else, Myrna felt she was the one who understood Regina best. If Myrna stubbornly wanted to become an outstanding manager, making Regina's name known to everyone, Regina considered singing as an attachment that could not be abandoned.

When Myrna's family came to take care of her, it was time for Regina to return home.

By this time, it was already dark. Regina hadn't eaten all day, so her mind was a bit dizzy. It is true that she decided to give up being a singer, although her passion for music and singing is still very strong. When she saw Myrna burst into tears, Regina understood how much her stubbornness in wanting to be a singer had worn down Myrna.

Anyway, Regina is also going to be Darryl's wife, she will give birth and be obedient at home. That is her future.

"Hello?"

"Darry, it's me." Regina called Darryl.

"Wait a minute, I'll pick you up at the CF studio."

"I'm at Northside Hospital."

"Hospital? Are you hurt?" Darryl's voice was filled with worry.

"No. Not me. It's my manager sister, Myrna. There was a chandelier that broke the cable and fell where I was. Myrna saved me and then she got hurt." Regina explained.

"What about you, are you okay?" Darryl doesn't care what happens to others, he only cares about Regina.

"Um. I’m okay."

After hanging up, Darryl grabbed his coat and prepared to leave the room.

"Darryl, we're in the middle of a discussion." Darryl's close friend spoke up. He is Charles.

Everyone knows Charles as a genuine playboy. He is a billionaire with a collection of hundreds of super luxury cars. Charles, Darryl and Kane are three close friends. Recently, Darryl got into some trouble with the notorious mafia boss of many years, Harding, which is why Charles returned to Italy to help Darryl.

Out of the three, Charles is the most energetic, outgoing, and mischievous. He is always talkative but at the same time is also the type to be relaxed and show warm emotions. Many people wonder why a guy who was never serious like Charles is so rich, the answer is simply because he inherited his father's massive inheritance. Kane even said that with Charles's personality, he would spend all of that fortune before his son could inherit it.

"I have an emergency." Darryl opened the door without even turning around.

"Is there anything more important than discussing our plans?" Charles jumped up and down and yelled.

"Pick up my wife."

"..."

Charles froze for a moment, totally speechless.

It wasn't until he heard Darryl driving away that he came to his senses. Charles thought he must have heard wrong. How could Darryl get married without him knowing? Charles feels that their friendship has been betrayed, apparently they have agreed that when they get married, they must tell the other two friends first. But Darryl quietly married.

Charles angrily phoned Kane to confirm this.

"Hello?"

"Kane, are you at the hospital?"

"Yeah, just finished one surgery. People are so weird these days, even a pen can swallow. Lucky they didn't die." Kane sighed, his voice low and cold. "By the way, did you just get back here?"

"Yes. I met Darryl as soon as I landed. But, hey, is Darryl really married?"

"Um. Don't you know? Darryl hasn't had a church wedding yet, but he's already registered his marriage with her. So..."

Charles hung up the phone before Kane could finish, he sat for a moment and then was shocked to realize that it was true that Darryl had a wife.

Among them, Charles is the most gentlemanly, he always loves and pampers women, that's why he has many mistresses. He changes his sex partners every month and has never intended to be faithful to a woman.

Kane also has some bland love affairs, not too deep, because Kane is a genius in medicine, he is not really interested in love. Perhaps, Kane will soon pursue lifelong celibacy, according to Charles.

As for Darryl Rider, a dangerous and bloodthirsty mafia, women to him are just toys to take advantage of. Even touching a woman made Darryl uncomfortable. But now, Charles has received shocking news that Darryl is married.

This made Charles really curious to know which transcendent woman had tamed Darryl's wild heart.
