Caring for him
"You hit him?!" Janice asked whilst staring at the pictures in her hand in disbelief.
She knew Jules would definitely do so if given the chance, but she didn't know he was going to go viral.
"Of course and he deserved it," He grunted, rolling his eyes.
He wasn't bothered by the pictures in her hand.
His nonchalant attitude irritates her.
She doubted if he was aware a lot of people were looking up to him. Yet, he was acting as if he didn't give a f**k about anyone.
Not even her.
Except for the baby.
"Are you having a soft spot for him now?" Jules raised his brow whilst gazing at her.
She still had that incredulous look on her face and he wondered what she was thinking about.
He heard her gasp and sidled to his side. "Your hands!"
"What is wrong with my hands?"
"They are bruised and stop acting as if you are untouchable or unaffected!" She walked towards the foot of the bed and squatted.
"What are you doing?" Jules eyed her whilst she tried to look underneath the bed.
His hand shot out to grip her, but she slapped his hand away.
"Why are you so moody? One minute you are fine with me. The next, you act like a crazy b*tch!"
Jules groaned whilst glancing at her face which was contorted in a frown.
"Me moody?!" Janice retorted. "Perhaps, you should try carrying the baby instead. Then you can tell me if being moody is an irrational behaviour or it comes with the package of being in this state!"
She grunted, tugging the box that was underneath the bed.
"You can tell me to help you with that, you know."
"I don't need your help." Janice glared at him.
Jules sighed again. He relaxed on the bed whilst watching as she rummaged through the old metal box."
"I get to take care of you every freaking time. But, I get nothing in return."
"You are my wife and shouldn't complain about taking care of me." Jules winced as Janice aggressively scrubbed the bruised area with a methylated spirit.
"Being your wife makes me your maid right? You f**king has scores of them in this prison you call home!"
"Language Madame." Jules cautioned. "I don't want my child to inherit your potty mouth."
"It's my child and he or she is free to inherit any trait from me because I carried him or her."
"I helped in making him or her as well." Jules asserted.
He tugged her hand as she was about to leave. "Don't be mad at me sweetheart. I was only trying to look out for you." He said softly.
Janice stopped struggling to move away from his grasp. She sat beside him on the bed, clasping his hand. She had added a bandaid too.
"You are hurt because of that and your face is all over the news. It's embarrassing to see you fighting with my ex." Janice mumbled, shaking her head.
She had read a bit of the word on the paper before tossing it away. Her douchebag of an ex had added fib to the story, saying Jules had stolen her from him.
She wished she could see the bast*rd to deal with him herself.
"I don't want you to deal with him, that's why I did it. Also, he won't bother you anymore." Jules said, rubbing small circles on her hand.
She wanted to slap his hand away as it moved to her tummy, but she controlled herself.
She glimpsed his eyes lit up as his hand caressed her bump in the maternity flowery gown she donned.
"My Little prince." Jules beamed.
Janice noticed the proudness in his eyes as well as the tone of his voice and wondered what he was thinking about.
"It could be a little princess," Janice shrugged. She doubted if they would quit arguing about the gender of the baby until it was born.
However, she wanted a little girl. Someone she could relate with.
"I know it's a boy because most of the Forrest children are male before the females follow," Jules said and continued. "Besides, if it is a girl, I'll be happier because I want a little girl that looks exactly like you."
Janice reddened. She averted her eyes from him as he began to scrutinize her. For a minute, she wanted to believe he loved her.
But she knew her mind was playing tricks on her as ever before.
Jules would never like or love her. He had done what he did for the baby.
He was more concerned about it than her. She was more like a stranger he was forced to marry because she was opportune to carry his heir.
Though the truth hurt as she thought of it in her head, she was going to live with it.
It wasn't as if she had a choice to stop loving him or run away from her position as the queen consort.
"What are you thinking about, Madame?"
"Nothing!"
"I know a lying face when I see it," Jules smirked, gripping her chin gently as she was about to look away.
"I'm not lying." She mumbled, standing from where she sat.
She walked towards the closet, brought out a robe and prepared to change into her nightgown.
She felt Jules at her side, her face flushed as his hot breath fanned her neck.
"What are you doing?" Janice sputtered as he began to kiss her neck downward.
"I miss this." Jules groaned when he cupped her derriere and growing bust.
The clothes in her hand clattered to the ground as Jules began to kiss her.
"I miss you too." Janice moaned into the mouth.
He helped her out of her dress slowly and tortured her body by teasing her.
When it looked as if he was about to burst, he thrust into her gently and Janice felt as though she was completed once more.
Her eyes went round as Jules thrust became faster. Her lips opened and she shrieked out his name, panting.
Janice sighed and scooted into Jules as he tugged her into him.
"Sweet dreams darling." He mumbled, kissing her hair.
Janice didn't respond, rather she nodded her head, yawning.
A smile brightened her face as she thought of the lovemaking and how it usually calms her even when she was angry with him.
Moreover, she couldn't stop thinking about how tonight was the best.
